Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

Here’s a time machine to 1994 to remind the youngins that “woke” was around then, too. We just called it “politically correct” and it was mostly confined to fringe groups on college campuses.

Actually incorporating these ideas in government and school policy began in earnest under Obama and kicked into high gear as a response to Trump’s first election.

As I’ve been saying, it is growing increasingly clear we tried to regime change ourselves with the same “color revolution” playbook the state department and CIA used repeatedly overseas.

That’s why it seems like the same script was followed in most of western civilization. It was a script.

Anyway, here’s woke in 1994.

I meant that other countries’ policies are not our business. As in, we don’t decide on their policies. How is “trade lopsided in their favor?” What does that mean?

Our so called friendly countries have high tariffs on American goods and products, along with trade barriers against American products….and this has been going on for decades

IMHO….all trade should be free or fair with no barriers whatsover

All the democrats would vote against it too….

Elon Musk is more or less encouraging an uprising in the UK at the moment, and I’m inclined to agree. Their tyrannical censorship machine is just one of the bullets we dodged here in the USA.

Did he comment on this situation ? Or are you saying just by virtue of him owning X he is doing so? I didnt see any mention of him in the article

I don’t know if he’s commented on the article specifically, but he’s had a lot of general comments related to the UK situation on his X profile lately.

Lets say that Trump dies and JD takes over.

Do y’all think hes actually up to the task of running the country?

Anyone think Trump is gonna drop the hammer on Putin now that his new deadline tp end the war or be hit with “severe tariffs” has expired?

I don’t have a prediction. He just flew a B2 bomber and a pair of F-22’s over Putin’s head, so where do you go from there? Hell if I know.

I’m still hoping the war ends soon, but we’ll soon learn how serious everyone is about what they say they want.

If you think Trump will keep his word, “severe tariffs”, secondary tariffs (aka tariffs on countries that trade with russia) at 100%

During the past 25 years, we’ve had two of the worst Presidents in history. He can’t be much worse.

Funny cause it’s true no matter how you want to look at it

As much as anyone else, yes. Like Trump, he knows how to listen to smart people around him and he’s a better public communicator, especially for Gen X and younger. He’s a bright guy himself, and it shows. How corrupt he is remains to be seen, but he’s definitely a product of wealthy benefactors along with being quite talented himself. Neither of those things are inherently nefarious, either.

Here in Maine our ONLY organized opposition media is The Maine Wire, which is also a nonprofit that’s apparently funded by a benefactor named Leonard Leo. Having looked at their tax returns, it is clear that it is a pretty spartan operation with little reported revenue, so even if Leonard Leo is everything his detractors say and then some, the outcome is that we get actual government watchdog journalism in Maine, which our legacy media diligently avoids doing after receiving millions in government contracts. I’ve got a keen nose for bullshit, and The Maine Wire emanates very little. They get stuff wrong occasionally and sometimes report on stupid shit, but they are doing actual journalism in Maine with well-supported stories.

Now that we’ve established having wealthy benefactors isn’t inherently bad, which it may very well be in Vance’s case, I still think Vance is a good pick. He’s entirely unlike Mike Pence, or just about any other VP in recent memory.

Trump definitely speaks well to Boomers, because he is one, and probably the most famous, well-known Boomer not named Michael Jackson or Michael Jordan. Even that’s arguable in 2025, with Trump as well-known as he is after entering politics, but both MJ’s were definitely worldwide famous phenoms during the 80’s and 90’s. Even if he’s as sick as the people who’ve been wrong about Trump for a decade say he is, I think MAGA will be fine without him, politically-speaking.

I was just a boy during Reagan and haven’t read enough 1980’s history to form an opinion on him, but the whole rest besides Trump were all awful.

I’m still sticking with my original prediction in this thread, which I’m even more confident about now than then. Trump will be remembered as one of the greatest Presidents in history. His second term is organized on a level that’s incomparable to his first, and they are piling up W’s.

As a guide, sure. He can set the tone and direction, but people are gonna people no matter who occupies the office.

We’ve done pretty good so far (as a nation) in spite of many presidents best attempts.

So we’re back 90s Democrats being bad again.

Just the President, not the policies or the rhetoric of the time. My 1990s history is also lacking, but it’s pretty clear Clintons are corrupt in hindsight. There is still plenty to disagree with about the policies and rhetoric of the 90s, but compared to today’s Democratic policies and rhetoric, it was super-extra fascist.

I always have reservations about nuking people from orbit on a President’s whim, but it makes more sense to me when we obliterate people who are actually harming the country. I’m perfectly fine with annihilating foreign agents trafficking poison into the country as a foreign policy in 2025.

The White House is also getting in front of the meme game, which I think is brilliant politics. This isn’t the first time they’ve leaned into some good natured self-mockery on official channels, which is something the Biden Admin was thoroughly incapable of. The left is really very predictable in 2025, so taking an awkward photo and making a joke about it robs a lot of its power from the left, who don’t really know how to meme in the first place. This is because almost everything they do or say is memeable in 2025.

Where have you been that the White House hasn’t been posting memes?

Leverage is a strong tool.

We had trade imbalances and many of them have been effectively rebalanced and all of the things you highlighted were occurring without much progress slowing them, but in many cases areas of leveraged strength have seen curtailing.

Which piece are you mad at?
