“Don’t fuck up.”
Classic.

36 bodyweight chin ups in one workout!? It wasn’t that long ago you couldn’t do any! I’m sure my back could benefit from upping my chin ability, how’d you do it?

Haha to be honest, I don’t really know. Ed had me start out with band-assisted chin ups for 5 sets of 5. Then I got strong enough to need to use any bands. I started doing them more and more often over the course of a couple weeks. I ditched the bands just to see how many I could do. I did 5 by myself and just took it from there. I’ve progressed to being able to knock out 10 by myself, now. I’m looking to double that number in another 3 months.

Ha, keep the Coan lines coming, definitely cool to read.
I’ve got big news. Might have to have surgery that would end my military career. Cool.
Anywho, good job on the pull ups man. Hard work pays off.

CS,
Great log man. Keep up the hard work. Looks like you are well on your way to fixing that weak back you started with. That is not a slam, I’m being sincere, great work!

Thanks, man. Appreciate the kind words.

Does Ed have you doing deadlifts with deadstops or touch and go when repping?
Well at basic I hurt my hip and femur. Now it is looking like I have a labral tear. The only way top fix that is surgery and since I haven’t completed training it will probably be over.

That sucks. Can’t you try and come back when your labral is fixed? How does that all work?

Got a letter in the mail yesterday saying that I have an Army ROTC scholarship interview waiting for me. Fuck yes.

Way to go man thats awesome! And I doubt it. This is something that will be life long. Hips don’t recover very well and it runs in my family. My dad has no cartilage left in his right hip. So I might be done with the Army.
In better news I benched 187 today which is a 10 lb PR for me.

Damn. That blows. I’ll carry on your legacy.
Congrats on the PR, too!

I just typed a big long message and I don’t think it went through, damnit. But in short, don’t be a hero just master the basics. Don’t take shortcuts, do your duty, be a team player, and help your buddies. They will be your family.
You have potential to be soldier of the cycle physically, now go prove you have the character and drive.
