TM79's Training Journal

It’s funny. I had never thought about the fact that you never get to coast on the Peloton. I guess that’s a good thing. I’d still consider doing a longer ride on it and one day if I ever get a road bike I’ll just crush the sh!t out of it, I guess cause I’m used to doing 80 mile rides on a Peloton. :joy:

Comments: My wife is getting sick now and then, out of the blue, our son started puking last night so I was up until 2:00AM cleaning that up and doing laundry last night. The season of sickness continues in our house… I wasn’t even going to do anything this morning but decided to do a low impact ride just to get moving. This is a deload week anyway, thank God…

Peloton: If you’re looking for an easy but longish ride, that is a good one. My HR never got out of Zone 2 the whole time. Still got moving and burned some calories. That’ll do just fine.

Nice work Trent.

Kids man, a bunch of little Typhoid Marys running around spreading their germs with reckless abandon. :joy:

Hopefully our households will be past all of it soon. Come on summer!

Comments: Figured I would do some weights this week just to keep things moving. Decided to do 3x5 of pretty much everything. Really that felt more like a legit gym session than a deload session. Oh well… Finished with a climb ride on the Peloton. I think I must have climbed Mt Everest because that was insanely hard. Done…

Heck of a Deload session Trent! You moved through with a good pace too.

Over 5 miles in 15 minutes, you were cooking on that ride.

Thanks Shane. I did my best.

5 Minute Cool Down Ride

Comments: That was a good one. Several intervals in Zone 6 and some longish intervals in Zone 5. I had given up on finishing above 20 mph until the last two minutes. Came off a 3-minute interval in Zone 5 and knew that if I kept the pedal down I might be able to get there. So of course I went for it and barely squeaked it out. Done.

You are a beast Trent! You are crushing these rides man. :sunglasses:

Thanks Shane. I think I have a loose goal of maintaining a minimum 20 mph pace now. It probably won’t happen on every ride but that is what I’d like to shoot for. There were a lot of Zone 1 intervals in that ride so I didn’t think I was going to get it today. Just barely squeaked it our by going to Zone 6-7 for 1:00 after 3:00 in Zone 5 (while everyone else was cooling down). :face_vomiting: :joy:

That’s a good goal. Definitely a very respectable pace for about any ride. I plan on hitting up a 60 minute ride sometime tomorrow morning. Going to try to do the same. :+1:

Just saw this when I finished my little 45 minute ride this morning. Glad you got after it brother! Looks like you ended up doing a 75 minute ride too. Hell yeah! :sunglasses:

Comments: I saw Shane was riding when I got on the bike at 7:15AM this morning. He was doing a longer ride too. Good job brother! I was up playing guitar until after midnight last night so I am not well-rested for this. Just wanted to get moving and burn some calories. Lots of low cadence intervals on the country ride. Done.

Nice ride Trent. You got mix in those recovery rides as well. That was still a gods pace for that ride on minimal sleep. Good for getting up and getting it done. A lot of people would have just slept in.

Thanks Shane! Yep, as long as you can get decent sleep most of the time you’re usually better for getting it done on little sleep once in a while.

Probably should get that checked out. Good session. Should get plenty of exercise at work today too.

Nice leg day Trent.

You could just need an adjustment at the chiropractor. I have to get those from time to time.

Comments: Exhausted from yesterday. I was wearing a 20 lb backpack and climbed up and down 70 flights of stairs (4 separate stairways). At each roof area I had to climb on my hands and knees through a tight attic space that spanned about 100 yards (each). Still made it to the gym and did a pull session this morning. Got it done.

Nice work Trent. Especially considering the day you had yesterday. That metcon for 3 rounds looks like it would have got the heart rate up for sure. Hitting some nice numbers on those pulls too.

You should be feeling really light today without that back pack on. Unless of course you have more of it to do today. :weary:

Thanks Shane. Yeah I was gassed this morning but still got in there and got it done. It’s nice to have days like that once in a while. They keep you humble. :joy:
