Tonight's Debate

I was quite surprised when McCain acknowledged that the US support of the Afghan “freedom fighters” led to the Taliban regime.

That was something else. Reagan-esque, but accountable.
Sorry Zap – I’ve been going through some old threads, and will continue to do so (many interesting discussions have taken place here) but this bit that lixy “lixy supports the goals and methods,” I just don’t see it. It does no good for you to simply say the same thing over and over in different ways.

I could be completely wrong of course, but all I’ve seen is him referring to the terrorists as wackos, fanatics, scum, etc. I hope and expect Lixy will weigh in here. I am not trying to speak for him.
It’s quite simple really, I support the Iraqi people’s right to defend their land from foreign invaders. Seeing how for many, anyone opposed to US troops presence in Iraq has got to be a “terrorist”, I suppose that it makes me a terrorist supporter in their eyes.

I came within a hair of being blown up myself when terrorists decided to attack a hotel in my hometown (two months after the war on Iraq started). That I would support killing people at random is preposterous.

And to clear the air about the 16 year old “slut” that “played with fire”, here’s the original thread. I encourage you to read it and decide by yourself where I stand.

http://www.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/world_news_war/saudi_rape_victim

The talk about “hiding behind civilians” originated on a thread about Hezbollah. I had to audacity to suggest that members of the grassroots organization (which clearly has overwhelming support) are locals, and therefore have homes and families they go to when their fightin’ day’s done. Same goes with a good chunk of the Iraqi “insurgency”. I don’t expect them to stand around a giant target drawn on the ground with signs saying “Bomb Us!”. It’s the way guerrillas functions and saying that they hide behind civilians is not accurate.

Yeah…considering their “desecration” of “Ike Is Coming” thread and the people affected by it. Its been viewed over 3000 times and few have called them on the bullshit they’re spewing in that thread.

I haven’t read that. I will have to check it out.

Edit: I just skimmed a few pages. He should be tribunaled.
LOL!!

We blast HH plenty and he doesn’t support terrorism.

Lixy is a low life piece of shit.

Well…yeah…I wasn’t really focused on lixy. I’ve actually learned to act as if he doesn’t exist. I haven’t had that success with the “others” just yet.

That’s where I am trying to get w/ HH.
Did you go into rocket science instead?

I’m sorry bro, but that quote isn’t from that book, and I’m sitting here with that book on my laptop. What the hell is ‘imitate suspension’ anyway? “President Raygun”? Are you serious?

That book has nothing to do with US nuclear politics.

You picked the wrong book to make shit up with, bro.

Bullshit FAIL.

9. If you listened, Obama did not commit to a single cut in spending after Lehrer asked the question as an offset to the expenses of the bailout.
This is a little off topic but my understanding of the bailout is that we don’t know how much it will cost. What I mean by that is that the government will buy the mortgage securities and hold them.

Assuming that they are properly priced to account for future defaults and prepayment the taxpayers could make money on the deal. $700 billion is just the amount of money that will be used to buy securities.

Currently the securities have a huge liquidity premium attached to them which the government is trying to counter. The treasury will sell debt to finance this so the mortgage securities just need to yield more than that debt.

I have seen and also heard mention about Obamas speaches
and how he stammers, and the use of “you know”
like umm ya know we need to um um.
they ALL mentioned how he didnt know what to say,and he was grasping for straws.many of you will agree to that

becaue he stuttered and mccain had the answer right away that means mccain won the debate.

I started watching his neck and his face.
I dont think hes looking for words or stalling.
I think the man is a stutterer.

myself being a life long stutterer,I know how hard it is to spit out words sometimes and I like alot of people use “filler” words
like I use “ya know” and I use “like” and I also found that at times I couldnt say things without using them.

I also know how frusterating it is to have this condition and I have never admited it to anyone. I am ashamed that I can not pull off the simple task of speaking
I try and do all I can to hide that I Stutter

its costed me relationships, jobs, basicly it is a disability,it is even reconised under the ADA as such.

I also understand how unforgiving the public is ,they see you as stupid if you can not speak fluently an example is deaf and dumb meaning the persons a deaf mute and dumb also meaning stupid.

I noticed in a few interviews right before he said his “fillers” his neck and face muscles would get tenser than what they were.
just after watching and listening to when and how often I really think he knows what he is going to say but he just cann ot say it.

watch and its very subtle and its obvious to me that he has had extensive speach therapy.
he uses his hands when hes stuck,he uses the filler words,he does things that I was taught may help with a stammer.

please dont seet his as me supporting him or me coming to his defense I just noticed this and thought I would mention it.

An embarrassment for McCain or Obama himself?

Explain.

Family Told Obama NOT To Wear Soldier Son’s Bracelet… Where is Media?

I don’t know about you, but I’ll take the word of AP over that of a blog.

MILWAUKEE (AP) – The mother of a Wisconsin soldier who died in Iraq says she was “ecstatic” during Friday’s debate when Senator Barack Obama mentioned the bracelet she gave him in honor of her son.

http://www.nbc15.com/state/headlines/29864149.html

More importantly, how can the mother of the dead kid give Obama a bracelet and ask him “NOT To Wear” it? What other reason could she have to give him a BRACELET?

I understand that you guys must sling shit at this point in the race, but at the very least, try to make sense.

“She acknowledges e-mailing the campaign in February asking that Obama not mention her son in speeches or debates.”

By the way, the AP apparently felt it needed to downgrade from “ecstatic,” to “satisfied.”

The transcript was provided in the blog.

I’d trust actual words over the interpretation of a left-wing journalist.

You did follow the link, and read what was there, right? Sure you did.

This from the guy who thought Ron Paul was going to get the republican nomination… Ha ha…
If McCain managed to win the Republican nomination, Ron Paul could have won the Republican nomination.

Ron Paul would be on the road to the white house if he had won the Iowa or New Hampshire primaries, which he had a fighting chance to do. With millions of dollars on hand, the smart thing to do would have been to empty his coffers and buy up the state before the election.

As soon as he lost the first two primaries, he lost the election and I stopped caring. He went on campaigning for something like another half year, but I immediately stopped following the movement once it had doomed itself.

So basically, I was proven right. I knew that the first two primaries would make or break RP’s campaign, and they did. I knew that he needed a NH win at all costs. And his campaign blew NH, when it was practically theirs to take.
