I just picked lobster because I’m known for food stuff.

Feed them steak and lobster every night…they deserve it

If they control the world like you claim…they already are

The article was more about government waste and the end of year scramble to spend the entirety of the budget.

When the president is calling for a half-trillion increase in military spending, that seems relevant.

Israel has been a regional power since its inception. They are by far the most capable military in the region, have nuclear weapons, and one of the strongest and certainly best-trained air forces in the world. Only China is ahead of them with aviation, and that’s just on paper with unproven technology.

That phenomenon is persistent in almost every layer of government. Feeding the soldiers good meals is probably one of the best ways to blow through the excess budget, in my opinion. Have you ever eaten an MRE?

I’ve checked them out before and they actually have their 990’s filed for 2024, with everything looking pretty well-accounted for. Most nonprofits in Lewiston are years behind on their returns, leaving us all to wonder how they spent things like tax dollars and the mass shooting donations that were unscrupulously funneled to them.

We had a elementary school teacher a couple years ago “transsed". He was like 50. Started coming to school in a dress and makeup. My daughter was 6 at the time and told me “theres a boy teacher at my school that wears girl clothes.” Luckily she didn’t have his class, but unfortunately my niece did. It made the kids and parents really uncomfortable. The school district hands were tied. He was tenured and it was NY state.

Do you want some? I’m out of ham and motherfuckers.

This garbage drives me nuts. And I had to see it the first year I was a supervisor at a power generating station that was owned by the city.

Those in control of the budget distribution are power plant morons.

Come budget preparation time I would calculate what funds would be needed for next fiscal year providing no catastrophic event happened. At our plant budget meetings I presented a budget that was less than the current year, because we would be able to finish the year under budget and I thought I could achieve it again. The plant manager said to either spend that money before the end of the fiscal year, or give it to another department.

It seems that the morons downtown knew nothing more than increasing the budget to keep up with inflation. They took the amount of the budget “spent” and add, say, 3%. I was told “use it or lose it.” So if you spent all of your budget, you received a little more for the next fiscal year.

It turned out that at the end of the fiscal year we shuffled the money among the departments to assure that it was all spent.

I would imagine this is how the federal government budget too, only there are 435 monons approving the budget request.

And remember none of those 435 is as dumb as all of them. And considering a few really dense members, that is a low bar.

As you might guess they beat me down enough that saving the city money had no place in preparing a budget. Though the extra money left in the budget, I purchased items that I would need for next year’s operation.

I would have were it not for my extremely bigoted beliefs.

Maybe Pete Hegseth’s 315 bench was achieved because he was eating all of the steak and lobster procured by The Department of War, denying this protein source to lower-ranking soldiers to further his own quest for 405.

I don’t think Hegseth has what it takes to bench 405 at his age, but he did deliver a really good explanation of a lot of the recent ideological changes to the US military.

They have tenure in elementary schools in NY?

Honestly, if any one person managed to eat 80 million dollars worth of anything I’d have no choice but to be impressed.

Bunch of ex-military dudes on X, with experience, saying the “fancy” meal is standard fare before getting sent into a war zone.

Sounds fine to me; fucking Libtard media making shit up again.

Of course.

Yep. Ny teachers union is one of, if not the strongest political force in the state. Its disgusting.

It’s a very old idea going back at least to Rome and probably much earlier, as the Assyrians fielded huge armies. Marines in WWII knew they were going on an assault when they ate steak for breakfast. “An army marches on its stomach” goes back at least to Napoleonic times and has been well-known for millennia.

The whole manufactured controversy about steak and lobster was being repeated on Maine-based facebook groups by the usual suspects, almost as if the same dumb talking points get repeated across the country somehow. The average homeowner in Lewiston is about to get hammered with a $1,500 to $2,000 per year tax increase (along with all of the other tax increases recently enacted) while every measurable public outcome is in the tank, and all they do is howl about Trump and billionaires being responsible for everything (Maine only has one billionaire full-time resident).

In other local news, Lewiston’s mayor is proposing to eliminate one public comment period later in the council meetings and reduce public comment time from 3 minutes to 2 because of how long the council meetings have gone on lately.

Prior to the woke takeover of Lewiston City Council, meetings would typically be an hour or two. Lately they have been running past midnight, sometimes 7 or 8 hours long while these bloviating Democratic Socialists spend hours quibbling over semantics. Instead of tightening up the meetings and tightening up their own language, they want to limit the public’s opportunities to weigh in.

Their own base is responsible for the increase in length as well, because they demand performative ordinances on things like ICE cooperation, Palestine solidarity, DEI positions, supporting the Somali councilor indicted on gun theft charges, and stuff like that. Local activists will line up to make the same talking points over and over, while the typical working conservative resident will just email their public comments to the council and mayor.

Kharg Island is a pretty significant piece of Iran’s oil export infrastructure. It’s okay to not like Trump’s communication style, but every word he says in this tweet is true. The United States military is incomparable to any other force in history.

I was just watching this:
