Nice work man. What’s a push up hold?
Metcon looked tough regardless.
Pull day was impressive too. Nice numbers man. ![]()

Thanks Shane. Push-up hold is just locking out at the top of a push-up. It’s like a plank but worse. LOL Thanks on the pull day. It did not disappoint. ![]()

Comments: Didn’t sleep well last night and I feel like I’m fighting what my son has. Still got up and did a Peloton ride. Nothing crazy but checked the box at least.
That push up hold sounds like a blast. Sounds like something someone who likes to do burpees would enjoy. ![]()
Sorry to hear about your sleep, even tired and fighting off sickness you are still smoking me on the Peloton and in the top 10 percent. ![]()
Ha ha, thanks Shane. To be fair, there was an option to do 6xBW Bench Press or 0:50 Push-up hold. Since I had just done Push the day before I went with the push-up hold (to hopefully not kill my gains).

Thanks on the Peloton. It seems like I go on streaks with that thing. One month I’m swinging for the fences and the next month I’m either sick or injured and have to take it easy. It is what it is I guess… You are doing just fine on there man. Maybe try doing some hard 15-20 minute rides to push the envelope a little and mix things up. I find that those really help. Then if you’re feeling good on a long ride try to ride a zone above, etc. I know I’m preaching to the choir here… ![]()

Metcon (From Josh Bridges)
10 Rounds for Time:
1 Mile Bike
15 Pull-ups
30 Push-ups
45 Squats
70:00, 796 Cals, 132 BPM
Comments: Got this one from Josh Bridges. I added in the squats and doubled the rounds. Overall it was:
10 Miles of Biking
150 Pull-ups
300 Push-ups
450 Squats
Good metcon but definitely had some hip pain during those squats. Need to get that checked out. Happy Friday!
I hear you on the varying the Peloton rides. Right now I feel like I am trying not to die on the “easy” rides that my current FTP is set at. ![]()
Good looking metcon today, Trent. I know I have said it before, but I really need to get some of this type of training put into routine.
![]()
I know how it is man. When I reset my FTP I was screwed for probably 6 months. Once you get in a good run of putting the pedal to the metal it will help. ![]()
Thanks on the metcon. If you aren’t training for a powerlifting meet anymore maybe now is the time to throw a metcon into the mix each week? ![]()
Yeah man. I am really out of shape right now. Goal is to make getting lean and more cardio fit the way forward. I am working on getting in shape, to get in better shape.

Comments: This was sort of a different leg day. Started with a mediocre bike ride then went to the gym where, for some reason, every good looking lady in the gym was doing legs… I suppose that’s a good thing as it was much easier on the eyes, but it did limit the choice of machines. I ended up starting on the hack squat, which I really don’t like. Then the Cybex opened up so I hopped on there. Had some hip pain during the last few sets. Then leg curls and extensions. That was about it. Only 19 total sets, so that works out to one set very 2.6 minutes. Liftrunbang would be proud…
Saturday night the moms and daughters went to the Taylor Swift movie so the guys got together at one of my Murph buddy’s houses. He just got a new half rack, bench and some plates and wanted to show us. Well, you know how that goes… A bunch of dudes having beers and one person hops on the bench. That turned into over an hour of bench pressing where all of us ended up maxing out. We even had the sons doing bench at the end. After bench we started doing weighted pull-ups. I worked up to one rep at 70 pounds. I have to say that was a cool guy’s night. Ha ha….
had to laugh at this.
He seems to advocate heavily for taking about 2-3 minutes of rest between sets so he would have probably approved of this workout. ![]()
Were you around here for the “clown dick” thread? It was priceless!
No. I don’t think so? Do tell… ![]()
He got into with somebody about the term medial delts.
Nice peloton ride followed up by a good looking leg day. LoL at the girls in the gym. One of my gyms it feels like there is a competition for who can wear the craziest Easter egg-colored pants.
Guys night sounds like a blast! Killer pull up man! Wow.
Was that on this forum? I follow him on IG and while he does post some pretty informative/interesting stuff he gets downright confrontational with people in the comments. I don’t understand. If you’re a famous IG influencer (or whatever the term is) maybe try to be patient and understanding with people? IDK… ![]()
Thanks Shane. Yeah, some of them do tend to get into the Easter egg colors.
There are some smoke shows in our gym, that’s for sure. Definitely makes the session more enjoyable I suppose…
Yeah, the guys night was epic. I wanted to try 225 on bench but he only had plates up to 205 so we slid some kettle bells on the bar to get there. ![]()
Oh yes. He used to be a coach on here. I like some of his thoughts on training.
