How in the world does the prosecution’s failure to prove its case amount to this?
I have to completely dingy this thread because of how ludicrous a post that was lol. Feel like my head will implode.
If it is that funny, surely you can break it down and inform him exactly why.

Interesting there was a 46 page thread full of bitching and moaning, a part 2 yet they still chose to ignore this question.

So because it’s you and I know how our debates go. I am not speaking for everyone, not speaking for all black people, not for all white people or what I think all white think or any other race. Strictly for myself.

I am upset that a mother and father had to lose their child in order for my black friends that do all the can to avoid being “black” to be reminded their and their kids lives have a much lower value then their counterparts.
That is such a bullshit argument. Zim got aquitted because the prosecution could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he did not act in self defense or the idea of it.

Not because dead black kids are ‘less valuable’ than dead white kids.

I am still waiting for some more real responses.

It sure seems like a lot of emotion from people when none of you were related to those involved.
My response: I’m not upset at all. I am interested in the implications of this case.

I find it a gross disrespect to the office of the POTUS that Obama would interject his opinion on this matter well before anything was in court, and particularly his race baiting. Why isn’t he saying this kid would look like his son: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/07/14/this-is-what-a-real-hero-looks-like/ ? Why doesn’t he talk about the innocent people he condones murdering daily with drone strikes?

I find the media’s obsession with this case as curious as a pair of tits on a seesaw. I don’t understand the motive they have or why they insist on making someone guilty in the court of public opinion.

But most of all, it is a very complicated case that is hard to remove emotion and bias from while talking about, so it makes for a fun discussion about an uneasy topic.

Right…the majority of an entire Continent?

Usually you would decry a Country…like…you however are lumping Mexico, The United States of America and Canada into one giant derogatory statement.
I know what North America is. I stand by what I said. Based off my life experience, this is my view point. If you have an issue with how I feel, prove me wrong.

I disagree with you. American’s as a group are not stupid, they are ignorant. There is a vast difference between an uneducated individual and low information individual.

The overwhelming majority of this country has some form of public/private or professional education. The problem is that is it. They spend their free time watching tv(4 hours a day on average, which is 1/4 the waking hours of the day, 1/2 of they awake non working time) and dicking around instead activities involved with gaining knowledge like reading or real life experiences.

What you have is a nation of educated people who still know nothing yet feel qualified to give an opinion.

Sorry for the moderately off topic tangent but it explains alot of the people here.

Because we live under a rule of law, not rule of emotion. The prosecution failed to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Zimmerman was guilty and he was acquitted. That is what happened. Skin color or life value had zero to do with it. It could have been Jesus instead of Martin, and the prosecution still wouldn’t have proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Zimmerman was guilty.

What didn’t happen was anyone in the court room making any sort of judgment as to the “value of anyone’s life”.

If someone actually believes deep down, that the prosecution failing to prove its case = black people are worth less in the eyes of society as a whole, well then I don’t know what to tell them, but they have already lost before they have begun. That person can’t think, they confuse feeling with thinking.

I apologize. I should have been more clear. I don’t equate having a degree or “an education” with being educated.

For me, educated means an individual who seeks to not be ignorant. Educated is someone (probably) like yourself, that will take the time to research what is necessary to understand the workings of the legal system , remove all prejudice and any biased opinions, and objectively look at what happened and use that to infer an opinion. THAT is educated.

However, if I am using the term, “uneducated”, incorrectly, then I apologize and I take back what I said; I am stating that most of North America is ignorant.

The prosecution would not have failed had the kid been white. Not because the evidence would’ve been different but because how they view it would’ve been different. You and other cohorts can act like you have no bias but you do, it’s evident years before this trial. I’ve seen enough posts to know. Your mindset is also the majority in America so those with your bias’s are more likely to be on a jury. A black kid that smokes marijuana will always be a thug, a white kid who smokes can be president one day. A thug was attacking Zimmerman, a white kid would’ve been defending himself. I’m pretty sure you’ll say all this is not true, but there’s decades of cases supporting this. Which all amounts to one thing, if someone goes out and kills a black person(regardless of race) there’s significantly less penalty then killing others except dark skin hispanic.

Do you find this to be the case in Canada as well? Canada, of course, being the largest country in North America (by land area, anyway).

Would you care to explain how you take emotion out of reasonable?
Then care to explain how you take emotion out of doubt?

There would be no need for jurys if cases were devoid of bias.

this^…y is it everyone is crying about race in this…the whole point of the case isn’t whether zimmerman shot martin or not, he has already admitted that he shot him. the case is about whether or not the shooting was justified…and the evidence says it was…

Air: I am solely asking for an opinion but do you think this “never going win mentality” holds down a particular said group of people?
For instance: Mexicans will never be allowed rights of America or given citizenship. Any middle easterner will be profiled.
Im not talking specifically of stereotypes but certain people belonging to certain races carry a belief that they will “never be allowed.”

It hasn’t been addressed but there are famous cases of African Americans getting off for crimes, OJ being an example.

It seems every time a case like this or other is brought to Americas attention all of a sudden there is no fair trial.
