TRT and Chest Pains, Difficulty Breathing

Good day all,

I started with TRT with my doctor about 2 years ago due to losing natural testosterone production to testicular cancer. Has been a long road trying to get my levels steady.

However the last 4 months or so ive started to experience chest pains and trouble breathing with any form of exertion. Ive undergone scans for blood clots or heart issues all of which came back good from what ive been told.

In short what my question is, is has anyone had similar issues several years after starting TRT and if so what did you do that helped relieve the pain and fatigue
Thanks

Do you have your HCT (Hematocrit) values? You might just need to go donate blood (therapeutic bloodletting).

We need a bit more information, like your TRT protocol and most recent testosterone panel.

  • Hemoglobin

@Andrewgen_Receptors what are the symptoms of high HCT? Mine are on the high end.

The first time I started TRT I started having problems after about a week and then years down the road iron and ferritin were very low.

I stopped TRT and got my ferritin and iron healthy, went back on TRT and 2 months later had a repeat of low ferritin and iron.

My doctor told me someone on TRT uses up more iron than someone not on replacement therapy.

This was the cause of my chest pain, palpitations and fatigue.

I have to supplement a lot of iron on TRT, 140 mg iron chelated daily.

There isn’t much that most people can perceive. High blood pressure is what I’d use along with HCT labs. If both are high, I’d assume that HCT is the cause or a contributor to the high BP.

Have you had these issues the whole time on TRT? Have you had Covid? That is causing some of these issues with quite a few people recently.

Do you do cardio?

I can get the results of my latest blood work and see what the levels are, might take a couple days

I do not but i can check the results of my most recent blood test.

Havent had covid, been sick a dozen times the past year but always tested negative. I do what i can for my cardio, with the pain and teouble breathing its hard to do much more than a brisk walk. Only started about 4 months ago

Hmm, I wouldn’t necessarily say it is from TRT. It might be.

It sounds like you’ve been to the doctor’s to get this checked out?

Have you added any new meds or changes to diet / lifestyle recently. The fact that you went two years without these issues makes me think that TRT isn’t the cause. Have you gained weight? How much do you weigh? BF%? How old are you?

I am not dismissing TRT. I just think a lot of people get stuck on a certain thing being the cause, but haven’t ruled out other possibilities.

I have and they are doing the deduction process from what could kill me tomorrow to somthing that needs medication. I eat pretty good, have to as i have diabetes. Im heavier set but have lost quiet a bit of weight in the last few years, close to 60lbs i currently weigh between 258-265 depending on the day and when i weigh or what i eat. Im currently 32 years old

Type 1 or 2?

How well controled is your diabetes?

I know a lot of people my gf included who have have or currently are having cardio related problems, probably because of the Vid or the vaccine.

Type 2, it took a couple years. Got diagnosed shortly after the cancer. Its pretty controlled, sitting on average around 6.8-7.4 for my blood sugars. Down from a whopping 16. Im hoping its not the covid vaccine thiugh ive had 4 shots

This isn’t good enough or should this be a targeted A1C, you are still insulin resistance.

Most healthcare providers have lost all sense of what’s healthy, and only care about disease management and big pharma profits from it.

I have type 2 and my endo was perfectly happy with my A1C at 7.0, which made me cringe because this is still a state of insulin resistance.

Blood vessel damage can start at A1C levels above 7%.

There’s no logical reason why at 33 years old you can’t set your goal for a normal AC1 and fasting glucose levels.

Don’t settle for a disesse state and be happy with this A1C results, set your bar higher!

You can reverse type 2 diabetes on TRT. I’m almost there, as my A1C used to be 12 a year ago and is now 5.8.

The thing that affects my glucose levels to most is my vitamin D levels, because vitamin D makes you sensitive to insulin.

I get bounced from doctor to doctor due to the shortages, was told where im at is good, but i dont feel good. I was on a medication that helped me lower it and my weight before but its hard to get approved for, as i missed the total weight loss requirement by 2.3 lbs. My doctor tried to get it for me again as it was targeting the sugar levels directly but couldnt get it approved. On yhe other end they are looking at possible bariactric surgery to accelerate my weightloss and lower my fasting sugars more effectively. I could raise it to the doctor that i dont feel its going fast enough but im am unsure as to how large an impact that will have

Good for who, the healthcare providers that get to bill your insurance company for treatment and services or Big Pharma.

Your healthcare provider and the pharmaceutical companies are making money off you because you’re diseased.

If you had no health problems, there’s no money in it for them! If you reverse your type 2 diabetes and no longer need medications, pharmaceutical companies lose money and your provider lose out.

I would love to be off medication, they have me on 4 different ones to make up for the one that was working and would have gotten me better faster

I’m on Jardiance (alongside TRT) and it works be excreting excess blood glucose via urination and works as a mild diuretic.

Have you ever tried Jardiance?

I dont think so, they have me on metformin and januvia right now. The combination that was working was saxenda( an injection into the subcutaneous layer in your stomach) along with metformin
