Great pull man! Real jealous of the gyms you guys have there. Iv never seen 2 racks in one gym.
Thanks dude. I feel sorry for you. My high school gym had 4 full racks, and my old college rec center had 2 colligiate racks, 3 half racks, and 16 bench attached/detachable half racks. Going to a commercial gym after college was a major let down.

I really appreciate that you took the time and effort to type all that down. Answered everything and more! I have a feeling come meet time, you’ll put up some rather pleasing numbers.
^ WOOD CENTER DEADLIFT PLATFORM!!! Just have the liner to put on the wood center and get the matts in. No, I did not have anything to do with the construction so far. The owner of the place, David Hampton, is pretty awesome dude though.

VIDEO:

Speed deads:
135X8
135+chainsX5
225+chainsX3
315+chainsX3
390+chainsX3 for 5 sets. Felt good.
Squats:
135X12
225X8
315X5
365X5
225X20 Yay for high rep sets(high rep for me anyway)

That platform is going to be LEGIT! I train up at Wichita Falls Athletic Center when I’m in the States and we have 12 (I THINK) racks on platforms and 8 (I THINK) open Oly platforms. Definitely better than any commercial joint I’ve been to. There’s a GHR and reverse hyper as well.

excuse me sir… please don’t sniff ammonia caps, yell like a blood-crazed Viking and then drop over 500 lb to the floor, you’ll scare the other gym members

Damn, now thats a proper gym set up. We have one GHR and are getting a second one later this week. Finding this gym was pretty damned awesome.
2/23/12 Floor press. Things went south, then got better. Odd night.
VIDEO:
Warmups, stretches, jumps and so on.
Floor press:
bar X15
135X12
225X5
275X5
315X3
361X1
385X1
415X0 Right side gave out, spotter “barely tapped it” and then I locked out the weight. No lift.
415X0 Bassically the same deal. Heavy was not in the cards tonight for whatever reason.
275X20 ← this felt good. Turned the rest of the night into highish volume.
DB rows:
100X12
150X12
185X20 Again, these felt pretty good. I suppose I just needed a rep night of sorts.
2/26/12 Heavy Deficit pulls. Last heavy pulling day before the March 17th meet.
VIDEO:
Warmups, stretches, jumps and so on.
Deficit pulls:
135X8
225X3
315X3
405X3
495X1
545X1
600X0 FUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAARRRKKKK!!! Bar got out in front of me and I missed it at the knees.
Reset, pulled my head out of my ass, and did:
600X1 <— PR. Hells yes. Been chasing a 600 pull for the better part of 3 years. Feels good man.
Deads from the floor:
405X10 for 2 sets. Felt strong here as well. My hands are just about fully healed as well. Great all around.
Decline sit ups, average band good mornings combo set:
5X12 each.
Done. Great day. Speed bench tomorrow.
I am about 3 weeks out from the meet. Going to spend the next 2 figuring out my openers and working on medium intensity medium volume type stuff with the comp. lifts, and then do some very light band/stretching type stuff in the final 5-7 days leading up to the meet.

Seriously though, breaking that 600 barrier is a huge mental step, you will hit 600 from the floor at the meet for sure.
Thanks my friend. Agreed, for whatever reason, every 100 LB increment has had a huge mental block attached to it, no matter what the lift. I suppose its just part of this iron game.
