hey my friend at work is about to start a cycle of deca and he asked me what would be the best type of routine to gain size on this cycle. its either so simple to just say progressive overload kinda thing or i have no idea at all. any ideas?
tell him to rethink a deca only cyle before he considers anything else.

Proviron will keep his dick up too, and test does nothing to reduce shutdown. Not that i am saying dont use it of course!
He does need an androgen though OP, one way or another… Test will add to his gains greatly.
But he should train as normal assuming he is at a decent level already as he is going to use anabolics. He will know what to increase and when.
OR is he not at that level, and if not can you guess where this thread is going?!

The answer is he does what he is already doing and if/when he feels the ability to change that - to do so.
As a moderately advanced trainer, (he must be at least to be adding drugs to his arsenal to build muscle) i would assume that he does this to some degree already doesnt he?

Bushy brings up a good point from another angle that has been talked about in other threads a lot lately. If the body is not accustomed to maximal stress when the surge in strength from gear hits the tendons and ligaments are under-prepared and injury likelihood increases.
However, for those like myself who train their tendons with maximal lifts and partial range reps on a weekly basis, the surge in strength can be a most glorious of events.
