I assume this is what being married feels like?
Based on my experience, being married rather feels like:

Bodyweight + 55 kg for sets of 20/20/20/20/20/20

;-)
I thought you said you were real young. Did you mean training age?

I am officially declaring war on my Pull Ups.

Chin Ups (As many sets of 5 in 15 minutes as possible.)
5/5/5/5/5/5/5/5/5

Face Pulls (Had to use a different rope. I couldn’t find the regular one.)
40 lbs on stack for sets of 10/10
65 lbs on stack for sets of 10/10/10
80 lbs on stack for sets of 10/10/10/10/10/10
35 lbs on stack for sets of 30/10

Rear Lateral Raise
15 lb dumbbells for sets of 10/10/10/10/10/10 (Can’t remember if I did 5 or 6 sets. I think I did 6.)

Preacher Curl Straight Bar
60 lbs for sets of 10/10/10

Had some elbow pain during the chin ups. Didn’t feel like I could rep out on my first set, so I did the timed reps. The face pull rope was way longer and thinner than the normal one. I have no idea where the regular one got to. I hate the people that go to my gym. They ruin the already shitty bars by leaving weight on them, they lose/steal equipment, they do all kinds of odd movements that I have never even seen before that make no sense, they cheat reps all the time. I need to open a gym.

Not my most spectacular lift, but nonetheless, I will take it.

Didn’t sleep well last night and was falling asleep all day at work today. I decided when I woke up to scrub today’s lift, and do it tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will wake up, take a few measures to make sure I am fully aroused to go to the gym, and subsequently crush.

I am thinking about maybe starting to take a preworkout some days. I used to use mountain dew occasionally to wake me up before a lift in college. Any thoughts?

I used to hate coffee…now I love it and am addicted

Hm, don’t recall saying that, also not in terms of training age. 29 is still young, right?

I feed my addiction over the weekend… er… my habit I mean.

I cant do it man. I have tried to like coffee.

I do however have to say that I can attribute a good deal of my success with late night studying to whoever invented Mountain Dew. My roommate and I would go through 4 cases a week between the two of us haha.

Man, you practically have one foot in the grave. =]

Today’s lift.

Sqwatz
5xbodyweight
5x45
5x135 (Paused. Explosive reps.)
5x185 (Paused. Explosive reps.)
5x225 (Paused. Felt like crap. Had to grind rep #5. WTF!)
5x275 (TNG. Felt heavy. I was falling forward and all kinds of junk.)
3x315 (Felt heavy. I didn’t know if I was going to even make one rep on my last set after this.)
3x350 (Holy shit. I have never squatted anything this heavy. No failing. I did feel like maybe I could have gotten one more. PR?)
3x315 (Felt heavy. Ok reps though.)
5x275 (Worst set of the day. Total shit.)

Leg Press
10x400
10x400
10x490
10x490

I just didn’t feel like I could hit my usual assistance. I was beat after that top set of squats.

I am not sure if that is a PR or not.

Feeling good about my easy squat PR… Wait, what is this? I dislike my squat again. ;(

Weighed in at 207.2 on my home scale today (weighed in boxers). I haven’t been looking at my weight at all recently. Glad to see that it hasn’t moved all that much. The last time that I stepped on this scale I was 199.2.

I am not going to worry about my weight at all for a while. As long as I am getting stronger, and avoiding getting sloppy, I don’t care what it does.

Takin today off to watch me some football. I am going to the Browns vs. Ravens game.

I think this guy does a great job with his explanations. He gets another post in here for that.

Today’s lift. Not super happy with this one. I was tired all day, and didn’t sit down for 6 straight hours. No breaks, no naps. I was beat and almost fell asleep on my feet at one point.

Bench Press
5x45
5x135
3x135
5x195
3x225
6x245 (Paused. Spotter touched 7. It was going up. Can’t count it.)
3x225
5x195

Incline Dumbbell Bench Press
10x75 (Didn’t feel like good reps.)
10x75
10x75
10x75 (My left shoulder and elbow felt odd during these sets.)
6x75 (No failing. Could have gotten 10, but just wanted a few reps for good measure.)

Kroc Row
10x120 lbs
10x120 lbs
10x120 lbs
(When I did this set, my left handed grip gave out on 7. I was pissed for 5 seconds before I remembered to finish and then got 4 more.)
5x120 lbs
5x120 lbs
5x120 lbs
5x120 lbs (Left side felt odd during this whole thing. My elbow and pinky/ring fingers just felt odd. No pain, just odd.)

EDIT: I accidentally had my bench say that it was 275x6. That is an error. It is actually 245x6 for this particular workout.

Not sure what to do about that one.

I am feeling real tired and beat up. I need to get to sleep soon. I am living off of 2 nights in a row where I got 5 hours of rest. Not sleep, rest.

This lift took about an hour to complete.

Pendlay Style Sumo T Bar Row
10x25
10x50
10x75
10x100
10x125
10x150
10x150
10x150

(Just didn’t have it today. Some of these sets were good, some were shiz. Some felt heavy, some felt light. Hands felt beat up. I decided to change my down sets to avoid being beat up and still have a respectable lift.)

10x100
10x100
10x100
10x100
10x100
10x100
10x100
10x100

(Tried to focus on form here. I wasn’t doing so hot. I just figured I would kill 100 until something happened. Quit at 8 sets to try to avoid having sore erectors for DL day.)

Rope Pushdowns
10x10 (No rest.)
10x20 (No rest.)
10x30 (No rest.)
10x40 (No rest.)
7x50 (Felt a good pump here.)
10x40
10x40
10x40
10x40
10x40

(I like these. I got a real nice pump. I am going to continue to do these until my elbows calm down a bit. Then I will start adding the close grip bench press, and floor presses I was experimenting with last week.)

I am starting to get real tired and beat up. It is due to my work and school. I am not sure if I am going to finish this cycle with a strong DL day or not. We will see.

If I continue to have crappy days with my top work sets, I am going to do what Paul Carter does…well, kind of. I am going to warm up past my work sets, and then just hammer the hell out of volume until I feel like it is good enough. Of course, it may just be the volume that is killing me at the moment. Who knows. As I said before, we shall see.

I feel like, in the last two workouts, my assistance has taken a big hit. It may because I am working with some of the heaviest weights I have ever lifted, and that I am not used to it.

I can’t help but think, “what would Dan Green do?”

What would this (paul carters scheme) look like?

He does something that he calls the “over warm up.”

Basically this means that he warms up past where his work sets are going to be.

Example:

Squat
5x45
5x135
5x185
5x225
3x275
2x315 (Last warm up set.)

Then your work sets would begin with 275. You did warm up sets past your working sets. Then you back up a bit and try to set a rep record at that weight (275), or a set record, or some other type of PR.

I may have to find a preworkout. I am getting my butt kicked with my current terrible sleep patterns. Today I will work on recovery and school work.

I am not sore at all right now. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good deadlift day.

Didn’t end up going to deadlift today, as I didn’t sleep last night. I am not going to waste a lift because I had work to do. Tomorrow will be my make up DL day.
