Story = Blah

Visuals = Holy fucking shit

Overall conclusions…buy it on Blu Ray and watch it on mute and dazzle all your friends.

The light cycle scene in this beats anything in the last movie.

Also, I am one of those who HATED the basic story line of Avatar. It was elementary school level in my opinion even though it looked great.

Same here.

I would not watch Avatar again though because it bored me. I would watch Tron again.

I should have shelled a couple bucks for that 3D IMAX ticket. Christ it was glorious.

Couple of things:

  • People have to remember that the original Tron (and the Star Wars franchise) were to the early 80’s what Pixar, Avatar and similar effect-driven movies of today are. So, although on ‘re-watch’ it’s going to look a bit cheesy, but pretty much cutting edge video/sound for the time.

  • Real cool technology was used to keep Jeff Bridges “young”:

This could likely be a trend with future sequels or dead actors…

  • Tron the 80’s video arcade game was just fucking incredible to play. I spent endless hours on that machine. It’s still a great game if you can find one.

  • Oh, yeah, hot cumpyooter wimminz.

I have to say the best things about Tron are in this order.

  1. Beau Garret and Olivia Wilde
  2. Graphics/Visual artistry
  3. Daft Punk Soundtrack

Now go see the movie!
