Something tells me you’ve never been to a Trump rally. You’ll meet a lot of very smart people and a lot of average people and a lot of not so average people who can give you all kinds of answers you probably wouldn’t expect.
I don’t often find myself confusing business owners, engineers, doctors and you-name-it with simpletons who couldn’t possibly explain their voting choice in coherent terms.
I think the average Trump voter could easily tell you a few things about him they don’t like or had apprehensions about. Some are just team Trump and that’s about the extent of it.
I cant imagine myself every going to any political rally. I dont see the appeal personally. I had a Bernie rally a 6 minute walk from my house in 2016 and had 0 interest in that too
Alright, believe it or not I do work out (and sleep and have a life outside haha) so perhaps I will be back tomorow, this did take up a considerable amount of time today though and I dont know if I’ll have that again tomorrow
I think you are talking about the clip where they argue and talk past each other a bit.
You might mean around the 1 min mark. If that’s it, it’s not very clear
Could be both
They were talking past each other
“I’m talking about what he did in office”, no, he wasn’t
It’s not a major showing against Trump for Vance to stumble a little in an aggressive interview for a few seconds
You’ve got a point here in this video
He does clearly specify a difference between people that came into and are destroying villages in USA vs an enemy from within
It probably helps that they probably didn’t watch every word so critically in the first place and don’t remember it the way you do. Even if the way you remember it is more accurate in some cases
It would usually be wiser to give Trump the benefit of the doubt than his opponents in the media
Yeah I remember that. It wasn’t just that one video either - that was his actual verbal stance for a while. But he didn’t implement that and I don’t think he ever really intended to.
He meant to communicate what he communicated but he didn’t mean to implement it that way imo
Yeah he will take an extreme in a rule breaker fashion opposite of political correctness and surf the wave all the way to the shore. May God bless him for it (say Amen)
America can’t keep freedom of speech if people don’t get more precise and intentional with our words and thoughts. Trump plays games and lies to the people who might be unworthy of the truth, which seems to be the kindest thing he could do at this point
Don’t blame Trump
It’s the fault of the media and us commoners. More truth telling all around would be nice, and he highlights the lacking beautifully
No, well, almost
If you were quoting only the bolded part, then it might be yes
The italics part of his quote some might do, but people here haven’t
Alright last post for tonight. This one illustrates the lack of awareness perfectly.
The Democrats HAD JOE ROGAN until the other week. He was a Bernie supporter until he finally realized that the Democrats went bat-shit crazy and he endorsed Trump, who he had long refused to have on the show or help in any way.
They don’t see their policies and rhetoric as the problem, at all.
It kept getting deemed unconstitutional in some way so he kept revising it but he attempted it 5 times. This was not simply a rhetorical device to “communicate what he communicated but he didn’t mean to implement it that way imo” - He tried to implement it over and over and over again and left what he could in place until Biden rescinded it in 2021
Not only did you not think he meant it, you didnt even know he actually did it 5 times. Can you see how this drives people who dont support him insane?
When Trump says things I take him at his word that he will actually do them, call me Trump Deranged I suppose. But I take the guy at his word and I dont like what I hear often.
Obviously, because the original idea was so legally dead in the water from the jump he had to find some way to do it by other means. But make no mistake he meant to totally and completely ban all Muslims from entering the country, this was just as close to it as he could get in the framework of the American legal system
Yes I agree, sorry for the hostility but that was at the tail end of all those other conversations about how Trump wasnt actually saying the thing he said, and then I had to stumble upon the most notable example of “well sure he said that but he didnt actually mean it and would never actually do it” when he absolutely meant it and absolutely tried it as best as he could
Absolutely not, I have a very good sense of what they actually mean when they say stuff and know the kind of things they would do if and when they get elected, regardless of what they campaign on. And mostly I like the way they handle the confrontational media
…I hope that comes off sounding quite insane, because thats how insane it sounds to me when I hear that kind of stuff about Trump
Of course I expect them to at least try to enact the things they campaign on (so did 73 million Americans this time around apparently), but my expectation of their implementation is tempered by the political climate and configuration of congress as well.
For example: I dont hold Trump not getting the wall against him because he didnt have a sympathetic congress, and I dont expect universal healthcare reform if Rs control the house and senate even if a D president campaigns on it… But If conditions were such that the congress was controlled by Ds I would likely expect them to try it just like Trump tried to get his wall
