Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

I watch it happen all the time, but things are way shittier in Maine than in Finland, and getting shitter all the time after being quite peaceful and safe like Finland not so long ago. That makes a lot of people ready to reconsider political ideas when it has been one-party dominance for so long.

I’d say I’m fully red-pilled at this point, or at least firmly anti-socialist (as defined in practical functioning terms, not strictly “seizing the means of production”). It is impossible for me to see anything but disaster in Maine, because I’m watching it unfold around me in observable and measurable ways.

I was never a full-fledged communist, but I was a Chomsky acolyte and pretty hardcore progressive 20 years ago, especially with gun laws. Adopting a new political worldview is possible, but only if people are ready to take the antidote to unreason, which has always been facts laid out in a compelling and honest manner.

There’s a reason why every socialist movement in history is powered by youth. Young people are very idealistic, along with the deadly combination of ignorance and confidence. They are always ready to believe the people who say they have the answers to society’s problems, and people are always ready to claim to have them. It really seems to attract sociopaths and narcissists.

The average age of the Bolsheviks was only around 25 in 1917. National Socialists were a bit older, but still quite young with an average age of 35 among Nazi party members in 1933. They were all quite young, especially considering a decade of activism preceded Nazi seizure of power.

Maine’s Democratic Socialist revolution is a bit different, as it seems to be powered by white women of all ages, along with the “marginalized group” demographic they’ve both created (by promoting transgenderism) and imported by using public funds to resettle a new voting bloc in the jurisdiction. Many of our policies are justified because we’re supposed to feel “empathy” towards anyone who the Democratic Socialists define as “marginalized”, then allow ourselves to be taxed into oblivion while politically-connected grifters make out like bandits.

Like @Bauber said, a backlash of biblical proportions is awaiting them if they keep this up, because the men don’t want it, and the men are much kinder than anyone has given them credit for… So far, at least.

That’s part of why I spend so much time on local politics these days. It is much easier to make objective statements of fact about what’s happening all around you, whereas so much of national politics is shrouded to normal folks. The veil of secrecy is what is difficult to pierce, and weasel words that are “technically true” remain a very dangerous weapon.

Case-in-point. I’ve now reviewed all of the public records for the grant application to Lewiston’s “low barrier” homeless shelter concept. Lewiston’s Economic and Community Development Director hired a consulting firm to do a financial analysis of the nonprofit who was awarded 1.2 million dollars in city funding last week, making them eligible for another 2.5 million in state funding. In their communications, Lewiston’s ECD Director gave very clear, precise instructions to the consultant to NOT make any recommendations.

This gives the city council the cover they need to move ahead with a financial disaster without anyone being able to say that they ignored expert opinion.

Having reviewed all of the financials myself, there is absolutely no way this will not require additional millions in public money, and my government has lied to me about it the entire way, while making “technically true” statements the entire time.

It is the same basic thing the media does. They phrase things in such a way that their words are mushy enough to entertain different possibilities, all while they know exactly what their plan is. Maybe not the low-level elected officials, most of whom are quite dull, but Party leadership is frighteningly intelligent and cunning.

Bingo.

Related to my above screed that was hastily typed and riddled with errors, I’m hoping @bauber can point me in the right direction on an anomaly I’ve found.

I’m assuming a coherent explanation exists for the ongoing operation of a charity with no income since 2006. MaineHousing (EIN: 20-4042675) is the entity that awarded 2.5 million dollars in state funding to a start-up nonprofit in Lewiston with horrendous bookkeeping and a whole lot of shady actors involved.

A quick examination on the IRS website shows no income, ever. $0.00 reported in all tax years, yet they are somehow handing out millions in state taxpayer money.

I’m assuming this is some quasi-governmental thing that I don’t understand, deliberately set up to be as opaque as possible to the public.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Grok wasn’t helpful in explaining this, despite multiple prompts.

Wrt Grok, did you try both the Deepsearch and Think options?

Or, you could pay $30 for SuperGrok and try out Grok 4 for a month.

Or, you could also try asking datarepublican.

Speaking as someone who thinks golf is a game and not a sport…not hating, just an opinion, I’ve tried it enough to know one needs a pretty decent amount of hand-eye coordination, not to mention a strong core to hit long distances.

Watching video of Trump playing golf in Scotland, it’s unbelievably laughable that raging Leftists have (and still do) tried to denigrate Trump’s overall fitness at 79 years old.

Judging a book by it’s cover, I’m gonna say that Lawrence Summers is totally a Perv.

No, I did not further invite the spirit of Satan into my home by patronizing Grok directly.

That’s why I’m asking @Bauber about the whole set of shenanigans. He still knows things that Grok doesn’t know, as do I. We must guard this treasure if we’re to have any hope.

Deepsearch and Think options are part of regular Grok.

Wrt the law, I saw a post recently where (IIRC) some partner at a big law firm said AI can crank out briefs in hours that first to 3rd year associates would take days to write (and with no mistakes LOL). The world is changing before our eyes.

AI seems to make up cases to cite, though.

Two points I’d like to make -one, a year is an eternity (slight, but only slight, exaggeration) wrt AI development; two, Stanford has law school graduates, every year, that need employment…

add: in 2025 alone, Grok has gone from version 2 to version 3 (Feb 17, still free) and now version 4 (July 9, subscription required)

Yes. Surely.

But what I meant is that it actually is impossible to be 100% rational or objective (or always right for that matter). It would be unhuman.

Every pill has it’s side effects.

And yes. Some hardcore communist idealist (or anyone strongly committed to one cause) will have more blind spots or contradictions in their worldviews, but we are all trapped in confirmation biases, in our feelings and cognitive dissonances. Wise people fight them, but you can’t really ever be free.

Well said.

Judging a book by it’s cover, totally not a Perv:

Rumor has it Chloe will be speaking at Trump’s nomination in 2028.

I poked around this morning and figured out that MaineHousing is a subsidiary of The Maine Housing authority that operates under a different ein, but still can’t get an explanation for why the organization I screenshotted even exists.

At any rate, some folks are getting a lot of public money whose accounting suggests either gross incompetence or deception. The government doesn’t care about that, it cares about turning Lewiston into an even more attractive destination for people who want to get high on the streets.

All of the folks involved are quite closely connected.

as much as I believe this to be true… his avoidant and diffusing comments about the Epstein situation is doing a tremendous amount of harm to everyone on the right.

It brings me great joy that these false idols are mortal. Within time….as for all….dust to dust.

I’m still in the Kayfabe camp. Trump and his team know how to play the media like a fiddle at this point. It’s a way different team than his first term. The whole thing with Elon seemed orchestrated and Musk is smart enough to know the difference between “Trump is in the files”, and “Trump is a pederast”. Of course he’s in the files.

Meanwhile, a lot keeps getting done that I never thought I would see from a president, much of which is highly impactful in Lewiston. The latest EO on homelessness stops federal funding for the disastrous policies Maine Democrats adopted here.

I signed up for Truth Social today because that’s where Trump posts and boy, does he post.

It looks like they are building a real case against Obama, Hillary, et al. Even if it doesn’t end up with jail time, presenting a well supported story of what happened will be massively impactful to the public conversation.

J.R.R. Tolkien was also filled with joy at this prospect. He called our mortality “The gift of Iluvatar”, which was the Elvish word for God, aka Eru in Middle Earth.

Interestingly, Trump is very close to Aragorn’s age in the books when Frodo surmised that he “looked foul but felt fair”, after the innkeeper at The Prancing Pony was telling the hobbits FAKE NEWS about Gondor’s rightful political leader.

Look, I’m all for admiring people you want to be like, but some people need to quit the cult mentality.

Or maybe…..I should just accept the fact that people can be that pathetic and not worry about it.

You know what…. option 2 it is.

I’m assuming you’re talking about Trump as a cult leader, which has always been a bit perplexing to me. I just see him as an unexpectedly good President.

Cults use lies and manipulation to extract wealth from their members, along with anyone else they can scam, typically involving some really weird sex stuff with kids as well. Which political party fits that description on an actual policy and institutional level?

Historically-speaking, leaders in Socialist states get elevated to cult leader status as infallible prophets of The People. Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, the Kims, Castro, etc. Obama long bragged about having a “scandal-free” presidency, which says a lot more about our mainstream media than it does about his disastrous administration that introduced DEI and paved the way for transgender indoctrination of innocent children today.

Trump has always struck me as the most human President of our lives, partially because of all the negative coverage he received from the minute he declared his candidacy, as well as his unprecedented level of blunt communication. Meanwhile, a compelling case is being made that Obama was, in fact, the great deceiver of our time, perhaps the greatest deceiver in American history.

Kind of like Sauron, he managed to present himself as fair and wise, fooling many of us while he architected a play for total domination we’ve watched play out over the last 15 years. Like every other Socialist leader, state-run media presented him as infallible, wise, and beyond criticism.

I agree, people need to quit the cult mentality when it comes to politics, but to do that, you need to realize that you’re in a cult, which most cult members don’t acknowledge.

This is one of the weirdest Trump comparisons I’ve seen someone stretch to make.

It breaks down pretty quickly though. Aragorn liked older women.
