What where the consequences specifically that Jefferson would enforce on her?
He was one randy dude
Your distaste for my writing style is a wound I’ll have to learn to live with. Chicks are said to dig scars, though, so maybe one day I’ll look back on this injury with a twinge of bittersweet gratitude.
But more importantly: you have totally justified your courageous, principled stand in defense of this place’s resident miscegenation-skeptical white supremacist. At first I was all, wait, why is this guy saying his only issue with the racist scum is the frequent denunciation of the racist scum? But then you were all, smh’s linguistic self-indulgence, and so I was all, oh shit he’s got me there, WHITE POWER. I totally get now that by not blocking therajraj I left you no choice but to join him in his sewer.
Did I do teh sarcazm right?
We would have to find what protocol Jefferson followed to discipline his slaves that disobeyed him. That is beyond my ability from my phone at the moment.
I guess my point is that we could both guess what happened. We could also do research and come to an informed opinion.
What we can’t do is definitively say that Jefferson was a rapist.
From what I have read about him, I can draw the presumptive conclusion that he was a Christian who’s convictions led him to recognize that slavery was wrong. He also spoke and acted out against it, which makes me believe that he wasn’t raping his slaves.
Heh, nice try, but you didn’t fool anyone trying to squirm your way out. As expected. My work is done here.
If you speak out and act against slavery…but own slaves…what level of hipocrasy does that elevate you to? That leads me to believe he could easily rape his slaves…just like your belief. There is no congruence there. But I know there is always someone that wants to believe in “The benevolent slave master.” “O’ Benevolent is he who holds you against your will!!”
Sounds like an Old Testament bible verse.
To your other point:
Though Jefferson agreed with Christianity, there are many sources that show he did not subscribe to it personally:
“The religious views of Thomas Jefferson diverged widely from the orthodox Christianity of his era. Throughout his life Jefferson was intensely interested in theology, religious studies, and morality.[1][2] Jefferson was most comfortable with Deism, rational religion, and Unitarianism.”
It’s very likely Jefferson believed in a higher power…but not specifically Jesus or Allah or Shiva or Buddah or whoever.
It isn’t complicated.
If Jefferson physically or mentally coerced Sally to have sex with him then he raped her. If; however, the two of them had a relationship and sex was mutually agrred upon then it wasn’t raped. I’ve no idea if he raped her or not, I wasnt there.
While I agree it’s a game, do you fundamentally believe change/fixing the broken system isn’t even possible? Or just that the way the public goes about seeking change is wrong?
Seems to me that encouraging people to try to fix the system costs you nothing, while discouraging people to try to fix the system also costs you nothing. Guess I’m just wondering your personal justifications for your rationale.
I think a lot of smh anger towards me is because he knows the dam is breaking

Jefferson was a very passive person by all accounts. It’s possible that he forcibly raped his slaves, but it seems unlikely from what I’ve read.
The pretense under which she was there was “forced”
If you keep someone prisoner and over time they want to fuck you it’s still rape
for everyone that claims to know for a fact Jefferson raped her, can you please use your supernatural abilities to tell me what the medias talking points will be for tomorrow? Or are your powers only good for looking into the past?
Sure, if you view the world as black and white through 2017 colored glasses.
If two high school kids have sex, the guy is 18 and the girl is 17, did the boy rape the girl?
What is your definition of rape?
Jefferson was a very passive person by all accounts.
Very interesting. You wouldn’t think a founding father would be passive, but it’s probably the introverts like himself (I’m assuming) that contributed most to the ideals of this country (outside of the battlefield of course).
