I wanted to separate this post from my personal posts since it has little bearing. For the fist time, I started a blast of 400 mg Test Cyp for 12 weeks. I now am returning to my standard 200 mg protocol. During that blast cycle, I doubled by T and my AI.
Now my questions:
What can I expect in terms of physical and emotional changes?
On average, how long does it take for the body to return to its previous TRT levels?
I know we have an “OFF TOPIC- STEROID” forum but I figure someone here has traveled down this path.
This was part of my post in another forum from 2 weeks ago;
I just finished up a 12 week cycle of Test Cyp. 200 mls 2x/wk. I was previously on a TRT program of Test Cyp. 200 mls/wk. for about 2 years. I ran anestrozole at 1 ml with each injection. I did not alter my training or diet significantly other then dropping heavy squats due to a groin pull and upped my protein slightly to get a minimum of 1g/bw.
Here is what I found; my body weight stayed at about 210, I had an increase in arms of 3/8", 1" on chest, 1/2" off waist, no change in upper legs(due to injury.)Although I had little size gains in my calves or forearms, I did see some noticeable definition. I really started to get more vascular at the 8 week mark. I am now returning back to my normal TRT program. In all I am pleased with the results and plan on running another cycle, maybe at the end of the year.

Any strength gains ?
Weights go up bench / deads etc
I wouldn’t say it’s putting on weight if you have already been there but it did help me get back to the best bench in years. My back work, lower cable and lat pull downs went where I have never been. I really wish I didn’t have that groin issue; I have always enjoyed having the steel on my back and I bet there would have been some serious gains there.

Give it a couple of weeks but you will get emotional and turn into a big wuss. But just remember it’s all in your head and keep lifting strong.
Shit! I’m already an emotional guy. I’ll take “BIG WUSS” as long as the big is still there.
You likely won’t see much in the way of “big emotional wuss” unless you let your E2 get out of whack. Your strength will slowly taper back down closer to pre-blast levels, but you should keep a good bit of it based on the increased muscle. You should be back to normal T levels in a couple of weeks. Keep protein intake up during this time.
If you really want to get a lot out of a blast, go 500mg/wk minimum and add another compound or two in the mix, and up your calories CLEANLY. There’s no reason to dirty bulk.

Thanks catfish74! That’s most of what I was hoping for in terms of gain retention. Ya, everyone has recommended adding another compound but I have zero sources since I lift at home by myself. Don’t let that fool you, I have a nice set up. Maybe I could stop by the local gyms and get to know some people.
Looking back on my 400 mg run, it now makes me laugh when I hear people say, “Ya, gotta be hittin 600 mg to see anything”. Even with an AI I was so worried about growing a “C” cup! I am glad I did start light and will ramp it up next year.
