TM79's Training Journal

Thanks Shane. Ironically, I may have turned a corner today. Energy level was much better and things might be turning around. I figured that as soon as I embarrassed myself and described my snot to everyone this morning that things would start getting better. :joy: Sorry about that btw… Really need to run these posts through my internal filter each time. :+1:t2:.

LoL. It’s all good. We are mostly all dudes in here. I didn’t think twice about except to think it sounds like a sinus infection. :joy:

Comments: That was a pretty tricep heavy session. Definitely feeling that one. That superset with single-arm rope extensions followed by both arms rope extensions was brutal. Really those were pretty much max rep sets although I didn’t notate that. Plenty of other max reps supersets after that as well. Good session. The cold is still alive and well. I’m hoping it starts to go away. I’m down to two very cold conditioning sessions in the garage the next two days which is not ideal…

That garage workout was a pretty good workout on it’s own.

That gym session left little to be desired and had about everything it. Nice numbers for those supersets on everything.

I definitely believe you when you say your triceps were smoked.

Crushed that one man. Hopefully one of those garage sessions sends that cold on it’s way out.

Comments: I saw that Shane was doing a 45 minute power zone ride when I hopped on. It was tempting but I decided to take it easy. Woke up at 3:30AM and never really got back to sleep. That was probably the reason why I decided to do this ride. Still picked an easier ride to hopefully not set myself back on getting better from this cold. I kept the resistance 5 clicks above the class which added a little bit of difficulty. Still only crept into HR zone 4 a few times. Good stuff…

I reached out to someone on FB marketplace about a lightly used Assault Bike Pro for $250 but I think it sold almost immediately. Oh well…

Nice ride Trent. Definitely a good pace on that ride!

5 Min Cool Down Ride – Ally Love

Comments: Started off with a metcon from Dan Bailey. Got the blood flowing and then got on the bike for the most intense interval ride I’ve done to date. There were points where we were doing 75% resistance for 90 cadence. My heartrate was over 100% several times during that ride. Very hard.

Damn. That ride looked intense man. I might need to give that one a try next Tuesday for my more intense ride of the week. Great job!

Yeah man, give that one a shot. In the past few months of riding a Peloton I have had a few intervals where my legs sort of gave out right at the end and I had to back it off a little early but this was the first ride that there were intervals that I was like, “Nope. Not happening…” :joy: Or at least not at the top of the resistance range. I did a longish ride yesterday morning too so my legs weren’t that fresh. Could have done better with fresh legs. I might do a lower intensity ride tomorrow if I get time. :+1:t2:

They definitely have rides that will make you quit. That’s one of my favorite things about the peloton. I never get off it feeling like it wasn’t a good workout.

Comments: Got a longer ride in since my family was at a birthday party. That one felt fine. I decided to push it at the end and was in Zone 6 for about the last 7 minutes or so. Looking forward to trying that 120-minute ride soon!

I had this same thing - and it lasted about 4-5 weeks. I’d feel “better” for a few days and then it would wipe me out again. Relentless!!! I hope yours is much shorter lived and doesn’t make any comeback appearances!!

Wow. You smoked that ride man! Kick ass pace. 7 minutes in zone 6. :exploding_head:. Crushing it man.

I have that 2 hour ride penciled in for next Saturday. If all goes well through the week does that work?

You might want to get some padded riding shorts off Amazon for next week. I have a baeleaf pair. Your butt will appreciate it.

Great job on the cals!

Somehow I deleted my previous reply.

Seems like a lot of people have had something like this lately. It’s just what’s going around I guess…

Thanks Shane. Yeah I guess I just had some gas left in the tank so I pushed it at the end. Honestly, I was trying to get to 25 miles in 75 minutes but didn’t quite make it…

What time are you think for that ride next Saturday? I haven’t spoken to my wife about it yet but will definitely need to talk to her. Hoping soccer doesn’t start next weekend… I might shoot for around 7:00AM, but need to talk to her first.

Thanks for the heads up on the padded biking shorts. Just bought a pair that should be here on Tuesday. It’s funny, I had been thinking how it wasn’t terribly comfortable on the last few rides and kept doing some “shifting” during the ride. :joy: Looking forward to giving those a shot.

10 Minute Low Impact Ride – Denis Morton

Comments: Happy Super SWOLE Monday! Great game last night. Stayed up way too late, ate way too much and drank way too much. Late start today and I’m feeling pretty rough but am going to get after it!

Good session. Started off with pull-ups in the garage and then went to the gym for some Hex Deads, HS IL Low Rows and some accessory work. Then came back home and cooled down on the Peloton. I thought 375 was a PR on Hex Deads but my 1RM is actually 385. Oh well… Still it was nice that the gym was not very crowded. I’ll take it.

Not sure. I will probably try to be on the bike by 6:00 AM. Just let me know. I am going to ride it regardless.

Padded biking shorts make a big difference. At least they do for me.

Swole Monday no doubt! I honestly was eating last night and was like why am I eating another handful of these freaking frito dips? My stomach felt like it was going to pop. I guess that is why I am fat. :joy:

Pull ups at +70? Hell yeah man! Really solid sets on those deads as well and the HS rows.

Thanks Shane. I was right there with you last night. We went over to some friends’ house and there were about 5 other families there. A spread of food that was the stuff of legend. I ate: wings, pizza, fritos and dip, tostitos and cheese dip, pretzels and dip, chocolate covered cookie dough (amazing) and managed to down about 8 beers. So as far as the calories go, I’d say the below meme pretty much sums it up…

Mistakes

10-4 on the Peloton ride. I still need to talk to my wife but should be able to do it Saturday morning. 6:00AM? Whew! Is this the Marine Corps? :joy: I’ll do my best to start at 6:00AM.
