Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

Is anyone else getting huge fonts on their phone when they click on a thread? The main page looks normal but as soon as I open a thread it is zoomed way in.

Anyway, here’s a local adult education teacher explaining what anyone who votes in person in Lewiston already knows. Huge numbers of non citizens are voting in Maine elections, which are designed to have no mechanism to prevent it or detect it. It is extremely common and the main reason why Democrats are vehemently against voter id or any other change that would stop their illegitimate and fraudulent scam they have perpetrated on US citizens in Maine.

Yes….it’s frustrating

I’m losing track of too many conversations, but I need to address this. Regarding Trump and what he said…my husband’s response to this when the video came out was that it was “locker room talk.” When I asked if he’d ever said anything like that in a locker room, the conversation came to an end. Of course he would not. My father had a lot of faults, but he would not have grabbed a woman uninvited, nor claimed to have done nor wanted to do. My husband would never do such a thing, and in fact took some shit on this very site for his measured approach in that regard (“beta”). My sons would not behave or joke in this way. I won’t name names because “would” or “would not” could equally be insults on TN, but I believe I could name several posters here who would never consider doing such a thing.

Women doing the same: unacceptable. Wrong. Criminal. Obviously.

So being rapey is okay now because it could be worse? What I am concerned about, having been on the receiving end of rapey behavior multiple times starting in my teens, as have most women I know, is the implicit…I was going to write “approval.” but let’s face it, it goes beyond that to an implied “cool cred” thing…on the part of a powerful leader, who is telling other men how they should want to behave. This message is irrelevant to the majority of men - the good guys, the men I believe are posting in this thread - but the non-majority are out there and I happen to care about a large number of young women, who are making their way through their sexual assault-risk years. Let’s analogize the issue to savings and retirement:

  • Data from the Federal Reserve’s 2022 Survey of Consumer Finances indicated that almost half of U.S. households had no money in retirement accounts.

This thread would, when it serves, like to believe that people can be trusted to make good decisions, but the data shows otherwise. What has this to do with encouraging sexual assault for fun? Nothing, aside from that a great number of people cannot be trusted to act in their own best interest or anyone else’s.

I simply don’t understand the moral relativism. You all scream about the imbalance in divorce rights, and you’re not wrong, but should the case be made that at least she’s not cutting off your penis while you sleep, and the media laughing over it because fuck cheating men?

Lastly, and maybe we haven’t seen the trans impact you fear yet, but I have never ever even once felt threatened or disturbed in any way by a trans person. In contrast, despite my age, I have TWICE in the past ten years found a man’s hand on my ass who was not my husband (both drunk). Nor have any of my friends or the women in therapy with me reported trans issues. Men though? Oh yes. And not just thin, pretty women. Mostly it’s mild - guys getting angry that you’re not into them, guys pressing past the polite zone and forcing awkward/worrisome behavior from women (shoving them away, raised voice), that sort of thing. Most of us worry that if we have to shove an adult male, that he will retaliate in some way.

Do I want creepy “trans” women in my locker room? No. Nor in my sports leagues. I completely agree there. If there have been trans women in my locker room in the past (which, who knows, right?) they have been woman-presenting and circumspect enough that I haven’t known or cared, and obviously they changed where I couldn’t see. I’m prepared to just accept that this is a risk, as I accept that some women in the locker room may be gay and having secret fun at my expense. I find penises pretty interesting, but would like to think no one has been injured or frightened by my curiosity on that score, as I try to hold myself together when husband is naked in my view. (There was a LOT of penis action in The Righteous Gemstones, FYI.)

This is a thing which actively concerns me. You keep seeming to lose track of that being AGAINST something on the right does not make someone FOR everything on the left. It’s disgusting when libs do this (e.g. the women’s rights groups now having banded with every crazy cause under the sun), and is no less disgusting when the right does it.

Moral relativism was nasty with Bill Clinton, and it’s nasty now with Trump. Regardless of what’s going on in Lewiston, ME.

I have never bragged or joked about touching a woman in any way without invitation / consent. I 100% agree with you here.

This also applies to government.

Exactly why I usually describe myself as anarchist and for lack of better / more concise words as even political nihilism falls short of my loathing:

I’m the bastard child of liberty and cynicism. Too individualist to kneel for the left, too ungovernable to march with the right, and I’d rather burn the throne than crown a new king. My politics? Call it shadow libertarianism. Do what you want, live how you want, but if you try to leash me in the name of your “greater good,” I’ll cut the leash and hand it back with blood on it. I don’t play left vs. right; I play me vs. whoever thinks they can own me. Government is just organized theft dressed in suits, and I don’t kneel for thieves. Most call it politics; I call it slavery with prettier chains. My creed is simple: do as you will, and if it harms none, let the world burn around you.

Even though I don’t share your worldview, I appreciate the reflective nature and honesty of this post. I like when people are open how they think and are willing/able to rationalize their stand.

About the topic: I have certain disdain reserved for people who speak about women like Trump did, or how certain social media influencers do (A. Tate as a worst example).

I can discuss about gender roles, and partly understand the traditional approach. But there must be respect involved towards the other sex (and towards people in general).

Uganda or Costa Rica? Which would you choose?

What we know about Abrego Garcia’s case

I agree as well, but it from what I remember about the context of the situation, Trump seemed to be talking about groupies, not random women. He’s no doubt done some sleazy sexual things, and random women have come forward in spades to accuse him of raping them, but none have held up in court except the truly bizarre E. Jean Carroll civil case.

I don’t know the guy at that personal of a level, but the same is true for all but a small handful of local politicians. I do know that #Me Too has resulted in a lot of women feeling empowered to make accusations of rape long, long after it supposedly occurred, and the idea of #believeallwomen is one of the dumbest things our society has ever embraced. If that’s all there was to determining true and false, we wouldn’t need courts. We could just ask a woman.

“Compared to what?” is a question you should always consider in public policy, along with “At what cost?” and “What hard evidence do you have.” Thomas Sowell’s 3 questions are never far from my mind when I’m thinking about politics, whether local, state, federal, or international.

Compared to Clinton, Trump was a pretty easy vote for me, albeit with some reluctance. Compared to Biden, it was a no-brainer. I would have crawled through the alleys of Lewiston to cast my vote for Trump in 2024, and thankfully we dodged the Biden bullet, then the Harris bullet after Our Democracy™ happened, then the actual bullet.

And here he is, taking active steps to defund woke and seemingly drown the whole concept in a bathtub, along with all of his other positive policies and achievements in his 2nd term. He also does stupid crap I don’t like, such as this:

Like most of his ill-conceived ideas, it shouldn’t take long for the courts to smack this down, if someone attempts to prosecute a US Citizen. I don’t foresee that happening under this order, which doesn’t “ban” flag burning, because the President can’t do that. What’s more significant to me is how this will be applied to foreign nationals living in the USA, which is fair game in my opinion.

What sane country would welcome an immigrant who wants to overthrow the government, foment revolution, stir up hatred of people who live there, and otherwise be there to create problems?

If I went to China, or Somalia, or Angola, or even took a quick drive to Canada to legally enter those countries and then call for an anarchist revolution to overthrow their government, recruit young students to my cause, start a religion around the idea, burn their flags in public, or other activities like that, would anyone be shocked if I was deported?

Even though there’s merit to this idea, I don’t like how the Trump administration handled this. Like all of the rest of what he does, we’ll have to wait and see whose rights get deprived in a way that a long line of activist lawyers will be there to work pro bono for, then see how it all plays out.

Closing in on 5 years of Trump governance, I don’t know of too many US Citizens whose rights he deprived. He’s got a lot of work to do if he’s going to ever catch up with Hitler.

Costa Rica looks like they had a major improvement after building a massive prison to lock up the people who terrorize society. I’d probably pick them and start learning Spanish, ASAP.

Here’s the “Maryland Dad” and Democrat social justice symbol explaining his challenges with adapting to Ugandan life and a foreign language through an interpreter.

I’ve met some lovely people from Uganda and other African countries. The honest, hardworking people who have moved to Lewiston to legally carve out a life for themselves typically have way better manners (and often better English) than native New Englanders. These people are victims of mass migration and DEI, too.

Related to the Kilmar situation, there was a shootout in Rumford last week, too. 3 “Maine men”, described as Hispanic males, are still on the run.

What’s with the guys from Norway?

There are a ton of small towns named after other countries and foreign cities in Maine.

Norway is a town that is part of Oxford County’s largest urban center.

Are there many women who believe this? We’d likely have to scour the earth for the smattering of men who’ve had this happen to them. Amongst the rest, a hefty chunk would consider it a blessing from God.

Im so tired of this fucking conversation.

You know why we dont tell you about fight club?
Because you (women) lose your shit when you find out what we’re actually talking about.
We never mean it, but it always sounds like you mean it when said out of context.

I’m in a chat group with a bunch of dudes that talk about some of the most vile shit out there… and they’re all loving fathers who treat their wives/girlfriends well.

it is literally LOCKER. ROOM. TALK.
Meaning it doesnt mean anything, its just shit thats meant to be funny, and its shit YOU WERE NEVER INTENDED TO HEAR.

Your husband stopped talking about it because you’d judge him the same fuckin way, and EVERY guy knows it. So we cant say shit to defend him or else we look like we’re just as bad.
For defending a joke that was never meant to be taken seriously and out of context and publicly broadcasted to the world.

For real, this “grab em by the pussy” shit is so overplayed.

And yet not taken seriously. Ever.
Except by the Mens Rights Activists you claim not to understand.

mOrAl ReLaTiViSm lol what a fuckin joke.

Curious on the general thoughts on a couple new developments this week:

  • US Gov taking a 10% stake in Intel
  • Flag Burning EO

Personally, I disagree with the Intel decision and don’t care about the EO. I think the wording protects them from violating the 1989 Supreme Court ruling, and will be difficult to prove or enforce. Seems like throwing a bone to the base to rile up patriotism. Thoughts?

Sure, but I think “division” is the crux. What is the penis chopping compromise?

The issue I take is the inherent dishonesty and coverups from the left. From the GPS Fusion collusion hoax attempting a coupe through weaponized DAs and court systems to schools convincing impressionable children they are gay giraffes or some shit and hiding it from parents, there is a reason why we see pushback.

For the record you’re more interested than me. I don’t generally interact with these people but if I do he’s still a he. It’s just feels dishonest and gross otherwise and I’d rather be true to myself than a strangers delusion, but to each their own. My tolerance, or indifference, is that they can have a costume party, but it’s still a costume party. And I don’t want to play.

Will you please provide specifics? I agree Trump has been a catalyst for the unacceptable but with the unacceptable piece coming from the other side as briefly mentioned above, and so far there have been 0 consequences.

If you are mostly single while working as a dive bar bouncer, yeah it can be fairly common. I can only imagine what it must be like for actual celebrities like Trump, or The Beastie Boys back in the day, or Wilt Chamberlain.

The darnedest things happen when you work the door and interact with every single depraved person who shows up. If only I learned to play guitar, I might have had even more groupies.

Only one was particularly unwelcome, but I managed to shake off the trauma of being aggressively felt up by a gal who probably had “Property of…” tattooed on her body somewhere.

Related to sexual aggressiveness and boundary-crossing depravity, I recently saw this video of a very young girl telling a grown migrant man to leave her alone while brandishing a knife and hatchet. This took place in Scotland, and the young girl was charged with some form of criminal weapons possession or brandishing.

The whole UK seems like it’s a powder keg ready to blow up, which is unsurprising since they’ve lost their collective minds. This little girl doesn’t seem like a dangerous person to me, she seems like a person who understands that she’s a target for dangerous people.

On its face I don’t like it in principle, but it didn’t begin with Trump. Under the CHIPS Act in 2022, the Biden Administration gave out grants to Intel. Trump restructured that agreement, using the remaining grant money plus an additional 2.2B to purchase the stake valued at 8.9B. In that context, it is a better deal for the public than simply giving Intel money for nothing in return.

Covered above, TLDR; I don’t particularly like it.

I know a guy from church/Sunday school. He coaches little kids soccer through the church. Coached a couple of my kids. AMAZING guy. Such a good guy that it makes you feel bad about yourself. Could never imagine him even saying Damn. Played poker with him one time and holy shit! My mouth hit the floor. Dude is vile. It was awesome.

I don’t like either. We can’t afford to have Intel fail as a country for strategic reasons, but I don’t know if this helps prevent that.

And the flag-burning thing is just dumb and unnecessary.

it’s another trap setting for the dems to fall into

The wording of the EO is the same as the Supreme Court ruling, nothing will change here except the dems will now have to defend flag burning and inciting riots and violence

Yes, men at the top.

Saw that on X/Twitter, amongst other footage of madness happening all over the West. It was a topic of discussion in a group chat there too.
