TRT Blood Pressure Readings

Hey All

Some in this group have been replying to my other threads during the early stages of my TRT journey, thank you.

Regarding blood pressure. My dr told me to start taking a weekly BP reading at home, which I’ve been doing. But last week during a routine body MOT the nurse took my blood pressure and it was 153/80 and she seemed concerned. Which after I explained my situ, she also backed the dr and said monitor it and if it continues to be high, go and see my GP (I almost laughed at the seeing the GP part, since I’ve not been able to get an appointment in over a year)

I reported the high BP reading to my Dr at Optimale, and said to take multiple reading morning and evening over a 7 day period and if the average is still high to go and speak to my GP (haha again, getting appointment is near impossible)

I’ve being doing so and the first 2 days my BP at point of reading and average is in range. But today my at point of reading and average is 156/74. And I’m wondering if I should be concerned?

I am dealing with quite a bit of stress at the moment + I only manage 4 hours sleep last night. So could this be a contributing factor to this days readings and perhaps take another reading later today? or just keep doing the daily readings until day 7 then take an average then and that’s the most important? (I would assume BP readings would fluctuate day over day anyway, since lots of things can be a factor for it being high

I train 5-6 times a week hard, and my diet is really good and I rarely drink alcohol and only have caffeine once a day. So I should be good there

However, I have gained 3.7 kgs in the last 5 weeks since starting TRT and have elevated 17-Beta Oestradiol of 166.0 pmol/L. So have now been put on 1/4 once a week of anastrozole. On top of my twice a week jabs of cypionate and HCG

Suppose I’m asking if I should be overly concerned by my BP at this stage, as I’m sure the stress, lack of sleep and sudden and large weight gain a chunk likely to be water won’t be helping. And if I get stress, sleep and estrogen under control, BP should also, no?

A little frustrated that by going through a private clinic, that I’m now being asked to go back to my GP, when they will clearly know the issues pertaining to the NHS and getting appointments, but I guess it is what it is

Appreciate all feedback, as I think the notion of high BP also contributing to my stress and anxiety and that won’t help the readings either lol

I have been told that one errant reading doesn’t mean much, if anything. I check my BP 3x per day when I’m tracking it: waking up, check it 3x take the average. After work before the gym, 3x take average, then right before bed, 3x take average. I average those 9 readings. That’s my BP for the day. I’ll do this for 1-2 weeks and keep a log.
