My buddy who got me into trt has quit due to palpitations while on a dose as low as 100 a week so he decided to get off. For myself it has been a constant battle trying to get dialed in. Been on trt for three years now. Three doctors that don’t impress me had me taking 150, then 200mg a week. Never needed e2 blocker as I’ve always been below 30. Test levels was 550 before starting and~750 while on. As I’ve heard many times, I felt great for awhile then back to being tired and can’t get off the couch. All this seems like way too much trouble.
I wish someone could come up with proper therapy that doesn’t make one tired after a while.
I listened to a podcast the other day about Testosterone resistence The gist was that some men can’t feel the effects of trt until they get up into the higher levels… like 1500 TT, etc.
The only times I’ve felt a libido or anything much from TRT is when I was on a weird protocol of 300mg test every 2 weeks. SO, I am starting to think I need to raise my TT level up, which will have a corresponding effect on FT, E2 and DHT. But doing it with e3d shots.
I think most people and drs. are afraid with numbers of TT past the range numbers.
Interesting that you, on 200mg a week, only yielded a TT of 750. I get into the higher 800s on 50mg e3d.
Have you checked thyroid at all?
I have heard TRT will work for a while with hypothyroid, then stop working. I think rise80 makes a good point.
I would test FT4, FT3, TSH, and RT3. You really need to test the free levels, and RT3 to get the whole picture. My FT3 and FT4 looked good but RT3 was pretty high (above range). This made the FT3 basically unable to do it’s job.
