Comments: Worked on the rental house all weekend and didn’t sleep that great so I am dragging this morning. Did a metcon in the garage and then after I dropped my daughter off, went to the gym and did the elliptical. Just trying to torch calories after slipping on my diet (while out of town). Done.
Comments: Our son woke us up at 2:00AM and I didn’t fall back asleep until 5:30AM, just to wake back up at 7:00AM… Ended up getting right out of bed and out the door. I did an easy pace on the bike at about 15 mph. HR never got above 140 for the most part. That’s about all I had in the tank anyway. Long day down in Myrtle Beach incoming…
Getting woke up that early certainly makes for a long day. Great job getting that ride in Trent. Still a good pace and nice cal dump. Hopefully your day gets better.
Thanks Shane. I’m really enjoying the metcons that Josh Bridges posts. They are fairly simple (as long as I reduce the weight) and I’m enjoying the explosive movements. It’s nice for taking out stress and frustration. I’m thinking about putting a rubber mat out in the yard so I can go out there and drop the barbell. It would be way too loud in the garage and I would end up waking one of the kids up. Honestly, I’d love to have a power rack out there too. Do some lifting in the great outdoors…
Comments: We are supposed to go up to Cary and finish up the work on our rental house this afternoon (and all weekend). So I wanted to get in one last cardio session for the week. This was a decent ride. I did a 10-minute warm-up, then 40:00 of medium-hard intervals, then a 10-minute cool-down. Decent pace. I listened to the first third of Jocko’s podcast with Admiral McRaven. Good stuff…
Heck yeah. Nice ride Trent! I need to listen to that Jocko series. I am sure it is great. Have fun with the rental house. I am working Saturday if it makes you feel any better.
We finally finished the rental house today. I have done no exercise since last Thursday but have put in plenty of work. Each day I would work from about 8:00AM until at least midnight, sometimes later. We repaired/furnished that entire house in two weeks. About 75% of that work took place over the last five days. To say I’m exhausted is an understatement. We got back home at 5:30PM tonight and I was so tired I could barely drive us home. I will probably take the rest of this week off to recuperate, but may jump back into some conditioning work later this week. The house turned out great and I’m just happy to be returning to a somewhat normal life again. It has been a hectic stretch of time.
Welcome back man. I was going to ask if all was good but I knew what you were doing. Congratulations on getting the house done. Now to find a good renter.
Thanks Shane. A nice couple from San Diego arrived last night (talk about cutting it close) and they are signed up for a 3-month lease while they look for a house to buy in the area. Relocations and people staying for 1+ months for work, etc. are our target renters. It was pretty wild working our asses off to get that place looking so good and then just walking out the door. We had a professional photographer come and do photos yesterday before we left. That way we can use those to advertise in the future. Hopefully it works out. Just glad to be done…
Comments: Still pretty worn out but wanted to get moving so I did a bike ride this morning. Originally I was going to do the bike for 20 minutes and then lift some but ended up just staying on the bike. Pretty low intensity ride. Done.
