Yeah why not? Only downside is I am going to rest the rest of the week. Which I really don’t feel like doing. I was overcoming a back injury in 09. Hope to look back at these videos the same way come next year.

@Nikki i’m sure there is stuff going on Orlando is a lot bigger area then I live in. Most of the strongman comps I see are in clearwater though.

I just might, been wanting to do a strongman comp in Florida for along time. Met some cool guys from out there at Nationals. I want to go to Disney world too haha
I am at a Highland games. That event is Weight For Height, basically a 56lb ball with a ring you throw over a bar for max height.

Well interesting day. Commercial gyms are so weird. The tires they were going to use for the tire flip relay, well the biggest one I pressed above my head haha so i stuck to the “powerlifting” meet
well the rules were start with unloaded bar. loading your own plates work up to a 1rm in 5 minutes. Kind of dumb… Little to crossfit for me but oh well still got to lift.
Started with bench… this sucked the most as I take awhile to get setup and warmed up on the bench. started with 225 easy. went straight to 275 for a pr which was a mistake. Oh well hit 245. Need to work on my bench…
Next was squat
my groin is all fucked up still, I was about to olympic squat with not to much pain but I had to squat with really dumb form for it not to hurt. hit 225 easy, 275 easy, 325 for 2 cause some guy was being a jackass saying it wasn’t depth. then got competitive and went 375, it felt light like it should but trying to go a little deeper with the dumb form I had to use i had but all of a sudden pitched forward and the spotters where horrible. and thankfully I am flexible and good at bailing cause the weights crashed to the floor. I really shouldn’t have been squatting. Or at least should have just made a smaller jump… Stupid time limits
Deadlift!
started at 405, then 455, then an easy 505 which is a 4lb sans strap pr put 525 on but had almost no time lift. Little rest so it was a no go. Happy with that though for only having 5 minutes and using a shitty smooth gym bar.
All in all it was a fun time. met some cool people lifted some weights bla bla bla. Then I set my flip cam down on a bench on the other side of the gym (away from the competition) and within about 3 minutes it was gone… So kind of put a sour note on the whole day.
You haven’t been to Disney in Cali?
That sucks about the 5 minutes thing, that’s terrible!

Went a lot as a kid, haven’t went as an adult.
I just wish i would have known ahead of time. I was happy with being to pull 505 with no rest like that.
