Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 2)

To me, it’s 100% Pretti. But all you white people look the same to me, so…

I thought there was a nurse shortage in the country. How does this guy find the time to “protest” and still be, supposedly, working as a nurse?

I guess he was done nursing for the day

The interwebz is putting Jussie Smollett’s face on Ilhan Omar.

Gotta love ‘da webz LOL.

He probably was some kind of an activist and protesting on his free time. Not a reason get shot though. But it’s on investigation now, the officers have been detained and they probably get some kind of a sentence.

I haven’t really commented the shootings of Renee and Pretti, since officials should make the conclusions if the use if power was justified.

Surely, USA justice system might be rigged and these won’t be examined properly. Would not be the first case. But time will show.

What I find interesting that left instantly makes him a martyr, and right instantly makes him a complete asshole.

Police kills around 1000 people, and around 100 officers die in duty per year in the US. The difference is now that ICE has done the shootings (the organization is on steroids anyway, buffed and funded to the gills), and the victims were middle class whites.

This is your perspective, and imo not true, at all.

Surely. Most likely not everyone in the left makes him a martyr either. But both narratives are tossed around quite a lot.

Where is the outrage from MSM (except Fox news) over the killing of middle class whites by illegal immigrant criminals?

The left seems desperate to have somebody to rally behind, get some of that good riot juice flowing.

The right points out that when you attack federal law enforcement and create chaos as they try to carry out their lawful duties- you’re going to get hurt.

I do follow more European media. And news about US police violence don’t usually make it to the headlines.

But this has. So I tried to separate what’s so special in it. The reformed ICE as an actor in probably the reason no. 1.

I must be a brainwash victim, because I believe this propaganda, 100%.

ICE as a government bureau has not been reformed.

There is a faction within our government and population that speak of wanting it reformed, but the politicians are just using it as a tool to fire up their fan base/constituency. This is Defund The Police v. 2.0. It has nothing to do with the actual function of ICE, percieved wrongdoing of agents or performance.

It is purely a power play to keep people angry so that the politicians can look like heroes to their constituents.

Its a live action Strawman. Politician doesn’t have a leg to stand on with actual issues, so they create a bad guy to fight against. They amplify any perceived wrongdoing to crimes against humanity, and portray themselves as a force for good- fighting for You! To take down those big bad Rogue Bureaucracies!!!

Then their dumb voters vote.

You notice how Tim Walz suddenly became cooperative after a phone call from Trump?

Thats because there is a mountain of shit and people going to prison with his name on them. Not because of some altruistic or humanitarian interest.

He got pressured from above, and very likely a nice peek at the severity of shit that the DOJ has on him at the moment, with more to come.

Well, he was being an asshole by interfering with the enforcement of long-standing, bipartisan immigration law. Doing it while armed with a pistol makes him an even bigger asshole. All he needed to do was put his hands in the air and allow himself to be arrested and he would be alive. He would get his day in court, which wouldn’t be possible if we were living in a fascist land.

I’m still on the fence about whether the shooting was clearly justified or not, but it wasn’t murder or an execution. At worst it was an error in judgment during a situation of Pretti’s own making.

The modern left is entirely unconnected to reality, which is why they had their narrative locked in roughly an hour after the news broke.

It isn’t an abstract “left”, either. It is every major media outlet in Maine except The Maine Wire (who are only like six people) promoting the hero narrative. It is the Mayor of Lewiston. It is most progressive politicians in Maine. Even our governor leans into this narrative, but she stops short of her Senate Primary opponent Graham Platner’s brazen calls for outright socialist revolution.

Heather Cox Richardson is substacks highest earning author and she tirelessly promotes this narrative. Blackgirlinmaine is probably the most-read blogger in Maine behind Richardson and her latest piece is telling all her readers to do socialist revolution harder (and send more money).

I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Just like in Minnesota, the violence is being encouraged just as news of the biggest fraud ring in state history is breaking, with clear evidence in hand.

Unlike Minnesota, Maine doesn’t seem to have adequate numbers of radicals to set up autonomous zones, stage a good riot, or do much of anything to obstruct ICE.

Lewistons mayor has been more active than ever on social media, even declaring that fascism is here in Lewiston. More media appearances than ever, too. All from a guy who has nothing to say when a shooting happens, a business closes, or when our students can’t even read. When we had our mass shooting he didn’t issue any kind of statement at all for two or three days.

It’s clear to me he gets his talking points from above, and the talking point is that Renee Goid and Alex Pretti were heroes and ICE is the Gestapo.

They’re even releasing the Obama to promote the insurgents.

Leftism is an inversion of reality.

Maybe. But being an asshole (protesting against ICE in this case) is completely okay in open democracy. He harassed ICE’s work, but how much he resisted is debatable. I guess he would have gotten some kind of a penalty from interfering.

Carrying a gun was a weird choice, but I don’t really understand your gun culture in general (carrying them in public etc.).

All of this is not important in legal sense of course. It’s still investigated what exactly happened, but it seems that his gun accidentally went off in one of the officer’s hand, this freaked out other officers and they shot him.

Here in the USA armed citizens are held to what is called a higher standard of care. It basically means you have a responsibility to never create dangerous situations through your own actions because having a gun on you dramatically increases the chance of something tragic happening.

Concealed carry 101 class teaches you this concept. It means you have a duty to walk away from people you don’t like who aren’t actually threatening you. ICE wasn’t threatening Pretti.

For a hypothetical, imagine I’m walking around town and someone insults me. I walk up to him and slap him across the face with my leather glove. He punches me, I punch back. The fight continues and now he’s got me in full mount and picks up a rock. He starts bashing my head in. I draw my gun and shoot him to survive.

I’d likely face a form of manslaughter because I didn’t exercise a higher standard of care when I initiated the violence by slapping him with my glove.

In Pretti’s case, he would have been well within his rights to stand on the sidewalk and shout obscenities as ICE. When he stepped in the street, disobeyed lawful commands, and resisted arrest, he gave up the protection of good conduct. ICE may have made an error in judgment in those few seconds, but it may have fallen within the reasonable person standard as well due to the inherent danger posed by a resisting person armed with a gun.

All he needed to do was peacefully allow himself to be arrested, then he’d get his day in court. In all likelihood, charges would have been dropped.

When politicians and media figures compare ICE to the Gestapo and Trump to Hitler, it makes people believe that there won’t be a fair trial or a day in court, but a death sentence in a concentration camp.

Some idiots will believe them and then act accordingly, as Presti seems to have done.

Makes sense.

Thank you. I can’t stand Springsteen and his music is basic. Severely overrated assclown.

I concur! I always think of him and Bob Dylan just like that. How anyone can enjoy Dylan’s music, his voice, is beyond me.
