TM79's Training Journal

That looked like a very tough workout Trent. Me being lazy, I would have put the push ups and knees to elbows next to each other to have one less getting up off the floor movement. :joy:

Solid work man!

Thanks and good luck to your team as well! Agreed. I think the tournament is fascinating too. I don’t bother trying to bet on it though, as basketball is way too unpredictable for me. It’s fun to watch regardless. Those kids really give it there all.

Thanks Shane! Ha ha, I hear you on the arrangement. I do knees to elbows hanging from the pull-up bar and bring the knees up to my elbows (Similar to Toes to Bar but a little easier). I purposely spaced those out from pull-ups as there’s nothing worse than doing two hanging exercises back to back. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I do them like this:

I thought it sucked before that video. :joy:

That definitely makes it worse. Haha.

Great job as usual Trent!

Ha ha, yes, those definitely suck. Thanks!

Comments: Stayed up too late again last night. Was dragging this morning but got in some good work anyway. I wanted to go into the sauna after working out but heard someone else go in there right when I was walking back there so I bailed. I guess that experience earlier this week scared me straight. LOL

Hoping the Heels can get a win on Duke tonight but it is doubtful.

Great work today Trent! Doubly so on little sleep. LoL at the sauna. You need to go in and assert dominance. Kick em out of there. :joy:

Good luck to your boys tonight. Unfortunately, Dukes squad, is really damn good this year.

How’s the foot been feeling?

Thanks for asking! It is almost pain free now. (Thank God) if that continues I might start doing some daily stretching, etc. this week. Definitely need to start being proactive with that stuff. :+1:

Comments: There should be more 60’s rides on Peloton. Good ride. Pushed it so hard for the last few minutes that I did a Cool Down ride afterwards. Was drenched in sweat from the high humidity from the storms last night. Then went to the gym and put in some respectable work. My ankle was a little sore this morning. From what? I have no idea… Just popped 800 mg of Advil and am hoping it goes away as I have some real work to do tomorrow.

Was glad to see UNC make it into the tournament. Looks like UNCW is playing a #3 team so really hoping for an upset for them.

Kick ass work Trent. That was a hell of a pace on that ride.

Gym session was a solid one too. Those DB rows are strong. Nice to hit 30 push ups after all that other pushing too.

Congrats to your boys making the tournament. I see they almost beat Duke the other night. That would have been sweet!

Thanks Shane. We had a house full of people for the game Friday night and to say it was hype would be an understatement. It was definitely a legit lane violation, however it made me think and I don’t remember ever seeing that called before. Either way it was a very tough way to lose that game. I truly believe they could have won.

I thought about you during the DB rows. I was like, I bet Shane could do reps of 8 with 120. :joy: That’s the first time I’ve ever done those as a strength lift. (Usually do them as accessory) Need to do them more for strength.

I think most the country would agree with you on the lane violation. Hate to see a team lose on a bad call.

I think those DB rows can absolutely be used as a strength movement. I have enjoyed treating them as one. :+1:

Comments: Tuesdays are usually when I do my long bike ride. My foot was feeling mostly better this morning but just as a precaution I decided to do a metcon/Peloton combo session. With the theory being that I’m not doing too much of any one thing. It was basically two very similar metcons about 10-15 minutes long with a 30 minute Peloton ride in the middle. Overall it was a very balanced, but still challenging conditioning session. In the end I was completely drenched in sweat and it was only 40 degrees outside this morning. Good stuff…

Hell yeah Trent! Those back to back metcons looked awesome man.

Way to get after this morning! You know you are working hard sweating in 40 degree weather.

Thanks Shane. Yep, a nice metcon/Peloton sandwich this morning. :joy:

Reading both of your workouts puts me in a state of reverence. I do not skip leg day, but I do skip cardio almost everyday. Most excellent work!

Thank you Sir! I try not to skip anything but should probably slow it down and be a little more focused on a few things. :joy: Honestly, as long as you are getting in consistent training you are much better off than you would ever be otherwise. My hat is off to you Sir! Keep crushing it!

Comments: Wasn’t really feeling this session but still got plenty of work in. Started with a Peloton ride, then hit some pull-ups and accessory work in the garage. Was happy to get 8x25 on pull-ups. Then went to the gym and got some more work in. Done.

Was glad to see the Heels make it into the field of 64 last night. Hopefully they can keep it up.

Looks like a good one to me! I am going to be trying one of those glute thrust machines tomorrow too. Not looking forward to it. :joy:

Congrats to your Heels!
