Trump: The First 100 Days

That sounds about as smug as liberals who call working class White people stupid racist trump voters. Interesting.

No arguments there.

As for Trump’s stated desire to cut and consolidate agencies in the name of saving money, what do you think? That would almost certainly cut a large quantity of money…except for the change-over and expansion of the other agencies lol

Should deterrents of fraud not be put in place because new methods of fraud will inevitably be invented?

The left has Hollywood, the mainstream media, modern art and academia.

You really are in a bubble of liberalism unless you take the time to really see if your beliefs are actually true

On the topic of it being inhumane to remove illegals: what other crimes are you willing to let slide enforcement on due to tough action being needed?

In my personal and very general brush opinion:

deportation–depends on politician vs regular joe but–establishing/keeping a solid and growing voting block for politicians. regular joe–bleeding heart/sympathy, logistics, in that order

refugees–humanitarianism

open borders–pure utopian nonsense

I think tbolt’s answer makes sense–you simply cannot refuse to enforce immigration laws. Sorry. So path to citizenship for non felons, and then a big ol “fuck you” at the border for the jumpers from there on.

why are you asking me that question?

I agree with this…Which was the point I was trying to make. Most people who aren’t in the elite stratosphere of the democratic party…just truly care…and care more about that…than borders (or national security etc.) Politicians do a damn good job of exploiting that.

I didn’t feel like scrolling up to find EDs original post so I just hit reply to yours

How many realize increasing taxation is not showing care since you are pledging other people’s money first and foremost?

I’m sure few realize this

Or they think it’s fair if it goes from BIG OOOOOIIILLLLLL to poor little refugees.

For the elite “progressives” both republican and democrat it’s about importing illiterate folks who can’t speak the language and need government. And some business owners love cheap labor that can’t complain about wages or conditions. Notice how the pols NEVER go after the business owners who hire/exploit illegals? That PAC money at work there.

It’s very easy to stir up the 20yo bleeding hearts: “you just hate brown people!”

I must be in the small minority here but I don’t see “letting people who are already here have a path to citizenship” as particularly just. Unless there’s a huge fee to be paid or community service hours. Just letting everyone off the hook seems like a great way to show you’re serious.

I would think you’re in the minority because mass deportation would be difficult and expensive. Quite frankly, keeping people here while drawing a hard line in the sand would probably benefit us more economically.

The rest of your post…yup!

It seems like it’s more about the principle to you, which is fair. It doesn’t seem as practical that’s all.

Which I have to say I completely resonate with B_G on it. You can’t just say “ok, fine, we’re a nation of laws and all but it’s cool if you break laws to get here”. I’m very big on principle as well.

But yeah, practically speaking it just ain’t going to be feasible. And to counter balance my principled opposition is the fact that I’m not a “hold the son responsible for the sins of the father” type either, and my staunch position that a 2 parent family is to be protected in all reasonable conditions. Since the kid is a citizen…

So yes, practical solution. I have been absolutely completely irate at Obama administrations foot-dragging and reluctance to really enforce the immigration laws while at the same time suing states for trying to do so. So, moving forward now.

What are your fears when it comes to being inhumane towards illegals?

This I don’t get?

If it is nonsensical, why do so many (not all, but many) police departments and organizations endorse the sanctuary-city model? Surely they’re not all “bleeding hearts.”

A blanket assertion that “they are not part of the community” seems unsupportable to me. Some undocumented individuals have lived and worked here almost their entire lives. In any practical sense of the term, they are very much a part of their community.

The issue is one of cost/benefit. If the ratio is unfavorable, said pinching would be a bad thing.

Taking that into consideration, revised master plan according to B_G.

  1. Begin building wall.

  2. Give businesses one month’s notice that the laws against hiring illegals will start being enforced. Anyone found knowingly hiring or helping them forge I9’s will go to jail. Then follow through with enforcement. Actually put people in jail for the hiring part. This is important for two reasons. It will decrease the draw for illegals to come/stay. Also it’s way easier to find businesses than migrant workers. Sell this to the right as rule of law and fair competition for American workers. Sell this to the left as ending the exploitation of brown people. At this point many illegals will self deport without work in the US.

  3. Set your whiz-kid team to calculating the cost of mass deportation. Arrest, holding, charging, appeals, transport etc… let’s say it comes out to $25k/illegal. Keep this number in your back pocket.

  4. Finish the wall.

  5. Announce that you are offering all illegals a choice:
    A. You can have $25k in cash and a bus ticket to your town of choice in your home country. We take your picture and your fingerprints to make sure you aren’t a wanted felon and boom you’re on your merry way.
    B. You can pass all the citizenship tests and remain here.

This has to be a complete suprise like the Indian PM and the currency claw back. The idea is that if it’s been a year or so since you effectively shut down jobs for illegals then millions will have already left for their home country. The remaining people would be fence sitters or those that actually like it here. So the fence sitters get more than a year of earnings tax free and the ones who want to stay can.

Major cities are liberal places with liberal mayors who appoint liberal police chiefs. I think some liberals truly believe that deportation is straight up racist and evil in their heart of hearts.

Yes but they broke that community’s trust to join it.
