Trailer Park Trash - Aggressive Upgrade!

We just wish the fuckers would stay there. If they’re so damn proud of the fucking place why do they keep coming up here?

A yankee comes down here, tells us how the north is better than the south and leaves. A damn yankee comes down, tells us how the north is better than the south, and stays. ;-D

Never heard Wyoming referred to as “yankee” before, but whatever. We just don’t care all that much for Texans.

To feel better about their respective states, clearly.
Wasn’t it Jeff Foxworthy who said people born in Texas were getting smarter, cos they leaving before they turn 25!

I understand. A friend of mine once said he wouldn’t kill a rattlesnake that crawled from Tex. into Ok. because he knew it was looking for a better place.

A lot of Southerners call anyone north of the Mason-Dixon Line and farther west than Ark. yankees. A lot of being a yankee is attitude. Having spent time in Wyoming I really don’t consider you yankees. You didn’t have iced tea and no one knew how to make shrimp and grits, but you didn’t talk real slow and loud to me and ask me if I was married to my aunt who is also my 1/2 sister.

Didn’t realize there was a mass migration.

Yeah I guess I’ve never met a cool Texan before, in person, at least.

Couldn’t agree with ya more man! You deserve a beer for the post, if I had a dollar for everytime a yankee has complained about something just in the upstate I’d be close to bein a damn millionaire… and I’m still in college!

Damn…I didn’t realize that Southerners are a bunch of whiny bastards.

So what do you southern asshats classify a “country boy” from NY. I mean shit, I farmed when I was growing up, my first job was throwin hay, and my second was working on a honey bee farm. I grew up watching westerns and listened to Willie Nelson. Nearly every house in my town is adjoined to a farmers field, even on our “Main St”.

I work hard and because I have to live through cold ass winters, and 12 Ft of snow a year, I am damn sure I am of tougher stock than a lot of you southern clowns. I mean our old people go to your states to retire because it physically hurts to live up here. Now You all may have yer rodeo’s and yer football, but last time I checked there were a few good teams up here in the NE (p.s. I hate the fucking patriots, and Boston in general)

Now I understand that the people out west are generally from the ancestry of the adventurers of our past. The frontier men and women who cut across this land making life work for them as they went along.

Surley there is some hardy stock amongst you. BUT for the past 100 years or so, my direct family has survived upstate, rural NY and your family is amazed when you get flurries once every 15 years. My car rusts in 10 years, I have to buy a new one. You can drive your pickup for 200,000 miles because you don’t have to drive through slush, sand and salt 60% of the year.

I make the same or less money than you do and I get taxed much higher and have less freedoms. Also lets just than NY city for making my cost of living at least 50% higher than any other rural area in the country. (you all realize that the entire state of NY subsidezes everything in NY City)

Anyway, Sorry for the rant, I love visiting the south, people are 20x more friendly, life moves at a slower more friendly pace. The weather is amazing. Hell I would move to texas or SC in a heartbeat if I didn’t have all my family here.

P.S. Mayo is the king of burger toppings.

And this is why I never understand how people always stereotype Texas…our state is too damn big and diverse. And spot on about East TX being everything east of 45. If my hometown isn’t “Southern,” I don’t know what is.

I think it’s kind of brought upon itself, in all honesty. When you hear things like “God’s State,” “The Lonestar State,” and phrases like “Everything’s Bigger in Texas,” it gives folks who haven’t been there a false sense of what Texas really is.

But these things are all true.

What is funny is that it’s also true Texas is one of the most economically sound states in the country all the time and especially right now. It is also home to a number of Fortune 500 and 100 corporations and has some of the most racially and culturally diverse cities in the nation, as well as one of the largest populations.

It is true that the cowboy culture is very relevant to the state, most of us love hunting and fishing, the rodeo is a big deal and we do speak with sort of a hybrid southern drawl, even in the cities, though it varies a little from region to region.

We hunt, fish, tailgate, camp, check out the rodeo etc during our free time and go to work in high rise offices monday through friday with views that look over some of the largest cities in the nation, in my case the fourth largest and closing quickly on Chicago.

There is no shame for most of us in being southern by geography and truly unique culturally. In fact, the Lone Star reputation is a source of pride and everybody else is a bunch of yuppies.

I love being able to put on some board shorts and flip flops, drive 45 minutes to the beach and play beach volley ball, swim, fish, surf etc. Or four hours to S. Padre, where MTV hosts it’s spring break party almost every year.

I attended S. Padre spring break three of my four years in college and loved that I could drive there faster than many people could fly.

I also love driving two to three hours to some of the best hunting in the country for dove, deer, quail and turky.

I also love fishing both freshwater for bass and catfish and saltwater for trout (which are much more fun to catch than fresh trout) and reds or all sorts of species deep sea.

And, I love the night life Houston offers with the rooftop bars facing the downtown skyline, tons of restaurants that have caused houston to be nationally recognized for it’s cuisine, night clubs, comedy clubs, jazz clubs, blues clubs (second only to New Orleans if you are considering Houston) top notch strip clubs etc.

I also love that Texas is an athletic powerhouse on all levels and that we basically piss excellence in everything we do.

We are God’s state, we are the Lonestar State, we do like to hunt and fish, drive trucks and do all the redneck shit and we do it with more class than most of you yuppies have in one toe. As demonstrated by the fucking awesome yacht on wheels displayed in this thread.

Haha… man, I’m not trying to give you a hard time, but it’s posts like this that prolong the stereotypes.

Guess what? We hunt, fish, play football, go to the beach, and drive big trucks here, too. We just don’t feel the need to go around and tell everyone else about it. It’s not too exciting to boast about doing shit that everyone else does, too.

That’s why everyone pokes fun at Texas.[/quote]

We do it much better. I’ve left the state a number of times and yes, most people in most states are more or less the same, but it’s like watching your little brother try his best to be you.

It’s cute.

Stereotypes are funny but we have UT, A&M (two schools who are the best in the nation in their respective specialties, and pretty high everywhere else too), Rice, Baylor, Texas Tech…

Also TI, TXU, Dell, RadioShack, Multiple oil and chemical companies (engineers and chemists are some of the most intelligent people alive, and some of them do go to work in cowboy boots and hats because they are awesome).

We know we are fucking awesome and that being awesome draws criticism. We probably draw more criticism than any other state, which means we are way more awesome than any other state. And I’ll take two of the trailers on wheels in the OP, along with the Benz’s tucked under them and a truck, preferably F150 in tow behind…

Just going by my observations of this thread, darling… but now I think that I’m going to add sensitive to the list of generalizations about Southerners.

In trying to come up with a clever retort to this post I realized it’s about impossible to complain about someone else whining without whining yourself. So I’m not going to complain about someone else, because that would make me a whiner.
