Hello I have been suffering from low test for about 5 to 10 years based on my symptoms. Three years ago ny test was about 300. I tested at 217 last year and the doctor finally said he would try TD 5mg ed. it worked good for about 1 1/2 months then I could tell it was declining. he switched me to 10 mg Methyl test ed. I stayed about the same. Last month My test was 117. He gave me 200mg IM and told me that would last a month. I am tired of feeling like crap. I have been reading alot form the internet in the last month. Boy am I naive.
I am looking for a good trt doctor in the indianapolis area.
And understand that that book is negative on injections, precisely because injecting every two, three, four weeks does not work well at best. The idea of self injecting often seems to be too much of a reach for most doctors to grasp. The book also predates use of Anastrozole/Arimidex for E2 control. A target of serum E2=22pg/ml is also a recent understanding.
Your doc seems to be another idiot.
Understand T+hCG+AI so you can ask and argue for that.
Labs:
TT
FT
serum E2
CBC
cholesterol
PSA
In Google Earth, enter “compounding pharmacy” in the [fly to] box when zoomed into Indy area. There are number of compounding pharmacies in the north end. Go to there web pages. Avoid “Bodylogic”. See which offer male HRT, education, health consults etc. Start phoning and asking for to talk to a compounding pharmacist. Explain that TDs do not work for you and that you are seeking a doctor who is open to T+AI+hCG.
You will want to ask [doc] for 5-10% t cream so you can apply to your [clipped/shaved] scrotum to pick up your DHT levels and improve sexual function. You can apply small amounts to your penis to improve the function of the nerves. You do not want to get much of that into your sexual partner.
I am not sure I understand the compounding pharmacies. You can’t mix the medicines so what is the difference between the compounding and retail pharmacies. Does it cost more for the medicines? I did look up the pharmacies. One looks promising, actually catering to male trt medicines.
I did have most the labs done except for E2 and CBC.
TT 117
FT 69
Cholesterol was ok
PSA ok
DRE ok
I did start to ask about other numbers estrogen and prolactin his response was the test replacement should be overpowering that stuff. I will start calling to find another doctor. It has been 10 days since my first/last injection and I am sliding downhill.

Thanks for the information[/quote]
Regular pharmacies sell drugs from pharmaceutical companies. Compounding pharmacies make up things to order. If you want a T cream you need to get it from a compounding pharmacy. Compounded T cream costs way less than Testim or A-gel.

Your doc does not understand what E does, it can fit into T receptors, not activate and sit there.
Get referrals from compounding pharmacies. They know the docs who understand these things. Find compounding pharmacies in your area with Google Earth.
I went back to my doctor (wasn’t in) and saw the LNP. She was generally open and upped my dose to what I was asking for. 100mg per week. This was my immediate goal so it would get me thru another month. After talking with her about my last blood work she recommended that I see an endo.
My fasting sugar was 119 borderline diabetic. My thyroid was about 2 which is low. I was wrong about my FT before it is actually 32 and bioavailable was 64. MY Shbg was 9.
She said that there is too much going on and I should see an endo.
I am worried about the blood sugar number more now. Would that number go down if the test numbers were increased. I have lost about 35 lbs this summer and I am in generally good health. I work hard construction so I get plenty of exercise.
I will call the compounding pharmacies on Monday to get an idea if they recommend another doctor and wait to see if my LNP comes up with a good endo and go from there.
I did try to call a pharmacy, they said send them an email.Well I have sent out email requests to all the compounding pharmacies in the area after 1 day 1 response: They don’t give recommendations. I have asked 1 doctor in another state for a recommendation: drive to his state for his protocol. My LPN did get me a referral to another endo, which I can’t find any useful information about him except he was promoted to head of New York diabetes center and then 4 years later he is a practicing MD in Indianapolis. Doesn’t sound very promising. I did ask my LPN for a referral to a certain ,that a friend recommended, endo, I don’t know why they gave me a different one. I don’t know about his treatment either and I can’t get an appointment until December and have to have a referral.
Where can you get information about these doctors? Am I supposed to start with one get tests done find out what he wants to do then start all over again?
That is the problem with endos. Hard to get to see and mostly useless.
Glucose=119 is a real problem. You might want to manage this with metaformin for the short term at least. Later the effects of T and weight loss might change things around. You really need to manage E2 levels to enable weight loss.
