Trump Fires Comey, Cites Clinton Missteps

You never answered Tyler, is there no cut off point?

It’s actually African Americans. Have you seen the pyramids they made?

Watergate & Iran Contra took years to complete. Those pale in comparison to this investigation.

Didn’t they have damning evidence right off the bat for watergate? I mean we’re approaching a year and there is no concrete evidence.

And yet there has been not one scintilla of evidence that Trump had anything to do with Russia…nothing. So maybe Flynn goes down who knows? But Trump…NOPE.

Proof of Russian interference into our election already exists. It’s pretty obvious at this point.

I don’t personally think Trump intentionally colluded with them. Most likely Russia’s interests aligned with Trump for POTUS (and it doesn’t hurt that Russia lends the Trumps so much money). Shit he couldn’t even win the photographer battle. I can’t fathom a world where he gets outsmarted by a Russian photographer and outsmarts the entire intel community with collusion.

One more point about the dems continuing to attack Trump for some nonsensical Russian connection. When it is all said and done and there is no Russian connection the electorate is going to be ticked off…at the democrats.

So in this case the dems are playing a very dangerous game.

The committee looking into the Benghazi attack (which happen in 2012) began in May of 2014 and Clinton didn’t even testify until October of 2015. It’s the government…

You are correct and this is a conclusion that any intelligent person would make at this time.

Isn’t the evidence they engaged in “propaganda efforts” through RT network?

Isn’t that the extent of their meddling?

Good, then let a conflict-of-interest-free investigation go the distance, and if Flynn gets in trouble, the US government can get him to flip on other bad actors, and Trump is exonerated and can move forward. Trump should be in favor of this, as well as his supporters.

Trump has himself to blame for muddying perceptions if he is innocent - let a full investigation issue him a clean bill of health.

This is a counter-intelligence investigation; the evidence is classified. They’re not going to release recorded conversations collected via FISA to the public. But if Flynn is the only one to go down, it sure doesn’t reflect well on Trump. Even if Trump is as pure as the driven snow here, at the very least he didn’t vet Flynn for the highest intelligence position in the US who has access to all classified information.

If it turns out Flynn is dirty and has been colluding with the Russians, would you still have faith in Trump and believe he is fit for office?

Don’t be so sure Zeb. We have partisan right/left news. If they can’t prove anything in court then Huffpo ilk will run stories about it for years. Convincing the faithful that he’s guilty but we just can’t prove it.

Remind you of anything? Like when the entire right wing sphere kept pointing out that mishandling classified material is a felony, and pointing out the many “little people” have been sent to Leavenworth for taking a selfie in a submarine or leaving classified papers in their gym bag. They wouldn’t shut up about Hillary… and it worked.

Shoe is on the other foot now.

It’s pretty conclusive that Russia hacked the DNC/RNC and leaked the Hillary docs. Iirc a few weeks ago France marks the 7th? election they’ve interfered with in the past few years.

This is not to say I think Trump’s hands are totally clean. Too many people around him are starting to crash and burn. He’s definitely smart enough to keep himself airgapped, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t understand Russia was rooting for him and took advantage of it. [quote=“thunderbolt23, post:193, topic:229515”]

1000000% this. So much fucking this. If I could like this part more times I would. Trump may not have colluded with Russia, but goddamn he’s making it hard for anyone to believe it.

Have they provided any evidence?

It’s funny you demand to see evidence before you’ll believe a word of it, yet you frequent InfoWars & The_Donald.

I actually agree with you…hold on I am keeping myself from falling off my chair…Okay…I agree for the reasons that you stated. But I also agree because as I said above. when it is all said and done and Trump and company (with possibly the Flynn exception) are found to be clean the electorate will punish the democrats for wasting millions of dollars and much time.

Do you agree?

Of course I don’t agree - we don’t have all the information yet. That’s the point of an investigation.

I don’t reach conclusions until we have the best information available. Shouldn’t you do the same?

But that’s not the Donald thing to do. My guess at his logic is to fire Comey. Gets everyone in a frenzy over his possible ties. Gets a new Director in who’s on Trumps side not a independent. Completely clear his name with more attention over it. Gains more favour, gains a new FBI Director on his side, more attention, possibly reopen the Hillary E-mail case to lose her favorability in her “Resistance”.

Everyone is looking at the issue linearly, not in the sporadic way Trumps brain clearly works.
