TM79's Training Journal

Good looking Monday leg day Trent. Sorry to hear about your hip. That is a funny story about the hip thrust girl. :joy:

Sorry to see your boys lose this weekend. I was cheering for them and thought they were going to pull it off. That throw Stafford made to the tight end was about as good a throw as you can make.

Thanks Shane. That was a great game. I really wish they could have pulled it out at the end but it is what it is… I’m just glad that they seem like they are really moving in a good direction.

Comments: Good session. Started off with two metcons in the garage and then went to the gym and did Push. I got a little ahead of myself on bench so I just did 4 sets. Probably had 7 reps at 195 but stopped at 5 as I didn’t have a spot. Nice and strong on HS SP. Lots of good accessory work too. In hindsight, two metcons may have been a bit much before a heavyish push session but oh well…

Wow. That one just kept going and going. Haha. Heck of a workout man. You are making me feel lazy. Strong work everywhere. :flexed_biceps:

Sauna was full…

Comments: My laptop won’t connect to wifi for some reason. I was waiting on a call from my company’s IT department and then there appears to have been a big outage so my phone hasn’t worked all afternoon. Are the Russians messing with us or something? Finally made it to the office and plugged my computer into the wall and have internet.

Good session. Two metcons and some pull-ups in the garage and then went to the gym and did rows/curls/accessory. Done.

Heck of a day man. 2 metcons, pull ups, and then off to the gym to crush a pull day. Very strong showing today. :flexed_biceps:

I saw something on the news that Verizon had a big outage today.

Thanks Shane. It was a good session indeed. Yeah this day has been bizarre. Not sure why my laptop won’t connect and then my randomly stops working. I think that’s the first time in 20+ years that both my phone and laptop wouldn’t work. It is pretty wild to say the least…

Peloton
45 Minute Power Zone Endurance Ride – Matt Wilpers
15.15 Miles, 20.2 MPH, 545 Kcal, 132 BPM

Comments: Tried to adjust my bike a little before this but the hip was still feeling really tight during this ride. I left the seat height alone but moved the saddle back a hair so that my knee was directly above the ball of my foot with the pedal at 3:00PM. Then I moved the handle bars all the way up as I’ve noticed that my hip hurts more the further it is flexed in front of me. (It feels pretty good when my legs are straight). Still had some tightness though and took it nice and easy on the pace. I don’t know. Might try some foam rolling too and make an appointment with the ortho.

Will check the journals at work.

Looks closer to my pace today Trent. All you needed was to be injured. Haha. Seriously though, hope that hip starts to feel better after some foam rolling. We have one of those Theraguns. Those are worth their weight in gold.

Thanks Shane. Yeah, I hope I can get it worked out without having to quit the Peloton. That is the only form of cardio I have left at the house other than metcons and I’m already doing a lot of those… For pete’s sake, if it comes down to having to buy a rower I might just join the no cardio club. :frowning:

Comments: That was a hell of a conditioning session. I did two metcons, both in the 30 minute range. I did take about 5 minutes of rest in between them to move some stuff around but that second metcon hit like a ton of bricks anyway. My goal was to get 5 rounds in each of the first two ten minute segments and then to get 10 rounds of Cindy in the last one. I did manage to get 11 Cindy rounds so I’ll take that to the bank. Done.

Here’s the IG vid of the second metcon:

Congrats on that extra round of Cindy.

Comments: Took the day off from work so I slept in, started with a metcon in the garage and then went to the gym and did legs. I skipped hip adduction and abduction to see if that helps my hip. Also, did a metcon instead of a bike ride before legs and will see if that helps.

Gotta give the little dude a haircut and finish undecorating for Christmas but will try to check the journals this afternoon.

Comments: Good session. Stayed up and watched the CFP championship last night. Was happy for Indiana. I felt like the refs were trying to screw them but they simply wouldn’t lose.

Started off with a metcon in the garage and then went to the gym and did a push session. That metcon was probably a little too taxing before a push session but whatever… Still put up some decent numbers and definitely had 1-2 left in the tank on the last sets of bench. Done.

That was a nice push day Trent. Some very respectable weights everywhere.

I fell asleep at half time. Hate it because I missed a heck of a game.

Comments: Started with a metcon, pull-ups and accessory in the garage and then went to the gym and did rows/curls/accessory/sauna. While the metcon wasn’t super taxing on the biceps it definitely didn’t make it any easier. By the time I got to the LF Plate Loaded Curl machine I could tell my arms were smoked. Oh well. Still a good session. 70 total pull-ups between the metcon and strength session.

This morning the big trainer guy was working out at the gym and he was doing Cybex Squat Press with plates fully loaded and a barbell with 225 lb on the top of the foot pad. He was repping that out for 6-10 reps. That was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen anyone do at the gym. I didn’t count the plates but that had to have been well over 1,000 pounds. I almost pulled out my phone and took a video but didn’t want to be that guy. LOL

Wow man. That was a lot of cleans between those two metcons. That, along with all those pull ups, I can see why your biceps were smoked. . Very impressive! :sunglasses:

That is wild about the trainer adding a BB and 225 on top of a full rack on the squat press. Sounds like some Ronnie Coleman stuff.
