Safest I think I’ve ever felt was whenever I would drop by my neighborhood gun store to check out their glorious goodies. The owner/workers ALL would be strolling around with LOADED guns on their hips* and I never imagined anyone being dumb enough to try any funny business. Any would-be robber could easily see that they would be shot where they stood, and with several people working there, armed, someone would always have an angle on them. *This is in TX where we have open carry.

And that is defending her? I would think defending her would manifest itself as defending a political position of hers or defending her character. Saying she has some degree of acumen with regard to working the system isn’t really defending her and certainly isn’t a show of approval. If anything, it’s a comment on how the skill of navigating the system is more valuable than having the attributes and qualities we would like to see in those who govern. It seems like the most valuable attribute for a politician is the ability to get elected. The next most valuable attribute is the ability to get re-elected.
Yes, it is. Imo the very definition of an effective politician is one who knows how to “navigate” the system.

I have a different definition of effective in this context. What you call effective, I call cunning, manipulative and duplicitous. I wouldn’t call a politician effective based on how good he is at lying. Although he never explicitly said the ends justified the means, Machiavelli believed the ends needed to be moral and just, not self serving.
Whatever any of that means. I would like to see where I showed support for Kamala or defended one of her positions, which no one even knows what they are.
