Trump shot? What the hell

Think “traditional values” with a bend for gun control and social welfare programs.

Thats how i tend to view it.

Yep thats how i view it.
I honestly think most people do fall in the middle. Which i think the extreme right and left hate from what i gather. With them using the term fence sitters.

Politicians and their money-sources thrive when the vast, moderate middle is at war with “the other side” rather than focused on the corruption completely visible in government.

It’s despair-inducing.

Politicians corrupt? Surely you jest!

True, but there is some grey area. There are points of disagreement I wouldn’t compromise on just because corruption exists. So it’s not a mutually exclusive thing.

Well, it’s funny you ask about this, armed as you are with your google statistics and smug European affinity for being wrong about everything you write in PWI.

Our reported crime rate is probably still quite low, as it only measures reported crimes that the police and FBI agree are crimes. Even that must be going up, I’m sure. There have been four shootings with one dead child in my town in the last week. That’s more shootings than the first five years I lived here beginning in 2006-ish. These were all within 2 miles of my home.

Earlier this year a guy I know was stabbed at the gas station I go to, and the guy who did it was out on a pittance bail a few hours later.

You can get high in the park and assault strangers walking by and this will not be counted as a crime in Maine, nor will all of the petty theft you easily get away with.

Earlier this year a guy by the name of Leein Hinkley was let out of Maine state prison, re-offended and had his bail lowered to a pittance by an activist judge who believed his rights were being violated. He was in jail for stabbing my kid’s hockey teammate’s mom in 2012. Fifteen times. State of Maine decided it was in our interest that he roam society, and he promptly killed a guy I knew and burned two houses down before being killed by local police in a shootout.

Last year we had a guy tell the authorities he was going to snap and go on a shooting spree, and he shot up the entire town including people I know.

Democrats and complacent conservatives who aided them took a normal American college town and turned it into their social experiment of policy priorities and let me tell you first-hand. IT SUCKS.

You don’t know a goddamn thing about America or Americans, but don’t let that stop you from offering your humorous takes on our politics. I find it amusing in a Borat kind of way.

Interesting but I have been a Reagan Republican and considered very Conservative. As I’ve aged, my positions are pretty much the same. Really, haven’t changed on them. However, in 2016 I was a moderate. In 2024, I am now being called a liberal. So, I guess I too am a Liberal…

That 's what happens when you say that the actions of a President aren’t all wrong… Today, it is all or you are the enemy.

This is what our votes are supposed to be for. At present it’s hard to identify what meaning they have beyond local matters, but as @twojarslave points out, even that can be corrupted.

A local village here in postcard land just ousted its select board after shady stuff was discovered (wanting to implement restrictions that would unreasonably negatively impact local working people, geared to increasing the comfort of second home owners, which votes were held in closed-door meetings).

Maine State Police statistics actually, but hey, data - bad, vibes - good.

Apparently not per MSP.

And a Russian-style kleptocracy is gonna solve this problem how? What, do you think that with the reelection of the God-Emperor vigilante justice for the select few frustrated middle aged men will be on the table?

That guy was president before. How is he, despite his God-Emperor status, gonna solve these state and local issues that you’ve outlined?

Nope, this is just anger. Burn the country down to own the libs.

No you don’t. I’m making you angry.

Here’s Chuck at last night’s public comment explaining what he saw at the polls last week, much to the council’s chagrin. Chuck is a well-known local racist and retrograde conservative in the eyes of our woke leadership. He’s an obstacle to progress, just like me, which is why they limited public comment at their meetings. Public comment actually takes place on social media, and the council president was, up until recently, the administrator of our “town of” site where he would censor anything he didn’t like. Now his lackeys do the same thing, since it is a bad look for the city council president to censor his political opponents directly.

@loppar What would you say in response to Chuck’s comments on local matters? Is he just a wild-eyed conservative, easily manipulated by Fox News?

I knew you were going to say it better than I…
(p.s. don’t forget about the omniscient posters he follows on social media)

Dude doesn’t even realize that his anti-Vance/TDS post is, from a more reasoned and less shallow perspective, actually a pro Trump post. Lol, -rich, like the country and the people he loves to ridicule because…envy? jealousy? who knows.

Right?

OMG, I can’t believe JD Vance disagreed with someone in power. Why would Trump ever forgive him for what he said when he was in his early 30’s and conclude that he’s the best VP pick possible?

Orange Man Bad!

There is waaaaaaaaay too much variation at play to risk being shot on the tip of the ear. Not going to revisit that whole convo but I can’t buy this.

What about JD Vance?

This is a Huge Gamble for him!

Maybe the fast track to big things in 4 years. Like Hackabee-Sanders, or more big time like Bush 1 after Reagan.

Or maybe finished, disgraced and even run out of his home state like Pence.

High Risk/High Reward!

Anyone have predictions?

Vance hasn’t been on my radar but I like what I’ve learned about him. Plus he’s younger than me, but not immature at all. He seems like a serious, thoughtful guy who got into politics for the right reasons.

Unlike our current VP, I see no reason to suspect that his political success comes from people he’s had sex with.

I didn’t think McCrystal was a Republican?

In all seriousness, I agree.

In reality, it really is probably a combination of complacency, inexperienced unprofessional personnel and bad luck. That is probably more likely than a government deep conspiracy to kill the Nominee or a PsyOp.

Hey, I am wrong almost hourly according to my stock portfolio. So, what they hell do I know.

My prediction is won’t matter as Trump isn’t gonna win anyways

the democrats are doing everything they can to keep Trump out…and you still have four months to go…plenty of time to replace Sleepy Joe with someone else
