Thanks Shane. Yeah, whenever I have a plethora of candy, etc., I use the, “The sooner I eat it all, the sooner it’s gone” method. So I crushed a bunch of it last night and now there is none laying around. ![]()

Comments: My right big toe started hurting yesterday. It woke me up a few times last night and still hurts this morning. I’m guessing it was from the burpees and walking lunges earlier in the week. Getting old sucks… Yesterday I just squeezed in a little bit of LISS. Today I am hitting some LISS and a metcon.
Metcon: This is a good one. Had to sub everything but the effect was similar. It was easy on the toe so that works.
Nice work Trent. I like your candy method. I tried to implement some of it last night. ![]()
Nice cal dump yesterday and good workout put in today. Sorry to hear about the big toe!
Thanks Shane. Yeah, it’s similar but the opposite of ripping a band aid off quickly. Instead of feeling all the pain at once you enjoy all of the deliciousness at once (and then put on 5 pounds…
)
You only gained 5 pounds? Not fair! ![]()

Comments: Toe was hurting all weekend so I skipped the run and got in about 20 hours of painting instead (which wasn’t that great for the toe either but at least it was productive). I am down to three small bedrooms and a bathroom left to paint. This morning was the first day that I didn’t wake up with pain in the toe since injuring it last week.
Strength: Good ole sets of 10 for the win. Legs felt great for squats since I didn’t run this weekend.
Accessory: That was good and challenging.
C&P/LISS: It looks like doing burpees might be a thing of the past due to the repeated foot injuries that I get every time I do them. That really sucks. Had to do some BD C&P instead.
There is a (chilly) wave out there today. Might try to paddle out at lunchtime. Have a good day!
20 hours of painting. Forget the workout, that is damn impressive! ![]()
You should go buy a lotto ticket with 22 22 on it. Nice squats and benching Trent.
Sorry to hear the lack of burpees upsets you, it would thrill me, but I get it.
Good luck if you decide to paddle out today.
Ha ha. Man, I’m so sick of spending all my free time painting. After two months it is getting old. Just trying to get it done… Thanks on today’s session. The burpee stuff is only part of it. I also can’t do any jumping (box jumps, etc.), sprinting, mountain climbers, etc. Also I have to do push-ups/planks, etc. with my toes pointed straight, which is weird. Basically it keeps me from going to F3 as there is so much of that. I’d love to be able to get out there with those guys… Just don’t understand this weird turf toe type of injury that keeps plaguing me…
I wonder if you could get a cortizone shot in your toe?
I think I talked about it with the podiatrist two years ago but can’t remember why I decided against it. I think he thought it was that broken bone that was causing all of the problems but I’m not sure if that’s really what it is. I need to find another podiatrist down here and start the conversation over again…

Comments: There was still a wave hanging around this morning so I got my lifting in, took my daughter to school, then went down to the beach and went surfing.
Strength: Really moved quickly though this. The average heart rate tells that story. Got it done, skipped accessory and a metcon and just jumped in a quick shower. Now that it’s wetsuit season I don’t want to get all sweaty and then put on my wetsuit. Wetsuits already stink on their own. You don’t need to make it any worse by getting drenched in sweat before putting it on…
Surfing: Drove around and looked at it for about 45 minutes. Honestly, I paddled out where I did (at the Holiday Inn) because I was about to piss myself and didn’t want to do that in the car. Ha ha… It was another really high tide session, with the waves coming all the way up to the dunes. The surf was about thigh to waist high with occasional stomach-chest high sets. The waves were breaking in about 2’ of water, very close to the beach. I caught about 10 waves and two of them peeled pretty nicely. They were all lefts and breaking super fast. Most of them shut down after a few seconds and I was bailing into really shallow water. There was one girl out down the way and I only saw her catch one wave. Other than that I didn’t see anyone else out. Conditions were definitely challenging. Pretty day and thankfully the wind has died down some. This was my first session in booties this Fall/Winter and I managed to dial in the wax/combing pretty well. The wax was not too slippery and not to tacky.
Will plan on making up accessory and a metcon later in the week. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. ![]()
Might as well just cut it off, you have 9 more ![]()
Nice full body blast yesterday Trent. You moved through that workout quickly. ![]()
Also really cool to hit up an hour of surfing before heading into work.
That’s a true dad reply right there! LoL.

No school this morning so that freed me up to go surfing at dawn, which was a nice change. I paddled out on the longboard at access 35. Nobody else was out near me. Just a few fishermen on the beach and people walking. There is still just a ton of water out there and the sand bars seem to be non-existent. I paddled out just after dead low tide and once I was about 20 feet into the water I couldn’t touch the bottom. Most of the waves didn’t break until they got to shore. The sets were in the waist-stomach high range and broke further out. I caught a dozen or so waves and had a couple that peeled pretty well. They were on the softer side though. It was nice to be out there longer than 45 minutes to an hour for a change. Very pretty morning. Another thanks to those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. I appreciate it. Hopefully we are still free by 2024…
Solid surf session Trent! I never go deep enough into the ocean where I can’t touch. Freaks me out. LoL.
I see your boy Cam is back. ![]()
That should make it interesting!
I have got to start proof reading my iPhone spell corrects. Haha.
Thanks Shane. I love being in too deep.
There is actually a free diving/waterman survival course taught here locally that I would love to take.

Cam…
I talked to an old friend today who said he was in (happy) tears when he heard the news. Not me… Cam was a talented athlete with the mind of a 5-year old. He was exciting to watch but lacked the ability to harness his talent and work diligently and purposefully toward getting better. Even if his attitude has changed, he is getting older and probably won’t amount to much. My prediction is that our invisible O Line let’s him get destroyed the same way they did Darnold and then he goes on IR. In the meantime he may overthrow a bunch of receivers and scamper for a few first downs/TD’s. That’s about it. You heard it here. Mark my words. ![]()
