TRT 1 Year Update

What’s your diet like @charlie12 - could you have a food intolerance or allergy to something?

DHEA S was quite low. Was blood drawn very early in the morning (before 8 am or within 1 to 2 h of awakening)? Because if yes Cortisol is also low and this could signal adrenal insufficiency. Do you have pre TRT levels?

Regarding adrenals, there is some data suggesting that Vit D plays a role in the functioning of the adrenal glands, but its unclear what comes first; low Vit D causing adrenal issues or whether low Vit D is simply a result or a symptom of low performing adrenals. Any how as suggested above I would try to increase the Vit D levels and retest DHEA S in a month. Would not supplement with DHEA S now.

T looks fine shouldnt be a concern, Metformin shouldnt be a problem either.
Whats your dose and how ofter do you inject per week?

EF of the left ventricle improved, right? Did the right one also improve upon treatment? Any water retention in other parts such as legs?

I think your best option is a low dose diuretic at the moment.

@johann77 Yes. Lab was taken at 830. Had another lab month before that one cortisol was 7.1 at about 9am and dhea s about 200. Ankles fine. Face maybe a bit not sure.
Am 43. 6’1"

I inject about 110mg a week divided in 2. I take daily Cialis. Allopurinol for uric acid stones - not gout. 1000mg xr metformin
I take 4mg cadesartan and 50 mg metroporol. Multivitamin. Extra d3 2x a week. Also resvetrol 2x a week.

Also I know an getting rid of water when I get that sense of urgency to pee.

A have pretty good energy all day btw.

All right!!! Cardiac parameters are improving!!! Yayyyyyyyyy (insert clapping emoji)

That’s what I like to see, LVEF also looks to have improved quite a bit

I’d assume the majority of us who blast would have cardiac diameters similar to the dimensions specified on you’re report, with some meeting the diagnostic criteria for dialated cardiomyopathy (perhaps myself too?)

I’ll talk about the water retention later tonight, I have the same issue. Primarily diet mediated for me and due to the fact that I just generally retain a lot of water on test

I too was contemplating asking my doc for low dose dieuretic as my face looks like a potato, but at the tender age of eighteen I don’t want to be on these… the stigma is real for younger individuals regarding meds like trt, pde5 inhibitors etc… and fair enough, youth is associated with virility… not inadequate testicular functioning and associated symptoms

If you decide to go down this route you’ll require periodic monitoring from a medical professional to ensure electrolyte balance doesn’t go too far out of whack/ kidney functioning remains relatively preserved

@johann77 @unreal24278

Would you guys know the best way to increase Vit D levels quickly and efficiently? Like taking 50,000 IU/day (random exaggerated number) for 2-4 weeks then drop to 5,000 IU/day. Any difference in brands, etc?

@dextermorgan I take these daily from Amazon

Vitamin D3

What’s the deal with those? What’s different from regular D3?

Probably nothing at all. The liquid gels may absorb a little better.

Also, they are smaller than regular D3 and easier to take.

In principle one has to differentiate between Vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol) and D3 (Cholecalciferol). D2 is a precursor and inactive, D3 is the active hormone.
D2 is typically given in much higher doses,. Eg in deficiency 50.000 IU D2 over weeks - you do NOT want to take 50.000 of D3 for weeks).

I you want to increase the levels quickly I would recommend either

  • 5000 to 10000 IU D3 daily for 10 days OR
  • a single loading dose of 50.000 IU D3

followed by a maintainance dose of 1000 to max 2000 IU daily of D3.

@johann77
I’ve always been under the impression that you should take 5,000iu/daily of D3 forever so that’s interesting to know.

There is a controversy going on regarding the safe upper level of intake. Most agencies now state 4000 as the tolerable upper intake level, but some data suggest 10.000 IU is safe as well. Seems highly variable between subjects.
RDA is 800 but a study showed that the daily need is more like 1000 to 1600.
So if you supplement 1000 to 2000 a day on top of what sun expose and food provides you should be covered.

Heart looks fine - congrats!

Do you experience any changes in water retention between the days relative to T injection?

So this afternoon is my day of injection.

Last night I weighed 188.0 pounds. This morning 186.1
Usually it’s 1 pound or less different. I noticed I sweat from my ass wierd?? When I lose some of the weight.
So yes there are about 2 days of the week that I lose that weight during night and/or during day when I pee allot. I did stop the dhea last night. It seems recently the days that I sweat this or pee a lot were much fewer. Therefore retaining more water??

It appears that this happens near injection time.

I was injection closer to 120 but changed to 110 gradually over a couple of weeks. So minor may not matter. I did this to see if it helped my belly but so far it did not.

I was taking 90mg at one point many months ago and I don’t think I had this issue. But this has been a constant complaint really. Even when I think I was good I always had that peeing and sweating thing happen that made belly go down.

Thank you for taking the time and reading this.

I take 10,000iu a day year round to keep it around 65. But I have a genetic issue with not converting sunlight.

So lets see… Charlie was feeling great in the beginning of this thread, now he’s all over the place. This isnt TRT. It’s compensating. You give only to take. I dont know what else to say, except a lot of folks complicate this for a lot of folks.

I don’t understand what you are saying. I feel very good. Basically my only complaint is my belly.

I’ve been on trt for 2 years.

Went back to read my thread…

Could be the dhea…I re-added that recently again
