Training in a Busy Gym

As a woman, working in with men - especially young men - just feels a bit wrong to me.

You have three options.

  1. Wait.
  2. Go on off times.
  3. Buy access to a bigger gym.

I’d suggest 2 AND 3. What I wouldn’t do is change my workout composition more than once or twice just because I can’t get the stuff I want due to traffic when other options exist.[/quote]

There’s a fourth option: buy your own gym. It just isn’t that expensive if you do it gradually.

I shudder at how much it would cost for me to setup a gym in my basement. But yeah, that’s an option. I don’t know many people (personally) that can really be consistent working from home. Although one of the two I do know that is consistent with it, is a freaking animal.

My consistency has never been better than since I bought my own equipment. And it didn’t cost that much, honestly. All you need to start is a bar and some weights. I started with roughly £100 of equipment and built it up very slowly. I spent considerably less than a gym membership every month for the first 6 months and I rarely spend anything anymore, I have everything I need.

it’s a problem of every big box gym. going to be crowded at rush hour. can you hit it on your lunch break? or go at a different time? usually even if you wait just an hour or two, the place can really thin out.

I looked around in my local area, yeah… the second market here sucks. I’d probably save about 10% off of retail if I bought used around here.

Besides, only one yoga pant clad creature at home, many at the gym.
