For you American Football fans: The “play action pass” is most effective when the quarterback and running back can confuse the defense to believe it is a running play for a moment. Of course, it isn’t much of a bluff if the running back isn’t any good.
Our government has a fabulous track record of being correct about WMDs.
I would respect them, maybe, if they actually just admitted the real reasons and not some pedantic bullshit playbook that keeps being recycled.
Of course you would go this route.
You know exactly what I mean.
The end result will be the same with minor differences along the way as both sides are controlled. Voting is a laughable exercise in futility. Local voting still has validity.
The price for underestimating a country to having the capability of developing nuclear weapons is far worse than overestimating their capability, especially when they are a theocracy that believes that they are instructed by their god to bring in the kingdom.
Accounts vary depending on who you ask regarding Saddam’s alleged WMD’s, but I share your frustration on that whole media narrative and neoconservatives in general. I’m not sure how old you are, but “our government” today, at least at the federal level, is The Trump Administration, which is remarkably different compared to any other administration of my lifetime in policy, action, and rhetoric.
I really don’t, but if I had to guess, I’d guess that you believe an all-powerful cabal of Jews holds all the cards that matter. I’d guess that you mean extremely radical government policies targeting your perceived enemies, no matter how many in society disagree, are the best course of action. I’d guess that you would like to live in National Socialist Germany as an ethnic German would have.
Am I at least close to the Groyper mindset?
Controlled by Israel. There is no difference.
Not many people can rightly divide the word of truth.
Immigration policy seems quite different than me, but what do I know?
Obviously not enough to reach the same conclusions as people who are woke to the the idea that Jews are to blame for all of the problems in society. Or billionaires. Or white people. Or immigrants. Or pick any other identity politic classification of people.
No, that is not what I think - it is not what I meant.
It’s not a teenage “yeah man, that sucks dude” kind of laziness
I imagine if I read Sun Tzu’s the Art of War a bunch of times, I could quote something wise that would fit well here
Instead, Obi Wan to Anakin don’t even try it - I have the high ground. If you think in terms of strategy and positioning it can make sense. Ideally, children wanting sex change operations wouldn’t be an issue. Practically, neutralizing and starving the trend could be better than pushing in a way that activates (or allows) reaction.
At least requiring parental consent is so legally obvious. Not requiring parental consent is so absurd - they are unlikely to try changing that at a federal level.
If you go for the whole thing at the federal level it possibly gets overturned somehow. It is not just that you wasted your energy, it is that more lives are destroyed and you deal with a massive re-slide of the overton window.
The combo of parent and child that agree on mutilating their selves might not be worth saving, especially when you consider that it could risk many children who’s parents wouldn’t have given consent. That is the worst - kids get tricked by adults to destroy their bodies without the parents knowing until after.
It could also be compared to marriage.
So you do see how an extreme can feed into an opposite extreme. In my experience it does not take an extreme though. Anything other than perfect balance can give rise to a reaction. Passing it this way first, and then going for a total ban later if the conditions are right makes more sense to me than going for a total ban right now. It just comes down to the likelihoods of getting opposite reactions.
It’s not that chopping any dicks off is perfect balance, but the farther you are from perfect balance - well, there’s always a balance of sorts. You move strategically from one balance to another. You want a bigger jump but you might overestimate the stability of the foundation, as a purely physical analogy.

this war with Iran and the killing of its leaders are justified and long overdue
But the JOOOOS!!!
Been waiting for the right conditions to ban abortion for 80 years.
I disagree with your entire premise. Don’t compromise with actual evil. Incrementalism on something like a tax policy makes sense, not on child abuse.
you could do similar list about Israeli/US strikes towards Iran.
I agree that this war didn’t evolve from thin air, it’s just an another chapter in the long hatred between Iran and the US.
I don’t really care do people see it justified or not. USA playing hegemony and starting wars is no news to anyone. What I’m interested of is how long the war will go on.
There’s already 1500ish dead iranians (many of them civilians) and world economy is taking a hit. If this gets prolonged, it will hurt.
I’m highly skeptical that POTUS would do such a decision just by listening 3 people. Even Trump.
Can president in US directly command army and declare war without Joint Chiefs of Staff?
That and once our own production and refinement of Venezuelan oil enters a market we participate in we should continue seeing long term decreases given supply and demand.
We took over enough oil to heavily reduce OPEC influence in the western sphere while simultaneously making it scarcer for China and Russia.
Im curious to see if we position as an operator paying Venezuela lease rights, or if we let them drill but heavily influence rates and distribution channels politically.
I’ve understood China doesn’t yet have shortage of oil. Oman, Saudis and Russia still sell large amounts if crude oil to China.
I do think it’s a part of US strategy to take resources from China, but Iran + Venezuela aren’t enough by themselves.
Blocking the Strait of Homruz would have devastating effects to China’s economy, since 40% of oil to China goes through there.
