Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

I Love this take. Well said.

Trump ran up the debt 8 trillion dollars in his 4 years, and the last time the American people got a check back from GWB it was because Clinton got us into a surplus (I bet this was bad somehow and a socialist surplus though)

Seems to me we would need to not only get trump to not only balance the budget but run a surplus such that he could send money back out to people

Or the much more believable scenario he just prints money, signs his name on it, and calls it a DOGE refund while exploding the debt even more

Combine that with his tariff war and I don’t see things getting cheaper or more money in my pocket, I await being proven wrong though

Alright the kids are out of school so my time to argue with strangers who are wrong on the internet is gone for the day. Have fun all!

I gave you a like for knowing how to use “you’re” vs “your”.

OMG. Granted you still spewed the usual leftist approach i.e. accusations with zero evidence… But you actually managed to throw out a “friendly” insult without your playbook of adopting the unearned condescension of someone with some sort of superior intellect and knowledge -another usual leftist approach. Congrats.

Trump’s apparent moves to abolish the income tax without a viable alternative in place are concerning. It is unlikely that tariffs could fully replace the income tax. Nations shouldn’t be relying on tariffs as a primary source of revenue anyway, because their job is to discourage imports. If tariffs work, then tariff revenue should be decreasing.

Trump’s moves in this realm seem foolhardy.

Trump is dealing with Putin like how he had to deal with the mafia dons in his real estate days.

add: ^^ which always starts with a little bit of flattery/respect

That’s my simplistic, unsophisticated apolitical take.

It isn’t wrong.

I’m dealing with the rainbow mafia here in Maine, and they are a ruthless bunch whose scam is far more sophisticated than the Mafia.

Whole buncha crooks out there.

Just one post without referencing Maine. Just one.

My final point -what the pro Ukraine people should really be upset about is that if Trump gets what he wants, the US will be getting repaid what it gave out, plus interest, and with stuff that is actually valuable, not paper money.

Though I tend to believe it is a little much, it includes the important message that local politics is extremely important.

Ain’t gonna happen, as these events are all inextricably linked.

This is also my idea dumping ground for the Book About Lewiston.

As a matter of topical relevance, Maine is an excellent state to examine as this massive state vs. federal showdown is unfolding.

I would have imagined everyone knows what to expect from me by now. Plus, shit is getting pretty wild here. Lots of talk about punching Nazis flying around, and lots of anger at what is coming from the Feds.

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who pops their head up gets attacked somehow. Calls to employers and business destruction are the current modus operandi.

What happens with these nutjobs when the Fed deadline passes? You can find out here.

Yeah, this is pretty funny.

How are they the same?

Like who? Ivan the Terrible?

Don’t give anyone else any ideas.

How are they the same?

Nuclear missiles minutes away from Moscow.

Like who? Ivan the Terrible?

No, like Vladimir Putin, who is nothing like Ivan the Terrible.

Ukraine has been our friend, historically?
Our friend?

They’re both incredibly corrupt. One just has more power than the other.

For real.
We paid for the fuckin thing under the agreement that we could use it freely and charge vessels for using it.

Then they went back on that deal.

Take that shit back. We lost American lives for it.

IDGAF about greenland, but if they want to join - I think they’d be a cool addition. Cant say I’ve ever heard a single Greenlander’s perspective on it, though.

I don’t fuckin want canada. Their conservatives are more liberal than our democrats. The snow mexicans can stay up there.
They are really polite and good at hockey. No hate, I just dont want them.

I have no desire for Canada to join, but it could be a good long-term win.

They actually have a TON of potential, but are burdened by Socialist ideology.

Like Germany and the UK are today. That’s no small thing at all.
