So I’m a 32 year old male , and I’m having issues with my hematocrit raising within 6 weeks of starting my TRT. I microdose daily subq 12.mg test e . Most part I feel great but with the higher hematocrit I start to develop daily headaches I have donated aswell. I’ve also been tested for sleep apnea and the JAK2 gene which were both negative . I’ve tried telmisartan , losartan , grapfruit loads of cardio and loads of water but it just seems to steadily increase . Obviously I know donating helps but I don’t want to tank ferritin does anyone else have any other options because I also feel like dogshit when I stop TRT as my levels hover around 8-12
How high is your hematocrit?
And why do you think headaches is because of that if u said you were good with it before?
Hematocrit goes up to 60% and I’ve tried TRT a few times same thing happens every time headaches gradually start then when I stop after about 2 weeks the headaches go away
Try aspirin 100-300mg a day.
Also, get hematocrit readings after a few meals and liters of water. Never do readings in the morning.
What does your doctor say?
60 is abnormally high.
My doctor had me get a phlebotomy twice in the 21 years I’ve been on TRT when my hct went over 50, with the most recent value warranting one being 53.
Donate regularly and take a ferritin iron supplement, or beef liver pills.
What is your baseline pre-TRT hematocrit?
A man with short CAG repeats will over-respond to androgens. Maybe try a shorter acting ester, topical or oral formulation of TRT that peaks and declines quickly.
Pre TRT my hematocrit hovers around 48% which is perfect but obviously I have to deal with the fatigue and other issues with low T lol
All of your bodies are different guess I’m just very unlucky that I’m a hyper responder as I only need between 70-80mg of test a week to put my levels in the 1000s range
My doctor referred me to endocrinologist and they stopped my TRT and checked for sleep apnea and the JAK2 gene . They see that my hematocrit came back into normal range quickly and just left me off TRT sand said you’ll be fine now my test levels then dropped to 8nmol felt like death
I had moderate success with T propionate. my hemoglobin would go close to 20, but on prop it cuts at something like 18-18.5. not ideal but better then on Tcyp
Okay mate I’ll take that into account just getting my bloods done this week then see where I go from there I’ll see. What was your protocol if you don’t mind me asking was it daily inj or EOD
my protocol is .3cc (30mg) Tprop daily. worth a try IMO, a lot of ppl including myself feel much better on prop as well
Doctors these days have no problem lying right to your face.

So I’ve managed to get my levels down to this while on TRT drinking pure grapfruit juice and I will start the test prop aswell
Ps. I was eating full grapefruits before trying the juice and the juice seems to work better
How much a day? 1 glass?
I second Njord with getting rid of some blood. I started “dumping a pint” every 8 weeks because it also helps with high SHBG which is why I’m doing TRT in the first place. Download the american red cross app and just pick something close by at your convenience. Men (since they dont bleed regularly) can also get “Iron overload” which can raise SHBG and give you feelings of fatigue. It’s healthy to donate regularly and force your body to replenish blood.
This doesn’t make sense right? If a person has high hematocrit, SQ is advised over IM, or am I missing something?
How are you doing now? Since I am also struggling with getting my hematocrit down…what definitely worked for you, looking back?
