Trump: The First 100 Days

My open question to republicans on this site, when are you going to accept Trump instead of constantly attacking him before he even takes office. Granted he’s goofy, awkward, speaks in incomplete sentences, (which is just as annoying as obama’s stuttering and stammering) has odd hair and sometimes orange skin (not so much anymore) and is no question more moderate on some issues than past republican Presidents.

But…

…as I said about one year ago the alternative was much, much worse. Why not give him a chance instead of attacking him at every turn. It’s not like we have another Obama in office (that was for you Mufasa). Trump will appoint conservative Judges, lower taxes, cut regulation and a host of other things that republicans should very much like (as I also said about one year ago).

Wouldn’t it be fair to at least wait until he’s in office to see if he follows through with some of his promises?

Let me make it clear again, Zeb:

Donald Trump will be our President.

For that reason alone, I will support his efforts to improve and protect America as much as I can.

That is an interesting move…but she was with CNN for a number of years.

How I envision Conservatives explaining and supporting Trump’s actions over the next few years…(It’s already happening to poor Kellyanne Conway…)…

“Fair”? That’s a bit too PC/liberal for me.

At any rate, I expect Trump will be a middle of the road POTUS much like Obama. I have serious doubts about much of what you listed.

You know what, though? If Trump spent more time explaining how he’ll make his campaign promises actually happen and less time giving CNN the finger, I’d be more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

*By middle of the road I mean average not ideologically. I do think Trump will be left of GWB, though.

Yes and no. You see I did not want Obama to be President because he was far to left wing. But you know that. I don’t pretend to be something that I’m not. I will mention Trump’s bad idea’s like trying to rebuild the inner cities. My gosh I hope that was just campaign talk. And other goofy ideas that he has.

Somewhere along the line some people around here found it noble and so above board to not be hot or cold. To be right in the middle. That way they could be perceived as being oh so “fair” and high minded. LOL…I don’t play those games. As I have said many times I believe in the republican philosophy of government. I’ve been called many names for that and…I don’t care.

Granted, the past two republican Presidents have let me down. But I remain optimistic that the republican form of government is best. One only need look at states and large cities that have been run by democrats for long periods of time. They are in large part a mess. I don’t have to list them I’ve already done that many times. Handing people money for doing nothing will not get us out of the current mess that we are in. Prohibiting sane and honest people from carrying guns only gets you a Chicago like murder rate. The democrat philosophy has failed us every where I look. Should I pretend to like this to be perceived as being high minded and fair? Ha ha…nope.

And…

Okay…enough for now my friend.

Absolutely. Along with being biased as all hell. Now the tides turn and Fox will be on vacation.

The thing is though, Fox is heavily outnumbered in terms of bias coverage.

Well, maybe so. But, I don’t remember GW promising to cut regulation the way Trump has. As for Supreme Court Justices you must be a believer by now that he will appoint conservatives to the bench.

No?

Your photo looks more like the MSLM running in different directions to cover for Obama

I hear Merrick Garland is popular among Republicans–Orrin Hatch has been singing his praises for years. Maybe Trump will nominate him…

In GWB’s defense, his presidency was derailed almost as soon as it started by Al Qaeda.

Trump has made a lot of promises, but he’s been a bit short of the actual details. We know what Bush was able and not able to accomplish (tax cuts for example). How Trump will cut taxes and regulations, strengthen the military, and build a multi-billion dollar wall all at the same time while not touching entitlements will be interesting to see at the very least.

What has he done so far to sell me on that?

He’ll do it the same way Reagan did–by borrowing enormous amounts of money. And the GOP will support him in this. (Something I’ve noticed over the years is, Republicans are debt/deficit hawks and balanced-budget enthusiasts only when the POTUS has a ‘D’ after his name.)

Well, I have a serious problem with this. As far as I’m concerned, the debt, deficit, and unfunded liabilities of the U.S. government are the single greatest threat to the sustainability of our way of life.

I said it before :

I define his success by making good on his signature issue (immigration).

I’ll add not invading more countries and worsening the situation in the middle east.

Everything else is icing on the cake to me.

ED says with tongue firmly planted in cheek

It will be interesting.

He has repeated it several times and went as far as making a list in which to choose from. And then months later narrowing that list. And from what I have seen every Judge on the list is conservative. That is one promise that I am just about 99.9% he will fulfill.

Keep in mind as I said back in the day. Whether Trump is a real conservative or not is not the issue as long as he governs as one…regarding the key issues most important to conservatives. Part of that is choosing as many conservative Judges as he is able. If he reneges on that one promise the conservatives will abandon him. That is a very key issue as you know as gun rights are involved. And which group supported Trump early on? The NRA. Trump will be choosing conservative Judges.

Yes, but you know the (in)famous story concerning Hatch and Garland. (If you don’t, I’ll be happy to share it with you.)

If so, and I hope it doesn’t end that way, at least we will get something for our buck…Now what did Obama give us? Oh yes 19 trillion in debt and what did we get for it? Uh huh.

I have a gut feeling that Trump will go after Isis with a vengeance. That might mean boots on the ground in key areas in the ME.

Pure speculation.

What do you think we’ll get?

Only our standard of living and way of life, both of which were facing a literal existential crisis during the global financial meltdown.
