Comments: Didn’t sleep well last night so I got up at 5:00AM and did this. Wanted to do more of a medium effort so I picked these two rides. Going down to Myrtle Beach for work today and tomorrow and will probably end up in a hotel tonight. Hope everyone has a nice day!

Get home before this weather moves in.

Yesterday’s Cals: 3,500/+300 (Triple Bacon Cheeseburger)

10 Minute Warmup Ride – Hannah Frankson
3.28 miles, 19.7 mph, 113 kcal, 128 BPM

Metcon (Murph Prep)

Complete 5 Total Rounds of the Following Wearing a 20 lb Vest:

25 Calorie Airdyne

2 Rounds of:
7 Pull-ups
14 Push-ups
21 Squats

27:28, 366 Cals, 157 BPM

Comments: I worked my a$$ off yesterday and then drove home in that storm yesterday evening. Slept in until 7:30 this morning so I was late getting to this. Went ahead and did a 10 minute warmup ride followed by a Murph Prep metcon. That was a good one. The intent was to do approximately 2/3 of a Murph with the vest on. In total it was:

125 Calories Airdyne
70 Pull-ups
140 Push-ups
210 Squats

By the time the Airdyne intervals were done I was happy to be switching to Cindy Rounds. By the time I was done with the Cindy rounds I was ready to get on the Airdyne. That’s probably legitimate clinical insanity. Ha ha…

Sounds like a rough couple of days, hard work and long drives. Good for you to sleep in a little bit.

Murph prep looking good. It would take something like Murph, Cindy or burpees to make a person want to take a “break” on the airdyne. LoL.

Thanks Shane. The work was hard enough but working in 35 degree rain is about as bad as it gets… Thanks on the Murph prep. Yeah it takes some hard stuff to make the Airdyne a nice looking break. :joy:

Yeah 35 degrees and raining sounds like a miserable way to spend a day outside working. Sounds like you need a good sauna day.

Comments: Woke up and my ankle is hurting really bad. Not sure what I did to it but I’m guessing just the hard manual labor Tuesday and Wednesday? Managed to work around it pretty well and got plenty of good work in this morning. Will try to take some Advil and stay off of it this weekend.

Well, you still got in a hell of a workout, even with a bum ankle.

Don’t you just love waking up with a new pain you didn’t go to sleep with? :joy:

Thanks Shane. Honestly, that was probably way more leg work than I usually do in a workout and on a bum ankle. LOL Yeah, it seems like anytime I do anything out of the ordinary now it aggravates my joints. Hell even my elbow has been sore from shooting basketball with my son… Must some kind of inflammation thing…

You are getting to that age?

I guess so… I think this is more of an arthritic thing. Whenever I do something physical that I’m not used to (like mowing the yard for the first time in the Spring) it usually inflames something in my foot. In this case I think it was doing some fairly hard manual labor for the first time in a while.

I’ve been on Prednisone and Advil for two days now and it still hurts so bad I can barely put weight on it. Had to call in for work tomorrow too which disrupted a few people’s Sundays. What a PITA…

Guess I’ll plan on taking a deload week this week and will probably go to the doctor tomorrow.

Sorry to hear your foot is that bad Trent. :weary:

Good luck if you do decide to see the Dr tomorrow.

Comments: Just getting moving and trying to burn some calories. Waited until late morning to do this since I’m working from home. Warmer weather and the garage door was open. All upper body stuff as the foot is still hurting badly.

Foot: I went to the doctor this morning and she thought it was some kind of overuse injury (tendonitis, etc.) in my foot. I suppose that might be possible based on last week. She recommended stopping the Prednisone and upping my Advil dosage to 600-800 milligrams 3-4 times per day. Regardless, I think I need to start doing some kind of daily stretching routine for my feet as that seems to be where most of these injuries occur.

Sorry to hear about your feet. Have you considered some more padded shoes?

Working I wear Hoka Bondi, and ON Cloudmonsters. Both are a max padded shoes. I walk on concrete all day and they really helped.

If not them, maybe an orthotic insole.

Thanks Shane. I’m already wearing Hokas with custom orthotics when I workout. :joy: When I go to work I usually wear Nike Air Maxes but usually don’t spend a ton of time on my feet. Maybe that’s why last week screwed me up so much. I remember my foot was a tiny bit sore and then I did Murph the next day, followed by a bike ride and big gym session the following day. Probably just made it worse… I think that stretching and maybe taking regular walks might help keep my feet “in shape” and hopefully prevent these types of things going forward.

I figured you would have thought of that but thought I would throw it out there.

Sounds like a good idea to add in some stretching. I think we can all do more of that.

I had foot and ankle pain about 10-15 years ago. I soaked my feet in ice water, used those foot rollers. I think that was during my jogging years? In fact I think I was wearing “barefoot runners” at the time.
Just almost unbearable pain. Eventually it faded away. I am hoping your pain clears up quickly.

I’m hoping this is something that passes as well. I’ve already cut out the running so at this point I think I might need to start doing something proactive such as the ice water you mentioned or doing stretches. As you mentioned, it is terrible pain.
