TM79's Training Journal

Sorry to hear that, Trent. Hopefully it passes quickly for you. Smart idea to not add any more stress to the body and let it concentrate on fighting the cold.

I have not been excited about football since Young to Rice.

Yeah the Panthers look like a whole different team. Just goes to show how important a QB is. Our division was considered one of the weakest and then the Falcons beat the Eagles on the road and the Saints curb stomped the Cowboys, two of the top contenders in the NFC. The Bucs looked pretty decent until their loss this weekend and now you guys blowing out the Raiders. Going to be a fun year. :+1:

Now that is a long time! I really enjoyed watching McCafferey play in Carolina and was genuinely happy to see him succeed in SF. Heard he is injured this season. Hate it for him. Heck of a talented guy.

Agreed. Our division is looking pretty strong. For the short amount of the Sunday night game that I saw you guys looked damn good. The Saints pretty much set a new scoring record against us when Bryce was at QB but still, they look very strong. Haven’t really been tuned into the Bucs but sounds like it could be a competitive year in the NFC South. I just hope Dalton can play consistently well from here on out.

It is unfortunate about McCaffery. Hopefully he can get back this season healthy. Two of the two items on my bucket list are: San Francisco wins another Super Bowl and Oakland wins another World Series. Obviously I am waiting for one. The other will never happen. I might as well scale K2.

Comments: Finally made it to Harbor Freight and bought a set of small files. I filed down the battery terminals(?) on the Airdyne and now it is working again. I’m wondering if some di-electric grease might be good for it too?

This cold has stayed pretty minor so I decided to train today. Going to do an upper body session and keep it at a conversational pace.

Good session. Kept the weights manageable and tried to take breaks between sets. Ended up supersetting a lot of stuff but still kept it pretty chill. Glad to get at least something in.

Shane hope you are OK down there. Looks like you guys got a lot of rain and ended up with about a Tropical Storm or maybe a Cat 1 hurricane. Hope you’re OK man.

Great to hear your airdyne is working again. Good to see you back. That was a nice session too. Yep, I am good to go. :+1:

Comments: Still recovering form this cold but wanted to get back into it so I did legs this morning. Nothing extraordinary in this session. More of clock puncher. I’ve been doing squats quite a bit this cycle and am trying to do them as a main lift or accessory lift every week, if possible. Trying to work back up there. Stopped at 225 as that felt pretty heavy. Done.

Will check the journals at work.

Nice squats Trent. Definitely some good looking triples there at 225.

5 Minute Cool Down Ride

Comments: Since I came down with that cold early last week, it has been about 1.5 weeks since I’ve been on the bike. I wasn’t expecting much on that ride. We were in zone 2 and 3 the whole time. I ended up riding a zone ahead during the last 30 minutes and we did some sprints at the end that put me within about 7 kj of my PR with one minute left. I cranked it up and squeaked out a PR by 1 kj as time expired. I guess a PR is a PR right? I’ll take it. LOL

Hell of a pull session Trent. The home gym workout was very solid in it’s own right. Gym session was nice icing on the cake. :sunglasses:
