You know what the demographic used to look like even 20 years ago. It was VERY white.
Canada is significantly less white than these states. I would attribute that mostly to failed immigration policy, which has affected your state as it did my home state.
*no, I don’t care what color people are, I care that we only invite immigrants that share our common values into our protection.
The small amount of immigration in both Maine and New Hampshire have drastically changed the politics of both, and Canada is far more socialist than people realize.
I really do not want them to join us. I promise you the left would win every single election from then on out.

And New Hampshire is beautiful. I used to ride my bike from MA to NH. The gun laws are pretty lax, I wonder if that will change.

That’s a point nobody’s brought up yet, and I think it would depend on how Canada is incorporated into the US. If as one state, they would get two Senators and a few less representatives than California. Same with electoral votes, which would probably have the greatest overall impact.

Electoral college votes are based on population, right?
And the population is gauged by census…
And California counts illegals on it’s census…
So when they get yeeted back to mehico, California’s electoral college weight should drop drastically, right?
I suspect at least 8 million illegals in California alone. It very well could be significantly higher, considering it’s a whole sanctuary state.

Maine goes to great lengths to obscure this information. The best information I have gotten is from my friend who works for ICE, normally doing international sex trafficking work in cooperation with foreign governments.
Don’t quote me, but I think he said 15-16k in Maine who are known to the immigration court system, with few entering the court system at all in the last six years or so.
Just on the eyeball test, knowing what Somalians look like quite well, I wouldn’t be surprised if 10 percent of the people in Maine are here illegally right now. 100,000+ seems entirely plausible in a state of 1.3 million, by census data at least.
This poll was just released. Today is not a good time to be a known Trump voter in Maine.

Their voter turnout is 1/3 conservative/right wing.
In the US, the left has gone too far left for their voters (kind of… if we’re being optimistic). In canada, they really haven’t.
They are VERY left leaning.

If the Democratic Party as it exists today existed in the 1960’s, I doubt that would have represented more than 1% of the population.

But im saying that the liberal politicians in canada get 2/3 of the votes.
You know how we talk about california having a supermajority of liberal voters? they are about 2/3 democrats.
We’d be sealing our fate if we let canada become a state. Not in a million years.
My problem is the use of the word “leader” to describe Putin, or any dictator that rules by dictating directives and drives the people in his desired direction.
A “leader” is someone who presents a vision and points the direction to reach that vision, and people follow him.
We have had many Presidents, yet only a few were “leaders.” IMO, George Washington is our greatest leader.

These people are fucking nuts. I spoke to a city councilor today, and it was a mind-boggling conversation. I asked them to issue a statement condemning the use of words like “Nazi” and “fascist” to characterize Mainers.
I was told that it is not in their purview to address either the rhetoric itself or the political extremists targeting a Lewiston mother and her business, including booking false appointments, doxxing, online review bombing, and filing false IRS paperwork in her name.
They aren’t leaving her alone.
This is a mother whose child was beaten on a bus and then removed from the bus while being told it was the assailants’ right to ride the bus, but not her daughters. This reeks of political retaliation from our school board chair.
Things THE SAME city council, not past councils, will issue strong statements on include Gaza and a group of masked, unidentified people, possibly feds, who showed up in our park and waved Nazi symbols, harming nobody. Nobody knew 'em, haven’t seen 'em since
Actual acts of destruction against actual Lewiston residents running actual businesses in Lewiston is apparently not in their purview. I spoke to my friend in the Feds tonight and this might become a bigger deal if it continues.
The same kind of things happened in the south, and we’re only a month in to the “resistance” here in Maine. Had the races on the school bus been reversed, and three white students brutally beat a black child, then the black child was removed from the bus, a Hollywood movie would be in the making as we speak.
Heather gets treated like a second-class citizen in Maine, because she is one. That’s what they really mean by “equity”. That’s the Democratic Socialist difference.
Can I start harassing all of the city council and ruining their businesses as long as I claim I am fighting “white supremacy”? Something tells me there would be a different reaction to that.
