Tommy Boy's Fat B@st@rd 5-3-1 Log.

Hell yeah Dove, well done brother!

Congratulations. That’s some strong lifting.

Solid lifting brother.

Nice work Dove!

GOOD JOB MAN!! Cyber clapping

Thanks very much for the good luck and the kind words folks. It means a lot.

Spock, you’re having weird dreams about me?? Might need to go get a sleep study done. That can’t be healthy.

3/19/12 Bench night.

I am going to go pretty high volume(for me anyway) for the next couple of weeks. Goal here is to do no sets less than 10 reps unless its pure technique work.

VIDEO:

Warmups, stretching, jumps, a few chins, and lots of band work.

Bench:

barX15
135X10
225X10
275X10
315X13 ← felt like complete shit. Bar path was all over the place and I had trouble staying tight. Needs work.

315X4 with 3 second pause. I did not rest very long after the 315 rep set, as I was a bit peaved. Could have been better here as well. Technique just felt off as hell tonight for some reason.

DB rows:

150sX10 for 3 sets.

DB bench:

75sX15
100sX12
130sX10

Straight bar cable rows:

someXsome for 3 sets of 20.

Alt. DB curls/tricep push down combo set:

someXsome for 3 sets of 12.

Done. Ok night, a lot to improve on though.

Good work brother! If you do the Longhorn, my brother, a few buddies, and I will all be there lifting. We’ll try to save some white lights for ya! Haha

Texican, thanks man. If shit goes well during the first week of April at work, I will be at the meet. If not, then I will likely be behind my desk banging at a keyboard all weekend.

3/20/12 Squats. Really looked forward to this session, as I am rather sick of deadlifting now that I have been doing a variant of it twice a week for the past 2.5 months.

VIDEO:

Warmups, stretching, jumps, and so on.

Squat:

135X10
225X10
315X10
365X10
405X5 for 3 sets. Getting used to knee wraps again. First set felt awefull, second less awefull, and third felt ok. Walkout needs work, and it would have helped if I had noticed that the rack height was at least 1 pin hole too low.

“safety bar” squats. So my gym has this odd piece of equipement called a “top squat” that fits on a barbell and kind of turns it into a safety squat bar. This I liked very much.

Safety bar squats:

barX10
135X10
225X10
275X10

Done. I did squats and left. Decent enough session, but my squats need some work.

*****BUMP !

Miss this log, I do.

Long time no post. It seems like as good a time as any to start up again. Currently training for the May 10th Europa ISA meet in Dallas.

Heavy upper night. My right pec has had a pinched nerve for the past 3 weeks and I haven’t really been able to do any bench variants during this time. Pretty damned annoying. Still, hit a push press pr tonight:

Strict Press:

BarX15
95X10
135X8
225X5
275X3
switched to push press
315X2
350X1
375X1

I’d missed it as well. I’ll try to not take a 2 year hiatus again lol.

EDIT: And thank you Spock! In an unrelated note that is only related to your screen name, I’ve just finished The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager in chronological order. Now I need to find something else on Netflix lol.

I seen the youtube video in my subscriptions and got on the google to find this log. Awesome push press man.
