Top 10 Rappers of All Time

Very nice choice. I would of also accepted Nas, Big L, or Raekwon.

Raekwon is good, but then I would be leaving GZA out, and that’s no good!

Kool G
Craig G
Big Daddy Kane
Rakim
BIGGIE
Big L
Supernatural
KRS1
Pharoe Monch
Del
Beanie Siegel
Jay Z
Ghostface
GZA
Raekwon
Nas

Definitely can’t forget about Gza or Beanie Siegel.

He produced the beats and rapped a little with NWA. That doesn’t count? He’s also rapped with Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. He might have only made two records but to me making the one of the best rap records ever beats some weak ass nigga who made 10 weak ass records. I mean WTF… I take quality over quantity.
You need to change the title of this thread then. If you want to say Dre is one of the Top 10 ENTERTAINERS of all time, then I will agree with you. But this is about RAPPERS/LYRICISTS so Dre DOES NOT QUALIFY HOMIE. Yes his albums are dope, yes they are classics, BUT HE DIDN’T WRITE SHIT.

So please my dude stop defending your choice or just change the name of your thread.

No, entertainers would be too broad. Then you would include video game designers and pornstars.

I like Biggie, Eminem, and Wutang Clan and they should definitely be in the top 10. Don’t know enough history to necessarily pick the best of all time.

 1. Silkk The Shocker

skills beyond skills

Joaquin Phoenix is the best rapper. ever.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Mos lately, and I gotta say he’s easily one of the top 5 rappers of all time. He’s maybe the best socially conscious lyricist ever. He’s really on another level.

someone mentioned rugged man, right?

Fuck mainstream rap, huh?
Not really feelin’ anyone in the mainstream these days. I mean you’ve got guys like Nas and Jay-Z and them but they haven’t really came out with anything soild since their earlier stuff.

Something is wrong with this whole thread. Not one person mentioned one rapper out of the Def-Jux camp… And The rhymsayers barely got a mention… Does anyone here even follow rap?
Def Jux is dope, man! I know Cage is with Def Jux too but his material is kinda changin’. Hellz Winter was pretty dope. Although I do prefer his earlier stuff like Movies For the Blind and alot of the stuff he did with the Weathermen was hot! Oh and yeah, an Aes Rock, can’t forget that cat. Abstract as hell but he makes it sounds so dope! Take me a few listens to really decipher his shit sometimes.

I only know that my #1 and #2 are Eminem and Biggie, in that order.

But I’m suprised that nobody has mentioned Kool G Rap…

Cannibus? Royce da 5’9? Adjust your set.

Canabis is ILL, that dude gets props based on lyrical output alone! When I hear that track ‘Poet Laureate’ on the Rip The Jacker album, I was like damn…that was ILL!!

As far as Royce is concerned, I haven’t really heard any of his recent stuff. I know He came into the spotlight back when Eminem featured him on a track off his debut album (Marsall Mathers) Anyhow, I was listening to him well before that and his trakc ‘Im the King’ is one of my fave joints.
