Good idea to not use the adjustable benches next time on your heavier sets.
I would agree with you on his days being numbered. In kicking, your mental game I think is the most important. Once you get in your head as a kicker you are pretty much done unless you get a good shrink to fix you. That is if you can convince a team to take a chance on you again.

Comments: Only got 4 hours of sleep last night. Lots of stress and things on my mind. Got after it anyway, as I should. Started with a metcon in the garage and then did some Pull-ups. Managed to hit a PR for 4RM but definitely didn’t have another rep in the tank for 5RM. I think the creatine gains are coming to an end.
Dang man. That workout definitely makes me feel like a lazy ass. Haha. Your home gym session would have wiped me out. Congrats on the PR on those pull ups. Crazy doing that after 6 rounds of Cindy.
Ha ha, thanks Shane. Other than stress, I’m also sleeping on a really old mattress and have springs poking into my back. Ironically, I just stopped at Mattress Firm on the way back to my office and bought a Tempurpedic. The guy at the mattress store asked if I had any aches and pains and I laughed out loud. I responded, “Have you ever been in a car accident? That’s how I feel everyday…” I got a really good deal on an open box Tempurpedic that someone refused or returned right after they purchased it. Evidently they clean/sanitize them and then repackage them and sell them for about 50% off. I can still refuse it if something is wrong with it and it still has a warranty so I figured lets go for it. The guy that worked there said he has gotten about twenty of them for friends and family and has only had one that was sent back. Hoping for the best.
Heck yeah man. I am probably due for a new mattress myself. Last one I bought was a Saatva and I feel like it is getting up to 9 to 10 years old now too. I like to buy things best for the money and back then consumer reports said it was pretty good for the cash.
Those Tempurpedics look sweet though. You will have to let me know how you like it.

Comments: Legs were smoked for this one. I really didn’t start pushing it hard until the last 15 minutes or so. Still managed to finish over 22 mph so I’ll take it. It’s crazy to work that hard and still be way behind your PR pace. LOL Oh well, done.

Comments: This was a good one. A little bit of everything and plenty challenging. I love working in the 5K scenic Peloton rides with these metcons because it’s like doing your cardio in some exotic place and then you “walk back into the garage” and start busting your ass again. LOL
Comments: My wife overruled me on the Tempur Pedic mattress, so I cancelled that order. Instead, she got a 10” hybrid mattress from Sunrising Bedding. Last night was my first night sleeping on it. Technically it is a Medium-Firm, but I had read reviews of people saying it was pretty firm. I concur. I woke up this morning and it felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Anyway, my back was feeling pretty rough this morning so no squats or deads were happening… Still had a decent leg day. I might try and get one of those foam topper things and see if that helps. Otherwise, that thing is going back.
Thanks Shane. Yeah, I thought about buying one of those foam toppers but out of principle I don’t think I should have to buy one of those for a brand new mattress.
When I went looking it took me awhile to pick one. I remember there being a mattress picker quiz you can take. It asks you if you are a side, back or stomach sleeper and a couple of other questions. I think that helped to decide how firm it was.
I’m a side sleeper so overly firm really screws up my spinal alignment. The one we got is a hybrid mattress but evidently it doesn’t have enough foam on top. Definitely need to go back to the drawing board on this. I just took a quiz online and it recommended hybrid and some spring mattresses. Just need more cushion on top I think.

Comments: Slept like shit last night. I laid on that new mattress for about an hour or two and then around midnight I got up, threw it off the bed and flipped the old one back down onto the bed and put the sheets back on it. Managed to fall asleep around 1:00AM and still got up at 5:45AM. I told my wife I want to return it and she said to try getting a mattress topper first. I said they have mattresses with the toppers built in. She said it’s better to buy it separately because they will wear out in 5 years and you can buy another topper instead of a new mattress. I guess I’ll give the topper a shot…
Started with a metcon in the garage and then went to the gym and did Push. I forgot to do max reps on my last two sets of bench but they were pretty close to max already. Still had a decent session. Started talking a lot so it took a little longer.
I genuinely love the crowd in my gym in the morning. They are some awesome people. Two of my gym buddies were supersetting 3 back machines at once and I said, “Hey, I have an idea. Why don’t you guys just superset all the back machines in the gym so nobody else can do back?” Ha ha… They thought it was great.

Comments: Good session. My foot was hurting last night. I soaked it in cold water, put on some Voltaren and took some Advil and it was feeling good this morning. Thank God… Started with a metcon in the garage. I based this off of one of Josh Bridge’s metcons. Not too crazy. Then got into pull-ups and accessory. I wasn’t really planning on doing a max rep set but what the hell. Ended up with a PR so I’ll take it. It’s pretty wild to be getting pull-up PR’s in your late 40’s. LOL Then went to the gym and did some rows/curls/accessory. Done.
