TRT Long Game - How Long Can You Be On For?

Mixed opinions out there on the shortened lifespan but it looks like there’s research out there contradicting the possibility of a shorter lifespan (and supplied in this thread). Lot’s to read in this regard. Thank you.

Thank you.

I don’t have one… to old to have kids at this point if that’s what you’re referring to. Thank you.

If you abuse TRT there is certainly a ‘possibility’ for a shorter life span. I just don’t see it for the average patient. There are all sorts of complications you can have from low T or an imbalance of T vs E. TRT corrects that. It also helps users maintain muscle mass as they age and I am not talkling about weight lifting, just normal muscle mass. This will lead to a more active and mobile lifestyle in later years. TRT users also get frequent labs and screenings that the average male may NEVER get. Ask your buddies the last time they had a full CBC/CMP with lipid panel and I bet most of them couldn’t tell you.

I’ve heard that donating a kidney on average ends up being a net heath positive because of all the test they run you though. They catch stuff during the process that they probably wouldn’t have caught until years later in many cases. With all the tests and scans they fairly regularly find early stage cancer for example.

I suppose if they don’t find anything then it ends up being a net negative for health.

I’m 53.
I was on TRT for 36 months years ago. I’m now 200mg/t-cyp.
They’ll have to force me to stop it.
My energy was the main thing and it’s definitely fine now.
I’m unsure if it’s typical but T seemed to improve my overall sense of well being. Nice.
I’ve tried and succeeded to RE-lose some weight I picked back up during a medical hiatus. This metabolism boost was welcome.
Let’s see, at 53 I’ve survived a war, disability, 34 years of marriage, over twenty general surgeries……I stand 6’2 at 225lbs and even though in hurt every moment from a war injury i am happy.
How often do you hear someone say that really?

I
Am
Happy
And been on TRT two years. I’ll not stop add believe it will definitely aid life span

“TRT” should not shorten lifespan and should increase it if anything.

Just that many people who do “TRT” also do spurts of insane cycles and other meds they aren’t supposed to be on. Including going through periods of starvation, dehydration, etc

When I told a co-worker I was on steroids, TRT, he told me steroids can cause heart attacks. He didn’t seem to understand the difference between TRT and AAS. He’s into fitness and is 140 lbs and has lots of muscle. I was surprised he didn’t know the difference being into fitness and all.

Unless he’s 5’2", he does not have lots of muscle.

As a third party observer -
Ripped yes.
A ‘Lot of muscle,’ google Mr Olympia contestants that’s a ‘lot.’ Just a terminology thing out of synch was all. A lot of muscle is a man at 200+ at 10% bf
