I have been on 180mg test cyp, .25mg arimidex 1time a week (keeps my e2 at 23), along with 250iu 2x a week of HCG. I inject the T twice a week and walk around at about 915 total T with 23 free t level (9-26 range)
I am young (26) and concerned about future fertility so I want to take a 1-2 month break from the test and only do HCG. I am hitting 500iu 3x a week.
Do you think this is worth it to do 1 time a year just so my body can produce a little and isn’t completely shut down for years on end. I understand I won’t permanently restore T levels and I’m not doing an exit strategy, I just care about fertility. I am on day 8 with no T and still feel normal. I am assuming I will probably crash pretty bad in the next week or so.
I am looking forward to some expertise and insight.
I was on TRT previously with no HCG only clomid added every now and then to stimulate the boys…
I will say that my ejaculation quantity went up by LARGE amounts…
That is while only taking for 25mg EOD for a couple weeks at a time…
I don’t see the point. Take enough to keep the boy full and dangling year round. You could also get a sperm analysis just make sure you’re good.
I’m all for trying HCG only to see if you even need T. Worked pretty well for me. Tried the SERM route and that didn’t work out as well. Going back to HCG.
Yep, the hcg should keep your natural production up, no need for a break. If you are worried about it, go have an analysis done. I just had one done and I’ve been on the standard protocol (T, hcg, AI) for 3-4 years now (with several months in the beginning with no hcg) and my count was “above average”.

How much hcg is enough ? (keeping the testies in the game) I read that some find 250iu every other week substituted for a low dose T shot works for them without the associated elevated levels of E2. Just wondering what dosage you’re using and whether or not you had to up your AI to compensate ? Thanks
hCG will induce T production and spermatogenesis however without FSH there is a lower incidence of pregnancy. FSH has been implicated in the maturation process of sperm.
