TM79's Training Journal

Thanks my friend. Glad I could get a few singles up there in the range that you train for reps.

Thank you my friend. Great way to celebrate a grave… ehhh… milestone indeed. :joy:

Yesterday’s Cals: Vacation/Birthday
BW:

Conditioning: Metcon
Complete the following for time:

5 Rounds wearing a 40 lb backpack: 8:47
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats

5 Rounds wearing a 20 lb vest: 6:00
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats

5 Rounds BW: 4:30
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats

Time: 19:17

Comments: As of yesterday, I had completed 605 metcon rounds this year. I need 12 more rounds to beat 2020’s metcon round total of 616. (I have already beat last year’s total of 574). So, I came up with this one, which is like a descending weighted version of “Chelsea.” It should get the job done.

Metcon: And there you have it. I finished the year with a total of 620 rounds, beating 2020 by 4 rounds. That wasn’t too bad. My goal was to finish in less than 20:00 and I did.

That might be the last session of the year for me. Next week is a scheduled rest week but we’ll see. Not going out of town now so I may get in the gym. Hope y’all have a good day!

BW: 181 lb (after breakfast)

Conditioning: Row – Level 8
10K Meters, 46:26, 635 Cals

LISS – 15 Degrees
15:00, 85 Cals

Comments: Hope everyone had a merry Christmas! I noticed that my jeans barely fit and I’m returning two shirts (that I bought for myself for Christmas) so it’s time to get my ass in gear and start the yearly battle to lose a few pounds. In years past I have slacked off until well into January and typically don’t start buckling down until Springtime. That usually results in not reaching my goal weight until well into the summer. I need to do better than that this year.

Row: Haven’t done a long row in years. About 15-20 minutes in I was thinking there’s no way I’m doing this for more than 30 minutes. Then, as usual, I go into hyperspace and just keep on going. Had a good podcast on too, so that helped. Did some LISS to cool down. Have a good day!

Kick ass row today Trent. 46 minutes on a rower seems like a lifetime when doing it. Way to get it done.

I hear you on the diet. I am starting early this year too.

Thanks Shane. Yeah, rowing is one of those things that just sucks to do for a longtime. It has to happen once in a while though. :joy:

Yesterday’s Cals: 3,500
BW:

Precor Bike
12 Miles, 45:20, 520 Cals

Comments: My guts were full for that ride… My HR was consistently in the 160’s with peaks around 180 during the sprints. The sprints were horrible, but I finished nonetheless. Fighting the good fight…

Sweet cal dump Trent with a good pace on that ride. Way to knock it out.

No action in here in about a week. I ended up with a sinus infection mid-week last week and that seems to have just about resolved. That was a weird one. It was just a minor sinus infection that never got any worse. We stayed up until after midnight at a neighbor’s house for NYE. It was fun but yesterday I had the worst hangover I’ve had in years… It was a busy break. We are looking at rental properties and my wife’s work has been challenging. Not a restful break at all but glad for the time off from my work. Still, looking forward to getting back into it this week.

Session: Decent session in spite of the circumstances. Worked carrying in the water jugs into my conditioning. Functional exercise. LOL. Have a good day!

Nice ramp up session Trent. Awesome use of the water jugs! Definitely “functional” training.

Ha ha thanks Shane. Yeah, the water here is terrible so we buy all of our drinking water somewhere else. I think it comes down to $8.00/5-Gal Jug delivered so that isn’t too bad. Managed to get an hour surf session in at lunch too so chipping away at the fatness…

Another good garage session. Those go carts you were riding on IG looked legit.

I hear you on the warm weather. Our weather down here has been nuts. We got a ton of rain this morning. Feels like we are trying to be washed off the face of the earth. LoL.

Thanks Shane. We go from temps in the teens to the 70’s in a week… Yep, those are some fun go carts. My daughter was trying to tell me to go wide in the turns and I looked at her and was like, “Well… No. That is incorrect. Just watch and learn.” :joy:
