Peter F. Hamilton’s Night’s Dawn trilogy
Yeah but how much could those guys squat?
Thanks, but that’s not it.
Looks promising though, borrowed the first book to try.
He’s representing X as a place of free speech.
X has around 600 million users. US has 300 million citizens. So he is a big deal.
This was not excactly what I meant.
My original point was that if you represent yourself as a protector of free speech you need to accept the fact that it includes stuff you don’t like.
Combined maybe 100 lbs, but with their money infinity. ![]()
My opinion…this is somehow connected to the Mossad, other governments in Europe, England, the Middle East and the U.S.A.
i say it all needs to be exposed and let the chips fall where they may
I think he does that pretty good. I don’t really use the platform, but I end up seeing quite a bit from it.
I’m trying to find it. Feed, or Mind Games, maybe? Or, Profession, by Isaac Asimov?
Agreed. Until recently, a concerted “new world order” existence lived largely in deep conspiracy circles. I believe there is an element of truth to it, as consolidating power makes sense. How it’s really structured is anyone’s guess but it’s hard to deny things like the Bilderbergs, Trilateral Commission, Bohemian Grove et cetera.
I’m totally fine with an approach burning it all to the ground and starting over.
O’ Great One, you are The Master!
As soon as I saw Isaac Asimov, I knew that had to be it, and it is!!! Profession, a novella -since I thought it might’ve been a short story rather than a book (I think I probably read it in his book of short stories Nine Tomorrows), that made perfect sense. And it also makes sense that since I read it decades ago, I confused Asimov with Heinlein.
Asimov was one of my favorite authors of all time, and I read all his books ravenously. The Foundation series was epic. I stole my favorite philosophy quote from his book The Gods Themselves -“Against stupidity, the Gods themselves contend in vain”.
Thanks for the assist!
add: Asimov’s book I, Robot was made into a movie, and it’s pretty obvious (to me) Elon Musk’s Optimus robots look like the ones from that movie; ergo, Musk is both a Heinlein and Asimov fan; ergo, his grand plan to ensure Civilization by expanding outward from Earth is probably his version of Foundation and Empire…
The same low life lump of shit liberals inspire to emulate
I triggered a LOT of local liberals yesterday. I doubt many have read much Marx, but they don’t like it when I point out the lack of financial data on local nonprofits who inexplicably received funds donated for mass shooting survivors.
Plus a homeless shelter operator currently asking the City of Lewiston for 1.2 million dollars got super pissed when I pointed out that he wasn’t in good standing with the state of Maine and had no financial data available for previous years.
Fucking with liberals isn’t just fun, it’s important.
The Foundation is the foundation of space opera.
Amazing series. Unfortunately the TV adaptation was not up to bar.
I’m a huge Scifi -fan and Asimov has had great influence to that. Not all his books (he did wrote a shit ton) are great literature, but The Foundation and couple other series really hit the mark.
If you want to read some ”modern Asimov”, try Adrian Tchaikosvky. A ton of material, but the best of his books are really good. For quality space opera I have bunch of other recommendations though.
Sorry for OT. Hahah.
Eh there’s nothing that’s really TOTALLY off-topic when we’re talking about Donald Trump. It is the way all Trump threads have gone for the last 10 years. The only thing different about this one is that it is the only one.
In past years we’d have multiple threads going at once, many started by people who have no record of weight training on this site. I’m not sure where all of those guys went, but I’m beginning to suspect they might have been funded by USAID money as paid trolls working a variety of sites. Or maybe they finally realized that Trump is not, in fact, possessed by the ghost of Adolf Hitler.
Who knows?
I’ve been the most off-topic out of anyone as I document the spiral of Democratic dysfunction here in Lewiston.
If a bar in the town across the river is any indication, the local police might FINALLY be doing something about the total asshole who has been terrorizing our town for years while he takes advantage of the publicly-funded benefits offered with no strings attached here in Lewiston. Here’s their take on the man.
Here’s my barber’s interaction with him last week. Straight out of Mad Max, with makeshift armor and everything.
They’ve ZERO self awareness… im afraid its all in vain
I don’t think it is. In Maine and especially Lewiston the margins of victory are often very slim, and things just keep getting shittier and shittier for everyone.
I’m not even the best writer on our little local spot. We have a lot of locally important eyes on us and we have eyes on other parts of Maine, too. It’s a whole ecosystem of thoughts and ideas, and the Democrats absolutely suck at doing anything about it.
Maine is ready for a counter-revolution to wind back the last 15 years or so, and I believe implementing voter ID in November could flip the state red instantly, simply based off of victory margins. Not every city and town, just most, plus Jared Golden’s congressional seat next go-round.
When the fuckery ends I’ll get yet another new hobby, but local-rabble rousing has been a good one for me lately. Plus hot bitches in my dm’s.
Good fuck them rejects
You know, thats no joke.
When I had a go at the mexican restaurant on our local page for blaming Trump for tarrifs and the cost of food, one paid douche came at me, and I made him look like an imbecile pretty handily.
And there was an avalanche of
and
, mostly from some very nice looking women.
No dm stuff, but I wouldn’t expect much with pics of wife & kid all over my profile.
