Transformers Review

A little off topic but I thought Spider-Man 3 was fucking awesome, sans the Lifetime-melodramtic-put-the-woman-first bullshit.

But back on topic I wish Grim Lock was in the movie…

Terrific movie.

I actually got pumped up when they had the “car advertisements” going on. I mean, what Testosterone member doens’t get pumped up when a new prototype Camaro (Bumblebee), an H2, and a big ass tractor trailer (Prime) are hauling ass down a highway with Bonecrusher chasing them down on roller freaking blades?

At one point during the Bumblebee/Barricade chase me and the wife looked at each other and were like, holy shit, this is a good flick.

Some of you are ridiculously hard on movies…it’s a mindless action, popcorn eating summer movie. Nothing more, nothing less.

I could have used a better final fight between Optimus and Megatron, including seeing Megatrons gun a little more.

The humor was terric, it lightened the mood just right.

Can’t wait for the sequel.

Cant wait for the Sequel,Awesome movie. I thought Starscream was teh coolest out of all of them but hopefully next tiem around they can make Megatron into a gun,Soundwave makes an apperance,Prime is alot stronger, and more focus on the robots. BTe,as far as the jhumor goes…this one was laided down nicely unlike Spiderman 3 where it was so cheesy it was unbearable.

Wow. you really though that was fucking awesome! I thought it was one of the worst movies I’ve seen. Even the group of 7 year old kids behind me kept saying it was stupid. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow…you have much in common with 7 year old kids. Congrats.

Btw,I want to add this. Have you guys seen the Original Tranformers movie? If you havent do yourself a favor and watch. That was fucking incredible. Id like to note that the cartoon movie was more serious than the 2007 movie. Yes,the CARTOON MOVIE. I seriously hope Megatron turns into the badass Galvatron and Unicron makes an apperance.

Other than the totally cool acting, super-sweet explosions and shoot-em-up scenes this movie was totally bunk. It was nothing but advertising and propaganda all the way down to the core. These are the ads that you get to sit thru for $8:

  1. US Air Force
  2. Microsoft
  3. Tacobell
  4. Nokia
  5. Chevrolet
  6. Porsche
  7. GMC
  8. Hummer
  9. Ford

There are many others that I cannot remember from the top of my head.

The perfect summer advertising festival for all the mindless 14 year olds and grown-up childmen (sic). They are going to make a killing on this one.

~you do realize that you are watching a movie about GIANT ALIEN TALKING ROBOTS THAT TURN INTO CARS correct? What exactly were you expecting? Quit blowing yourself and realize there is nothing wrong with paying $8 to have a summer escape.

So does Charles Barkley, who said it sucked on TV, and just about everyone I know whose seen it. The Movie had a terrible plot and the backwards moral overtones with Sandman turning out to be a just another nice guy ruined it even more. It seems they just relied on special effects to make up for an empty script. Even Kirsten Dunst came out and said that was the worst movie she’s even done!

Spiderman 1 was fantastic, Spiderman 2 was Ok, Spiderman 3 I’m with the 7 yearolds who said it was stupid. My point being even if was geared towards kids it still sucked. If you like it great I’m glad you got your moneys worth. I wish I saved mine for a steak.

Did anyone else think that “And I’ll count to three.” was the absolute best line in the movie?

It was a teaser for JJ Abrams’ new Godzilla movie.

Can that be confirmed? I whispered to my date that I thought it was for Godzilla [the whole going to Tokyo thing clued me in] but I haven’t heard/seen ANYTHING for it. If it really is for Godzilla, it’s about time. I’ve completely erased the late 90’s incaration from my brain.

I should have said that the teaser MIGHT be for Godzilla. JJ Abrams is working on some kind of “monster” flick but it’s been kept a secret under the working title “Cloverfield”.

I hope they don’t turn Megatron into a gun. When he would suddenly shrink down to be small enough to fit into Starscream’s hand, that was too much, even for the cartoon.

In the movie it looked like he had some kind of wicked harpoon for a weapon. He used it in the Cybertron Scene, and it looked like he was about to use it on Prime.

Damn, now I can’t wait for the friggin sequels.

Movie about giant robots that kick ass, if you want to hate on that, you are a nerd.
Movie kicked ass, effects kicked ass, just enough “cheese” in it to kick ass. Anyone that hates is a fucking nerd that will die alone in a cold damp hole.

My opinion is ultimate. Count to three line was kick ass. If Barkley says something it must be correct because we base our views on people that we admire I guess? Spiderman sucks. Toby is a dork. Kirsten is too ugly for me to check if I spelled her name right. Eternal sunshine was great despite her being ugly and sucking at everything. Bay also for the most part sucks…Oh ya and is rich, famous, and successful…

Hey guys, whoa, big gulps huh? Alright. Well see ya later.

I heard that it might be an updated Lovecraft story. Cloverfield is a reference to this and I think that one of the ‘old ones’ nailed the statue. But its all speculation.

I just got back from seeing it again [something I don’t think I’ve done since I’ve been old enough to make my own decisions]. The fight scenes were definitely too short. All of Bay’s movies do tend to drag in spots, but I didn’t feel that way about this, although his reliance on the sun blinding the audience at various points is a little distracting.

This is the second time I’ve seen it this week, and it was still as cool as it was the first time. I can’t wait for the sequals. Does anyone know if they’ve started on production or anything? The unnamed trailer has to be for Godzilla. Whatever it is it looks pretty cool.

Minor Spoiler, but not really

…Devastator being a vehicle and no Soundwave…

PGA:

In the movie, they list the tank as Devastator, but my son bought the toy and the packaging lists it as Brawl. Back in the 80s, Brawl was in fact a tank and Devastator was the giant formed by all of the constructicons. Not sure why they changed the name in the movie.

I saw it again on Saturday night and the movie was definitely still awesome!

I’ve seen it three times. . .

You know, I kind of like the fast, chaotic, choppy camera movement of the action in Transformers. It seems a little more realistic to me.

I think it is refreshing, especially when the trend has been highly-stylized fight sequences in movies a la The Matrix.
