Training intensity and acne flair up

I know I’ve asked a lot about acne on here, but I just went to the beach and didn’t workout for 4 days. My acne cleared up more than it has, but now that I’m back to working out over the last 3 days, it’s back to where it was.

Is it true training intensity can cause acne to flair up? I train really intense, that’s the only way I’ve ever trained and I love it. I seen a post about training intensity and acne but can’t find it. Just wanted to hear some insight

Only in the sense that cortisol isn’t great for skin clarity.

More likely cause? You’re not sweating as much, so you’ve less oil and toxins on your skin. Possibly, you’re eating better and/or not taking supplements like pre workout (that tend to be detrimental to skin clarity).
Showering after training would probably help.

Sun exposure. Day(s) at the beach or tanning beds can do wonders for reducing acne!

Acne can be an inflammatory response. Training is intentionally induced inflammation.

This. I just finished an article about acne, chronic inflammation, and omega-3s. Snippet:

“Researchers found that 98% of the 60 acne sufferers in one study were deficient in omega-3 fatty acids. When subjects took fish oil, they noticed significant reductions in inflammatory and non-inflammatory skin lesions.”

“…fish oil also regulates sebum production. Sebum is the oily stuff that clogs pores.”

In a really tight nutshell, fish oil treats acne.

Dude it’s crazy you say that because I use to take fish oil everyday and the last months I haven’t been.

I doubt this relates to your training. Sun exposure (like you got at the beach) can be helpful for acne. Or, it could be something associated with training that you didn’t do at the beach, like ingesting high glycemic carbs around your workout, or whey protein which can cause acne, etc
